Update # 3 - Anyone?

Revamped Ice and Stone armor graphics, right?
....
....right?!!
[/ QUOTE ]
I _like_ my pile-a-p%$ stone armor. Don't take it away! What other game lets you be a hero that looks like something that floats in the sewers?
[ QUOTE ]
God Forbid! Update #2 was hideous enough. (Update #3 and its inevitable river of bugs would be the final landslide that would wash the remaining veteran players away.)

Not me.

I like what they did with Update 2, Yes launch day was a little rocky. I'm still feeling the sting of it. but everything seams to be working now.

Wow, you'd think that was the first patch day anyone had ever been through.
And if it has, here's a word of advice.
No matter what company does it.
No matter what MMOG it is for.
No matter what their past record is at patching.
Never play on patch day!
If you do, never complain about problems on patch day.
No matter how much testing gets put into a patch there's always, always, always going to be something missed. Sometimes it's something minor which can sit until the next patch day. Sometimes, though, it is something major that causes loads of people problems and needs drastic measures to fix, like a rollback or some such. Playing on patch day is silent assent that all play (dispise people who call it work, if it's work, quit the game already, we're here to play not work!) on that day can disappear.
I've seen it with AC too many times to count and Turbine is one of the best people running an MMORPG out right now. They've committed to monthly updates and while 90%+ of them go of without a hitch there have been some doozie patch days.
Same thing with Funcom, SOE, and others though I don't hold them in as high esteem as Turbine.
Trust me, as a major patch goes Issue 2 was sweet. As a patch day goes the day I2 went live was one of the smoother releases. Typical Cryptic style.
Well, yes, when it gets down to a week or two before release and they aren't telling us something about the game, that's building hype. However, at this point, 2-3 months before release, things are certainly going to change around to an unknown extent, and if they tell us "Trenchcoats in Issue #3!", and then have to back out of that promise, that would be very bad for them. I believe that's why States usually teases us.
First of all "Hoody Hoo", Statesman responded to 1 of my posts.
Second of all, his quote was great.
Third thanks everyone who's responded to this thread (although mostly due to Statesman). Have to give the salute to our fearless leader.
Hopefully soon, a little bit of content will "officially" leak out.
But again I have to say "Hoody Hoo"
Night Arrow is patiently waiting his chance to unleash justice on those who break the law
I aggree there is more I would like to see, but one thing that has bugged me from the beginning is that you can'm make fat ppl. I would like a slider at the bottom for weight (just like the Muscularity and Height sliders). I have other things I am interested in, but that is one I have wanted since day one.
Have Fun, but don't get caught (and stop only doing the first missions - you know who yo are - lol)

Half expected a "neener neener" at the end of that statement.
yea, bow and arrow would be pretty cool, there are a whole bunch of heroes/heroines that use bow and arrow, ancient and modern, as for ancient, there was Orion, I know that one, and probably some other mythological heroes or gods/godesses. Robin hood is also a good one, middle ages though. On the modern front, I don't know of any although theres Green Arrow in Justice League Unlimited (hes kind of a modern day Robin Hood) and the bow whipping kid in Teen Titans (forget the name). That kind of powerset has gotta be ranged, after all, archery are powerful ranged opponents.
Any idea what the heck a sonic powerset would have? (not Sonic the hedgehog in case some kids are thinking that) Because the only hero I know of that uses it is Banshee in the marvel comics and was associated with the X-Men. Could be controller/defender based? as i don't see how it would be used for a tanker/blaster/scrapper for anything other than a defensive power.
Oh yea, there was that villian in Batman Returns (not sure if thats the right one, its the one with the new batman in the year 2050 or so) that used sonics, lasted only one episode though.

Wings will be reserved for the Epic AT for issue 3. Wings as a costume option will be later down the pipe.

