Hey, because only fanbois can detect BLANTANT IRONY AND HYPOCRISY WITHIN THE SAME SENTENCE.
You cannot start a post with "No ultimatums" and follow it up with "I'm going to delete my account if..." Pointing that out isn't kissing up to the devs, it's kissing up to the rules of the english language and the definition of ultimatum.
Despite the sturm and drang (and funny posts), I guess one of my questions remains:

As it is, Rage ain't something I would have every picked, much less slotted. I'm hoping the change will come soon. I"m guessing it must be, with the dearth of Dev responses to questions, assumptions and insults...
To try to help get this back on track, I don't like the changes to rage. I was against the tank changes in concept, but have made them work really well (at high lvls, at least). So I am not a reactionary just respond to change.
What I don't like is how they have turned it into unstop. What I mean is I was permaunstop, living w/ the risk/reward of the rollercoaster. W/ I3 taking that out, I have been enjoying a non-drop life. Now, I am back to playing this game w/ rage.
What is also negative is that I liked that how as you went up in lvls, you could grow into your powers better. Having a great resist to the neg effect of rage was part of being a better hero. I don't mind game balance, but it should be in ATs and not levels.
Overall, can we just leave tanks alone for a while? Can we stop this recent and endless tinkering? I have a feeling there are a lot of tanks who are running out of respecs trying to keep up w/ all of this.

I agree whole heartedly with the "leave tanks alone for a while" thought.
As far as respecs go I still have 3 left, and i'm level 50. I made it to level 50, never using a respec. I just planned out what powers i wanted, and how i wanted to take them. I did the respec TF's for the badge and the respec, but i really never planned on using them. With proper planning, and the test server, you can realy design your character well without making mistakes. So, i used the one free respec when I3 came out, thinking it was all well and good and i would be done changing my character. I spent close to a week testing different combos out on test trying to get my character just right.
So, now that all invulnerability and SS have been changed from my original character concept i was wondering if I could trade in all of my current respecs, for a SuperRespec that will allow me to change my powers. I'm not too sure i like inv/ss with the current changes. Or maybe you could develop a level 50 tf that will lets you get a superrespec that modifies not just the slots in the powers, but the types of powers themselves. Rebuilding from scratch.
I mean a high level dose of radiation could have the effect of scrambling my current powers and giving me others couldn't it?
could you just turn it back to normal?
rage needs NO nerf its good as it is and it has its drawback.
keep it at where it use to be i hate this new change to rage. nothign kills faster that end drops of 90-95!
and could you leave the tankers alone? go look at something else.
if you keep changing tankers you may just as well tell everyone to play scrappers, or controllers

I have a stone/SS tanker, Hania Stonesong, who would be far better off damage-wise with EM, stone melee, or fire as a secondary. I took super strength as a role playing choice.
Is rage + super strength so far superior to the other secondaries? The fact that this change was implemented shows, imho, a certain ignorance of human nature. Inv/SS tankers are only now starting to calm down after the significant changes made to their primary power set. Many of them respec'd and now they've got their characters parked while they wait for an indeterminate amount of time for the devs to adjust rage. The uncertainty of what that change will entail + the nagging suspicion that more ugly changes may be coming (100% end drop fo a power that is not a top tier power is pretty darn ugly) is probably eroding the trust of many gamers.
Fortunately, I have been playing this game since day 1 and have lots of other characters I can play while this gets sorted out. All the same, Cryptic has lost a lot of respect from me with how they've been both testing and releasing updates.

Can we have an ETA on this change to Rage, please? I haven't been able to play my tanker at all since I3 came out. I'd really like to do so again, sometime soon. Please? 
Statesman why do you not hear our pleas! The reason your change to rage is so incredibly unfair is because of your timing. We all used or free respecs and in my case at level fifty I had used up my other three as well, and then after the fact you made the change to rage. It was a grossly unfair move on your part because of your timing. I think for those of us whom you made a change after we were given the free respec, we should be given another chance to respec our characters.
I truly do not believe that the devs set out to have the respec come BEFORE a change so drastic as what was done to rage. Because I don't believe any intent was there, I'm actually pretty calm about this one. I do, however, agree that, if I knew then what I know now, I would have respec'd at lvl 44 an entirely different epic power.
Detour's an Invulnerable/SuperStrength Tank, and fights Fake Nemesis a lot. When they decide to run, if it's at the same time that Rage drops, the disorient of it was countered by my Unyielding power, but one shot at the same time at range and I'm uberstunned. I bought Lazer Eyes from the energy pool to try to compensate, so at least I had a ranged power to hit back with. Now that Rage doesn't disorient anymore - a feature that ROCKS IT NICE - it makes having a ranged power superfluous. I'd have taken focused accuracy instead.
But, the respec came before the changes, and there we are, you see. I still have 2 respecs left, and will probably have to deal with it that way. I am optimistic though, that since Stateman and the devs are aware of the overcompensation done to Tanks here, that 'soonish' is a good sign.
The proof in the pudding for me - I still get asked to do AV stuff and herd every day, more than once. IN issue one, NO ONE wanted a tank, as the scrapper did its job better.

I was just coming in to make the same point.
When did rage become on par w/ Unstoppable where it merited such a harsh penality for use? What was the acc bonus again? What was the damage bonus again?
If you *insist* on this penality switch, woulnd't a 50% drop be sufficent? Even w/ Stamina(6), you're still losing a lot of capital. Or drop of 75% would beat putting an apple in our mouths and serving us up as designed now. If you run w/ Invc and/or Unyeild (or anything like) the drop now might as well be 0%
Hell, if you want to keep the drop, at least bump up rage to make it worth it.
Or, if nothing else, give us a way to swap it out. It's a handy power the way it was, but it's way to expensive for the return now.
