Rolling back the bosses doesnt require any new programing right ? Im wondering then , why werent they rolled back already ?

There is no way ill do a Respec TF unless they get rolled back . And bosses still appear in many missions even when playing alone at Hard Boiled ... Why just not rolling them back already and fix whatever stuff you are working on after ? Playing with good old Issue 2 mobs would make me so happy .

Agreed. Roll them back already.

Rikti bosses were nasty enough to my SR/Spine scrapper before I3 (due to their nasty swords). Now they are unbearable one-hit murderers. And imagine my fun in my mission last night when I discovered 3 of them in total had just spawned in the mission....before the actual boss that was supposed to be in it.

And right now I'm doing the Nemesis Mass Duplicity arc....imagine how nasty that is now...my current mission had no less than 6 red-conning Warhulks in it. I mean yes, I bumped the slider up one level from hard-boiled but if bumping it up one level gives you random boss-spawns of +1 level what does it do for everyone else?

This is saying to you all that SR was the worst affected scrapper defence from Issue 3. Regen, Dark Armour and Invulnerability all have some form of heal in their tree. SR does not. Rollback somepoint soon would be nice....

If only because it'd mean I didn't have to team every time I chose a non-Kill X enemies mission.

Bah they are stealing my tough bosses... at least make the bosses harder if I have the setting on invincible... I mean come on prior to the change my tanker can solo 1 +4 boss the second if there is one will drop me sometimes so sometimes I can get 2 +4 bosses while street sweeping.... I understand some people can't solo so roll back the difficulty if the player has the setting on hard boiled and maybe the one higher than that, but leave unyielding and invicible with the tough bosses. I mean if I could increase difficulty to minions being light purple and bosses and Lt's going from there I would love it so this is naturally my psychotic opinion

Yeah the respec TF are totally screwed nowadays. I must have tried to do the trial with my PB over 10 times against the sky raiders and no1 finishes. I'm lvl 32 now and I refuse to do the respec til the boss changes are rolled back.

we suceeded - the trick is to reduce the difficulty level to hard boiled to reduce the boss spawns

I dont mind some tough ol AVs, and i certainly think they should drop more exp. The one exception is infernal, he needs a little tweaking. I took my lvl 50 SR scrapper against him today, he one shotted me several time. It was very painful to watch. He didnt even con purple to me, he was red! Come on, a lvl 50 scrapper shouldnt get one shotted by a red AV should he? Then again, i think hes the only one that can reliably put me down with a single move, so maybe its ok.

10 days after the Free Respec is offered, you up the Bosses and neutered the SS tankers (Rage).

Change in effect for 2 weeks now. Any idea on rollback date? "Soonish for Geko" isn't seeming soonish on this side of the busted-Tanker brigade.

You told us the Respec success rate was 80%, pre-boss upgrade. I had the misfortune of going on the 24-34 Terra Volta Respec (Sky Raiders) two days or so after the change went into effect. I believe this was before you mentioned the extent we were going to be hammered by making all the Jump Bots and Skiffs 3 levels higher than us.

What's the success rate now in this Boss Heavy Mission?

Since you tweaked the Cape Mission, did you tweak Terra Volta?

Is there a target "date" in mind for if/when these proposed or promised changes to Bosses will go into effect?
(I.e. the rollback to pre-I3)

Currently, my 40th level NRG/Dev Blaster is neutered and unable to complete a single mission solo. Therefore, he is sidelined until such time as these changes take effect (he is more frustrating than F-U-N! to play).

That said, my interest in playing Alts is thinning out as well. I fear without a change on the foreseeable horizon that I could be looking for a new MMORPG.

And to all those who would flame me for this post...I stuck by Sony and EQ1 from release up until CoH went Live (that's over 5 YEARS for those who don't know).

I must say none of my 40+ characters have a problem now with the bosses solo. The devastation these things lay out when you face them in groups is something to behold. You know, like when you play with a team or in a Trial.

I have to say that raising the bosses like this at 25 was nuts. A level 25 character is not prepared to deal with the raw power of these bosses. I had a same-level Tank swiper take my 29 SR Scrapper to 10% life in one shot with Fortitude running on him. My 26 Tank can solo one or two, depending on boss type, but it takes inspirations every time. You only get so many inspirations.

So I'll sorta miss the bosses on my 40+s (but only for solo play) and I can't wait to see them go on my 25-30s.

On my 44 katana/SR scrapper, I have not had many problems soloing missions with bosses, even on the invincible setting, so long as I was prepared for it. That doesn't mean that I NEVER died, just that I rarely died when I was prepared (as any SR scrapper knows, you can never tell when the wind is going to blow the wrong way).

HOWEVER, since I started doing the FBZ door missions, things have gotten quite a bit harder. Someone told me recently that he thought that carny bosses were the hardest in the game -- i told them that they must not have fought Rularuu bosses, because they will all too frequently two-shot me even with Elude, tough, and all my other toggles up. I'd hate to have to change my difficulty setting back and forth every time I want to switch from doing FBZ missions to normal ones or back again. Hell, even the minioins and Lieutenants are bad enough. and the groups so close together to each other that I've taken to using Elude and inspirations in just about every other fight, so that if I'm not careful, I can be all out of insps by the time I reach the boss.

Just call me a masochist, I guess...

