That's some pretty amazing art work in that preview!

Nice find Bro. That was awesome. I can not wait to get the whole book. I had my doubts about the new comic, however they have put to rest. Thanks again.

The preview ending in a mapserver disconnect is probably the funniest bit

I don't like the picture of Paragon in the first panel. There are buildings sitting just outside the war walls of almost every zone in the game. If you look at the city map you can see street outlines between zones. How can all of the stuff outside the zones be farmland?

I hope it was just an artist screw up.

Besides that and the whole Hellion/Outcast screw up, that was a pretty kicking preview. If I had any doubts about this change of hands, they've been clearly crushed by now. This book is now on the track to awesome.

My favorite panel is the one where the guy with the pipe going through his chest is wondering what the heck just went wrong. The look on his face is priceless.

Hellions? Those are Outcasts..

That said, though....Whoa.

Too bad it wasn't Skulls, to let them take revenge for all the "Go Hunt, Kill Skuls" at their expense.

So in order to be good, a comic book has to be dreary? I might be crazy, but I think the old one fit the tone of the game better.

I wish, I wish, I wish us Europeans on the US servers could get the comic...

Damn that looked sweet.

I do wonder what happened to all the Natural origin heroes there. I'm pretty sure the AR blasters would be quite capable of wiping the floor with the mislabelled outcasts and a few failing clockies. Unless they made the rifles magically disappear too?

Um... any martial artists in the house?

I'm wondering why Statesman has a cape in one of the preview pictures.

I really hope they fix the whole Outcast mixup. That's going to drive me nuts.

Otherwise the story looked very cool.

I posted on Newsrama's forum about the Outcasts/Hellion thing... doubt they can make the change, but it's worth pointing out.

Well, on a point-by point basis. . .

Art: Certainly more detailed. Something about the people doesn't sit right with me, though . . . And, of course, nitpickings like Sister Psyche, the War Walls, and toher things that I feel could ahev been done better . . .

Story: Narraration's decent, basic concept seems solid, but it really feels like it's trying, reaching, to be, well, dark . . . And the stretch shows. The dark in the Blue King comics seems more natural. This feels more like a "Once upon a time, we kicked butt and chewed bubblegum. Then Spider pulled out Operation: Nerfbat. Then everyone died. :/

Immersion: Say what you will about the Blue King comic. At least that author knew what the hell he was talking about. This author knows little to nothing about CoH, and it shows. Painfully so.

A little harsh, and this is our first look, but, frankly, I'm not impressed.

I had similar thoughts, prompted by Manticore's notes about being a guy who was good enough at archery to hang with the Freedom Phalanx.

As for the gang, they're dressed like Outcasts but they didn't seem to have powers like them. Unless it was the worlds' largest gathering of Outcast Initiates. If they had been Outcasts, they would have been just as screwed as the heroes were. So it seems more like a problem with the artist drawing the wrong gang than it is with the writing.

Top Corner. Right hand side. The Shocker, floating above the gunners, firing a blue bolt. After The Spell has gone off.

I think I have to agree with Seniara on this one: nice idea, but it looks like they're... I don't know, rushing it. "Then Everyone Died," like she said.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, after all, I was less-than-thrilled with the Old Comics, but actually came to like Warwitch and Apex. So, maybe it won't be so bad.

Maybe it's just my twisted sense of humor, but I saw the Migliari cover image and started giggling as the thought "So, Statesman, regular Preparation H just isn't cutting it any more?" ran through my head...

The future bow powerset implied by Manticore's weaponry is a nice touch, though

I'm still inclined to think its a mistake on the part of the artist rather than the writer. Every other gang member we see is using either a gun or a sledge hammer. And we're explicitly told that when the spell goes off it messes with the Clockworks as well as the heroes which would make me seriously question why it wouldn't do anything to the Outcasts. I'm really inclined to think that the script called for a group of Hellions to be drawn in but it didn't get explicit and the artist drew Outcasts instead. It wouldn't be the first time something like that happened in a comic book.

I do have to wonder about the guy with the sledge on this page since he appears to be flying. Then again I also wonder why Synapse isn't in a running posture in the next panel.

Talking of that page, did anyone else notice that there seems to be a repeated baloon there? (Is that the right name in English? The squares where the narrative text is contained), the "...that's because we'd begun to think it was." is the last on that page and the first on the next .

I really liked the artwork. Just wish I could make a character that looked like one of those mages surrounding Lord Recluse. Those costumes are sweet.

Nerf lazy writers!!!!!!!! I mean geez, those were Outcasts.

It's not Mark Waid's (the writer) fault. As many have already stated, all the mistakes pointed out look more like screw-ups by David Nakayama (the artist) than anything else.