I DEMAND THAT IMPS BE TURNED INTO WEASELS OF WARFARE!! I would love to see that bow and especially the trenchcoat in there though, trechcoat more though...
Give me trenchcoats and dual pistols and I'll be a very very happy man.
...'Guess'timates follow...
What are we going to see?, what do people want to see.
More AT balance and difficulty at higher levels. That new Non-Combat Automatci/Detective/Crafting/ -GawdOnlyKnows system.
And personally I'd like to see 3 more things...
--Limit the Level of Mobs allowed to spawn in all Zone. IE: If a level 50 run through Atlas Park on a Story Arc, the highest level Ambush that can spawn for him will be level 7's. ...Level 10's in King's Row, ...Level 20's in Steel Canyon ...etc.
--A second Tram-Stop in the South-West part of Independance Port.
--Extra Groups of Patrol-AI Mob Spawns in Hazard Zones(except PP and Hollows) similar to the ones in Missons currently but their Group Leaders have GroupTravel powers like 'Inertial Reduction', 'Speed Boost', and 'GroupFly'.
Rumors of trench coats. Also before was mentioned longer skirts etc.
Yes
I would like to see some more options at character creation.
More Hair Styles, More than 1 jacket, Animal Heads would be fun etc. Longer Skirts for Female Characters, Heck even cigars for women (for those who want them).
Issue 4/5 "Fat" body types in 4, Animal/Quadrapeds in 5... Maybe even "digitigrade legs"(toepads touch ground, heel joint elevated).
Maybe a Plastic Surgery Shop, where you could go back and change your body slider and gender, if you wanted to.
New body styles would be nice (and available in surgery shop).
Likely Not gonna happen, (??)
Of course the standard, new bad guy groups, new zones etc.
Hard to say but probaby a sure bet since they've got Animators and WorldBuilders employed full time.
Well, if we're going to turn this into a wishlist for Issue 3, then I'll join in.
I'd just like the special interiors from Issue 2 spread around more. I started a new character and got a mission with the 5th warehouse. That was great! I was really glad to see something other than the usual warehouse.
Later I got a mission about the Hellions being in an abandoned office building. I'd seen pics of the new Hellions abonded office, so I thought I'd see more special stuff.
No, it was just the same abandonded office interior that I've seen many dozens of times before. The same thing happened with a Skulls drug lab.
My new character is up to level 9 now and has still only seen the one new interior. *Please* use these new tilesets more. There are a lot of missions that could use them without changing anything else in the missions. The regular tilesets are so badly overused. I'd love the extra variety.
The ability to go down to icons and change the apperance of my pets. I am a magical controler and my phantom army looks sort of more of a psi-tech thingy from a gritty B-grade sci-fi movie.
When we train and select a pet power we should be able to design it as we see fit. Including selecting the avatar. If we choose a super hero avatar we get all the options including cape and effects provided your qualified to have them.
Some people might want to have exact duplictes of thier character or a similar apperance. Wether thier trying to duplictor heroes, the fast guy who is so fast hes evrywhere or somone who pulls alternate versions of himself from other dimensions.
Some or Most of the pet avatars might only have a color filter as they were not desighned with the hero creater. But i at least want to be able to use the hero desighner to desighn my pets.
When we go to Icons. We should have the option of creating as many diffrent versions for each pet power as we have costumes for ourselves. When we are on our pet window we should have the option of selecting a specific appearance or the ability to select a random appearance. If the poweer summons more then one pet at a time we should have the option of selecting of keeping the appearance uniform or have each one selcected at random. In the case of Phantasm it supposed to summon a duplicate of itself whatever its apperance is.
I do remember from the old pre beta boards that pet customation was supposed to be among one of the first steps
of power customation. If We dont see it in update #3 it should definatley belong in update #4.

There have been TWO modern Green Arrows in DC. There's Hawkeye in Marvel. DC's Arsenal (formerly Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy) and Huntress use crossbows. Image had Shaft. Top Cow has Arwyn, who is technically not modern, but her comic (Sojourn) is popular right now. And watch, when I mention Legolas, some female is going to swoon right here in the thread.
There are a lot of archers, and there will be more when they give us the power set.

I belive you are referring to "Batman Beyond" on the 'ol WB. Yep, that'd be "Shriek" I belive. He had a robotic glove/helm combo (technology) that granted him the ability to channel sound waves in a sort of blaster/controller way.
It was purely an offensive power, with good controller abilities. Generally, you could have single target sonic blasts, cone sonic blasts, the "annoying screech in ear" mez, if a blaster a PBAoE "Sonic Boom" is possible.. I don't see being able to be a blaster who has the ability to mez, but perhaps switching it to a disorient..? *shrug*
Oh, and I do remember at least one more episode with him in it. Perhaps two, but I cannot remember if the two scenes I remember are not from the same ep...
Dual Pistols would be cool, also a Staff fighting Martial Arts would be cool.
Staff fighting and Trenchcoat, and you could make a Gambit type character.
Dual Pistols and Trenchcoats, and we might see to many "Neo's".
I think a Pistol Pool would be cool. Some range attacks you can add to your character. would be real useful for a scrapper. when that last guy runs away. You can pull out a pistol and shot him.
Heck even 1st Level Hellion Brawlers can do that.

I think Shreik was in three episodes. His origin one "Shreik", one (sorry, forgot the episode name) where he garbled all speech citywide and threatned to set this power on kill unless Batman surrendered. The last one he was in was "Where's Terry?", I think. Basically Batman goes spelunking in the subway system, gets caved in by Shreik, meets a kid that helps Batman out and... well don't want to spoil it.
That said, Shreik like powers would be fun. I do hope that they have bearable sounds.

oh yeah...that's right, power pools
right now all the power pool attacks are smashing, which is great for those lethal people trying to broaden their damage types, but give us something for the smashing centric characters to use to...
for example, maybe a "Streetwise" power pool that includes a knife attack, or a "Survival" power pool that includes a torch for a fire attack...

yea thats the one I meant and yea it was a purely offensive power (think controller/defender).
A sonic type powerset would have to be pretty powerful because ANYTHING with ears wouldn't be able to resist it. Although foes with helmets (5th col, nemesis, crey) could be able to resist it with sound padding and all. Not sure how robots/mechanical stuff would be resist to it cause bieng computerized, they might be able to filter out the sound, unless its the kind of sonics that can damage material.
Not even sure if it'll work on DE cause it doesn't look like they have ears of any sort, although the devoured bosses would have ears of some kind.
