You should find that the Cape and other "protect object" missions are now completable, whereas last week a bug existed that made them FAR harder than intended.

A question from the girl in the green hat:

Last night, I attempted the cape mission. It was my mental controller (30) and a Dark/regen scrapper (32) and we went into the mission. All seemed well. We cleared the first floor, then I went to the elevator and clicked on the doors. The Perez Park screen came up and Mission Failed.

The Scrapper had to go to sleep, so I went back and did the contact run and figured to solo the mission, to see if it was still bugged or just bad luck that we'd failed even without getting close to the capsule room. Now, soloing a Mental/Empathy Controller is not that easy, and I chose to Confuse the drones, making them shoot the others, at which point, I could take down the drones easily enough. I made it to the capsule room, and saved the thing. Mission Complete.

My question is about the 1 thing that was different between the 2 missions. The Duo version had Communications Officers (which, as a blaster, I always take out before they can do anything). The Solo version had no Comm Officers.

Can Communications Officers call to different "floors" of the map? Could the first attempt have failed because a Comm Officer on the first floor managed to open a portal before I could Dominate him?

Completed the War Wall mission successfully yesterday - or the day before. No problems with minionis attacking the machines before I hit them first!

You had Rikti in your cape mission? Mine, and every other person's I've helped with, was againt the Lost... has it changed? Does it vary? Am I just being plain dumb?

I don't know if this was an unintended consequence of your fix or if it is an entirely unrelated bug, but my wife was doing the Cape mission with a party of five today when two of their team lost connection right before they went for the Time Capsule. When the two people got back online and in the team they re-entered the mission and for them it was reset. When the team tried to TP them to their group waiting near the Capsule it wouldn't work as if they were in another mission.

None of them thought to report it in-game (I guess they aren't software develops like me--it's always the first thing I think to do) but I thought I should post it here. I'll also send in a report to support just in case that will help.

If you want to track it down, Her character name is Raspberry Razor and she was playing on Freedom around 10:00 or 11:00 AM central time.

It depends on your level. My main alt did the cape mission last night as soon as I hit 20 and I got the lost. When my main toon did it on the release of issue 2 I got the Rikti, I was about lvl 30 then.

I had Rikti, I believe it's probably due to the level that you do it at. Lost top out at level 30, and Rikti start then, so for the over 30's crowd that do the mission they get Rikti.

Of course he could! Master Chief "needs a weapon" :P.

(That'll make sense if the commercial for Halo 2 is the same in the US as it is Canada.)

Yep. My scrapper completed the cape mission last night, which was previously bugged. But, i think the cape mission still has the +1 bug. I had a lvl 10 controller sidekicked to 19. The mission was littered with red lost bosses (sometimes 2 bosses per mob pack) and all mobs were +1. I needed to call my lvl 26 scrapper friend to complete the mission for me.

Every other time i've duo'd the cape mission, the mobs have been even con. Maybe i'm wrong.

But thank you for fixing the "failure bug".

Posi, I'd like to point that I just now (like 1 hour ago) attempted a timed Lost mission in the 25-29 lvl range (which I wasn't told was timed by the contact btw), which apparently involved securing a portal.

I was warned beforehand that that mission was bugged (mission failed within 5 mins, apparently because of mobs attacking the portal I was to protect), but knowing cape/war wall had been fixed I thought it would be fine.

It wasn't. So if you could please address that particular mission fixing as you did cape mish et al, that would be nice

PS: I didn't even get a "mission complete" text so that I could check the mission name. All I know is that it was a Lost mission which involved portal corp and had a 2h timer on it (which I thought was odd).

I had a Lost mission last night where I had to defend 2 machines. The 1st one was fine. The second one was in a small room with 3 different groups in it. That was 9 total Lost and 3 of them Anethmas. When I came with in aggro range of the 1st group, which was right by the door all of them attacked the machine. Need less to say I was angry to fail the mission.


No one pays attention to me, cause I listen to the voices in my head.

Yep. Did mine last night. First time too. I heard about the bug and was wondering if you guys had fixed it. Well, the three Lost (2 minions and 1 Lt) near the capsule, didn't even attack it once! They only had eyes for me. Lucky!

AWESOME, last week as a Level 21 Tanker I tried to do it, and I got my assests wiped clean!!!

it appears (to me at least!) that you get Rikti vs. Lost depending on your level. My lvl 20 Defender got Lost. My lvl 30 tanker got Rikti.

The fix worked perfectly for me. Well granted I hit level 20 just a little after the fix took place, but I didn't experince the problems others described from before the fix. Although I did fail the cape mission once, it was when I was facedown in the same room of the time caspule, and the second time I beat it with no problems.

Actually it now seems it is impossible not to complete them. I did wall mission last night, lost (wasn't my fault really, 3 mobs on machine and 2 patrols decide to walk by during fight one of which with a communications officer, I took out 9 before machine was destroyed) and still got the Defender of the Wall badge. More like Loser of the Wall badge.

I logged a bug on it.

That mission needs some text added for when you lose though. Going in it says the whole war rests on your shoulders, but if you lose it doesn't say anything. It should at least say you held them off long enough for other heros to come in and save the day for you or something...
