you're probably right, but since there are supposed to be interactions between player villians and player heroes, I'm pretty sure there will be an intermediate area where both can go into. Since Striga Isle is supposed to be way out there, I wouldn't be surprised if that ended up as a PvP area between player villians and heroes, but since that place has too much importance in it story-wise, I doubt that will happen.

I agree with you on the look of the city from the screenshots, looks like Batmans Gotham city.
I'm not sure how they are going to 'integrate' it into CoH, like will it be a different city off somewhere or is it a niegboring area (like a NYC burough) that is older/more run down/poorer or something.
Also, the pics that show the city seem to have an atmosphere shared by brickstown and kings row (look on the map, they are catually right next to each other), so it could work like that, bieng a 'red light' district. -

I'm pretty sure there will be at LEAST 5 ATs in CoVhe just didn't say which kinds
I think the part about bieng no Icon in CoV territory is a lieof course there will be one, just an evil version thats only accessable by going into a dark alley, popping into the sewers until you get to a set of stairs that leads to an abandoned warehouse door where there is a dim light flickering above it and a diffuse white light comes out of the bottom

QA almost always checks even the most minor fixes to make sure we didn't do something stupid like make every member of the "kill skuls" forum an admin or something.

same goes for my SG collective, which we call Doom Supremacy as a whole. While yes it was a little clunky to use and not perfect, it actually did its purpose 100% of the time, which was act as a common chat so that all the separate groups can comminicate more effectively
Yes we knew coalition chat was going to come out and that it was likely to be a whole lot better than this and probably different in several ways, but Global Chat worked well enough to do what we wanted it to do.... -

yea, it stopped working like 20-30 minutes ago, it just suddendly stopped working and it has seemingly lunctuated on and off since then but not actually working. It was flunctuating like it was trying to work properly but couldn't.....

what about alliance chat? or is that the same thing as global, just a diff channel?... ALOT of SGs got dissapointed when it didn't come out.... I mean yea we understand that you had to fix some bugs and all, but ppl anticipated it to go live at the same time as issue 3...

another little idea would be to have the snowballs exert a small inertial force in the direction of throw when the victim is on ice. Although I don't know how they would manage to do this with the physics of the game, this might become a form of griefing, but could be used in fun ways...

well, ok, no status affects then, but I guess there could easily be a notification like something over your head, just some text or a symbol that appears to everybody. Although this could cause some lag problems if theres a large number of ppl, as in PI, AP or GC.
They also should have the same range as the typical throwable stuff like the grenades of the device lines and a couple temp powers, although a sniper range would be more fun
your idea is good too Kendal. As far as the Hollows, which has a pretty huge lake, its possible to remove the spawns or at least lessen thier number in the area cause those trolls will be freezing if they are in the lake. Since they already have a sort of spawn change between night and day in the SE area of Talos where the BP spawn, so its entirely possible. -
a snowball would be easy to do, just have the rock renamed snowball and be useable on players
just have it no damage, a small knockdown to it (like if you got whacked in the head by a good sized snowball
). It should be a limited amount of throws per minute OR have some sort of end drain to prevent ppl from whacking someone endlessly and griefing. Or maybe have it be a recharge that isn't affected by haste, about the time someone could make a snowball, 10-30 seconds would be reasonable. That way it should stay fun

your thought about TI and IP is a cool, but not completely reasonable as saltwater freezes at a lower temp than freshwater does. Although the lakes and rivers around paragon should freeze over

I'm pretty sure it was only that rogue Oberst (forget his name) and his followers that wanted to go there. It seems like the 5th col is a pretty diverse group, despite its facist ways, there was even a mission where some ubermench actually wanted to let crey study him and his comrades didn't like it. -

Its just a patch from test center thats all, the event hasn't actually happened yet. -
I've had the robot mission repeatedly like during last month, I really don't think the repeat missions have anything to do with this.
I support the halloween event idea, it should be very funEven though the CoH community is international (mostly USA, some Brits, Canadians, Mexicans?, French, and other places, met one person who was in Japan), I'm sure those who don't actually celebrate Halloween will enjoy the occasion

Anyway, my guess is either this has to do with Issue 3, (though I'm suprised it's coming so soon after Issue 2), or else this is leading into a Halloween event with armies of werewolves and vampires stalking the streets of Paragon. Personally, I'd like it to be the latter, I got plenty of wooden stakes and silver bullets to use up.

lol, that idea HAD to be outta Indiana Jones and the 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.
How the hell would they do a time control powerset? this means that whenever someone activated a power EVERYTHING in the ENTIRE zone would have to be affected and thats easier done in a single player game than a MMPPORG because everybody has to feel the effects too, and what happens if more than one person uses the same power?
Something like degeneration or self regeneration (regressing or accelerating (age) mobs/heroes locally) for a single target could work, or maybe a bubble of time where time is effectively stopped, but the detention bubble for FF does the same thing.
I can only imagine gun wielding women heroes from manga cartoons wearing rabbit ears :P -

I'm pretty sure that one of the Devs said Archery was going to be a Blaster/Defender powerset. I can't remember where, it might have been in an interview.

you don't need a dev comment to know that archery is GOING to be a blaster/dev powerset, if anybody has watched or read anything about archery will know that archery is ranged. Geez, read the history books :P, especially ones on warfare or hunting. -

I belive you are referring to "Batman Beyond" on the 'ol WB. Yep, that'd be "Shriek" I belive. He had a robotic glove/helm combo (technology) that granted him the ability to channel sound waves in a sort of blaster/controller way.
It was purely an offensive power, with good controller abilities. Generally, you could have single target sonic blasts, cone sonic blasts, the "annoying screech in ear" mez, if a blaster a PBAoE "Sonic Boom" is possible.. I don't see being able to be a blaster who has the ability to mez, but perhaps switching it to a disorient..? *shrug*
Oh, and I do remember at least one more episode with him in it.Perhaps two, but I cannot remember if the two scenes I remember are not from the same ep...

yea thats the one I meant and yea it was a purely offensive power (think controller/defender).
A sonic type powerset would have to be pretty powerful because ANYTHING with ears wouldn't be able to resist it. Although foes with helmets (5th col, nemesis, crey) could be able to resist it with sound padding and all. Not sure how robots/mechanical stuff would be resist to it cause bieng computerized, they might be able to filter out the sound, unless its the kind of sonics that can damage material.
Not even sure if it'll work on DE cause it doesn't look like they have ears of any sort, although the devoured bosses would have ears of some kind. -