I am an energy blaster and was usually able to destroy a boss on regen alone, ie outwaiting him and sniping a plethora of times. As they stood, bosses were already a challenge post 25, but at least I could take my time and get things done. Now, the regen rate is insane and they one-hit kill all the time. I can't solo my own missions anymore for fear a boss will show up. This is NOT why I left EQ after 6 years. I left EQ because I had the option to solo when my friends were offline or my time was limited. Now, even the street bosses (which are quite numerous post40) are causing me a huge amount of debt.
I heard a promise to roll this back with some subtle changes and I understand the DevTeam needs time, but with a large scale nagative consensus on these bosses I think it may need to be hastened a bit. My ability to choose how I spend my online time is important to me and I really like CoH, but this issue needs to be resolved.

Whther or not you have fortitude on you and are SR will have little effect on how much damage you take when you do get hit. Both SR and fortitude help significantly in not getting hit in the first place, but tneither gives any kind of damage reisstance for when you do.

Tank swipers always hit very, very hard. I remember going up against them with a /Invuln scrapper when I got into the early 20's and seeing about 2/3 of my health drop in a single hit. Now they're even more insane.

Yep was on mission with a Tank swiper the other day. He was 34 and I was 33 and he hit me for 1071 points of damage. Of course I only have 1014 hps..so I was really peeved.

Guess I'll have to take dullpain not to be gimp. As a regen scrapper I can say almost every death in the last 5 levels have been from bosses one shotting me.

I really didnt' wanna take dullpain......(cause I was a permaunstoppable tanker) I don't really wanna be hitting perma clicks all the time. I have hasten on auto and i don't wanna have to make sure DP is always on

Maybe I won't when Bosses get rolled back.

Perhaps this has something to do with your build?

Try replacing your enhancements with Training Enhancements (or a % of them). That should raise the difficulty for you at all times, without impacting other players. It may make Invincible an actual challenge for you.

It would also perhaps enable you to enjoy a challenge in someone else's mission NOT set to Invincible.

Remember - for every player who sifts through the boards or monitors their characters numbers to build the perfect toon... there's probably 2 players who don't have a clue and build them based on the little book that comes with the game and their own 'style'. Programmers have to build this game for the people inbetween.

You could always petition the dev's to add in some sort of badge or xp bonus for players at X+ level who ONLY have training enh in all their slots. Not lowering it for everyone else, but if you wanna have crazy fun... do door missions at Invincible with all training enhancements and get a specific xp bonus for it's successful completion... that kinda thing.

Personally, I wanted to cap the last toon that invited me to a PUG without telling me her mission was set to invincible. I always look for it now.

I am going to hang it up until these boss changes can be adjusted. When is this expected? I have 3 missions on my plate and cannot solo any of them without getting killed. I have died 5 times trying to complete these three. I have my difficulty at hard boiled and find it completely impossible to solo at this time.

On mission 1, the boss was at the same level however, when i used build up and my most powerful hit, he only took about a 5% damage hit and then basically regenerated and kicked my tail before I could run away. Died 3 times on this one. Cannot beat these guys without a team and I don't feel teaming should be required to finish a mission. (Defeat Base Leader and his Men; Boss - Luthyr Level 35 or 36 cant remember now; by Colleen Nelson)

Mission 2; I ran into an "arch-villian" a level above me. I tried twice to even hit him; not a chance. The two shots he took at me drained half my hit points and killed me on my third try, this is nuts. (Stop Circles Sacrifice; Arch-Villian Envoy of Shadow level 36 (on above me); by Casao Kestrel)

Mission 3; 3 bosses, 2 at my level and 1 above in a single mission. Ran into the first one as soon as I came into the door. Don't know how many were really in there. Said a few choice words after the last time I died and turned the game off. (something about a computer in Crey, didn't write this one down out of "give up"

If this is what i can expect on the current changes then i will most likely stop playing and cancel my account. Sad because up until now its been a great game. I have been playing this character since this summer as I can, unfortunately I don't power level or piggy back higher level teams and skip this challenges but I am giving up if this is what i can expect. I cannot team since don't have the dedicated time available to run team missions. Sorry, just a little frustrated at this point. Don't mind making the game harder but if you put in an option to allow you character to decide the level of challenge then the lowest level should at least be attainable.

Fortitude provides +DEF, +ACC, +Damange, and +DR. "The targeted ally will even take less damage from those few attacks that do hit him."

SR I understand is all +DEF.

I don't think these are ever likely to go away. The presence of these creatures is fairly evident in many (though not all) mission descriptions, along with a suggestion to bring help. The best you are going to see here is a future improvement in the mission selection mechanism, along with a means of dropping missions you don't want after you've taken them.

Now to be honest i am a bit frustrated and yes as an energy/energy blaster im used to death and Debt. and i understand the need to make the game more groupable

But i dont often play at peak hours nor do i get into Pling and such and im not a power gamer...but i had prechange been able to have a 50 50 chance against red bosses poping insp as i went...

Now this happens facing a blue..yellow maybe...OJ almost never and Reds forget it death sentance...usually a two shoter..

This is nuts...plain and simple. My SG has been awesome helping when asked byt im kinda tired of a asking for help when i was enjoying soloing and such. Im almost 39 and have only this char im kinda new. But even after hearing the changes were coming i spend each night paying off debt after debt at this level unless i streetsweep

a challenging and imaginative game has become tiring and frustrating. This is no longer fun. it borders on insane. I like my char and dont wish to change for one who can solo these.

If there are changes coming please bring them on. I do not wish to cancel but then i dont want a fun game to be as frustrating as work

Ranting actually but *sighs* is there any word on when these changes maybe coming about?
