18/21 - though I think the representation for the Flash is just wrong and I still have no idea who Commander Courage and Nova are.

I was exploring around the work of art that is Striga Isle, marveling at all the new changes in I3, thinking this is the best Issue i've seen yet. That was until i decided to take a break and go check out the Paragon Dance Party...
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?!?! First you give us a run-down warehouse with obnoxious repetitive music, couches we can barely fit ourselves on, and god forbid more than one person, but now the lights are on. I understand there were alot of changes made in I3, but how on earth could you screw this up? It's bad enough but now there's no ambience and we have to see the ugly warehouse in all it's brightly-lit glory. Roleplayers are some of this game's most loyal players and it was sortof offensive that this was really the only addition to roleplaying we've gotten in an issue yet, but now... ugh. i have to go take a deep breath and calm down. this is disgusting.

Seriously? The dance party ruins the release of issue 3 for you that much? Wow. Life must be one big disappointment after another. If you found a bug or think something is wrong, just turn it in. Keep insulting, petty comments out of your bug report and wait. It'll get fixed quickly. -

We will be revamping some of this stuff so crazy sitations like being put in an area that's WAAAAAYYYY too tough doesn't happen.

You had Rikti in your cape mission? Mine, and every other person's I've helped with, was againt the Lost... has it changed? Does it vary? Am I just being plain dumb?
[/ QUOTE ]
It depends on your level. My main alt did the cape mission last night as soon as I hit 20 and I got the lost. When my main toon did it on the release of issue 2 I got the Rikti, I was about lvl 30 then. -
Striker struggles against the bonds placed about him by the evil Boss Lady.
"You'll never get to Paragon City in time! Mua ha ha!!" cries Boss Lady.
"But the citizens of Paragon need me! I cannot abandon them now, today of all days!"
But it's no use, Striker knows he is restricted to this slightly larger than average cubicle, with a window (hey seniority!) for at least another 5.5 hours.
Thanks guys, I can't wait to get home! Looks like the kitchen will have to wait to be cleaned for another month. -

Sorry to say it, but players don't usually know what they're asking for.

Players don't have the "big picture", they don't know what's best for the game in the long run. If you are really unhappy with how the game is going, make some suggestions on how to improve it. Positive suggestions are always your best bet. If that isn't working to your satisfaction, play another game. Nothing speaks louder than cancelled subscriptions.

This is very true. I work in tech support for a software company (not one like Cryptic, but accounting and retail software). I hear all the time from users (players) on how they want what they want and they don't understand how anyone could not want what they want.
It's up to my company and our developers to see the big picture and how it affects all other users. We have to project into the future and see what will work best for the majority of users.
I trust Statesman and the other developers to develop a fun, challenging game. If I didn't, they would have my money (and my recommendations to friends). I've loved this game since I first loaded up the beta programs. With the first 'issue' released I loved it even more, playing on the training server is just getting me on a roll. I can't wait until the next 'issue' comes out .. and don't get me started on Statesman's announcment ... Boo-Ya To-Ya Jack!
Quite frankly, they are getting huge numbers of people who love the game. If anyone doesn't like it I'm sure they will be sad to see you go, but they won't miss you that much.
The longevity of this game depends on new content and as far as I'm concerned I think they are delivering. If subscriptions drop dramatically they'll adjust. Count on it.
If you really hate the game... go away. Periodically, check the website to see if the changes you want are implemented. If they are, then come back (Yes, yes create your character anew. Get over it.) and play with us again. If you never see the changes you want, then stay away. That'll show 'em! -
I love this thread and I really wish it had been up when I was starting out. Here are some of the best comments I've seen (some are flat out cut and pasted, some use my own wording). As well as a couple I completely disagree with.
Things I learned completely by accident:
- You can combine two enhancements that are already locked in a power.
- The space bar sends you straight up while in flight.
- When fighting Sky Raiders look for and attack the Raider Engineers first. If they are attacked (taunted, provoked, whatever) they won't setup a force field generator, which make you miss 9 ways to Sunday.
- No matter how high of a building you jump off of, you can't die from it. (Which makes for a fun game. How close to the ground can you get before hitting hover?)
- Putting heal buff enhancements on Rest is useless. I wasted extra slots on this as well. Use recharge enhancements.
- Clicking the "Mission Completed" message on the top display will transport you out of the mission. I think I was level 8 before I learned this lesson.

Things I completely disagree with
- Missions are terrible exp.
Missions are almost always full of white baddies and some yellows. An occasional same level boss is thrown in. Don't stay away from missions because you can hunt +1 or +2 levels above you. They are great fun. I take great pride in the fact I have 13-15 souvenirs at level 31.
- Debt is not a big deal, unless you only do missions.
Debt isn't a big deal period... unless you die over and over and are in a constant state of debt. In this case, rethink the way you play... or whine and moan about it in these forums. The latter must work... I see so much of it.
- You can't change your super group colors or symbol.
Actually you can, but it ain't for the weak of heart. First, get everyone out of the supergroup. If there are no members to the supergroup then it can be recreated as if it were new. Granted, this is more viable during the supergroup creation than when there are 75 members, but that's all we've got for now.

Other random thoughts
- There really are powers that are not worth taking...ever.
Someone wanted to know which ones. As a blaster who has made this mistake don't take the Leadership power pool. As someone else has already said - if you are not a defender or controller stay clear of these..the 7% buff is not worth it. I'm very upset over my choice here. Luckily I'll go through the Terra Volta Trials as soon as the next issue comes out. Hopefully the rumors are true and I'll get to dump the entire pool and pickup something useful like Medicine or Conceal.

The most important tips I've seen
- Ignore the jerks. They can't ruin your fun unless you let them. (I couldn't have said it better myself.)
- The stanima power in the fitness power pool is one of the most powerfull powers of them all.
If you take nothing way from this entire thread know that the Fitness Pool is your best friend. Build your hero so that you can take Stamina at lvl 20 (the earliest you can get it). Six slot Stamina as soon as you can. Just get Heath and either of the other powers to get to Stamina. Don't bother with all 3, but at least get Health. Its not as great as Stamina, but it ain't bad.
That's all my thoughts for now.
