Old techniques?
Also, impressive.
Chu used my mish XD -
Quote:And i thought i was a nerd. O.OWell you can be strong without being fast. Being able to jump far has as much to do with fast-twitch muscle movement (or the superhero equivalent) is as important as strength.
In comicdom, the Thing is a good example of one not being able to jump far despite being superstrong. Gray Hulk once beat him by super-jumping away from him, forcing Thing to huff-&-puff run to catch up, wearing him out in the process.
Awesome
I figured TP comes quite close to this. Maybe a less...boring animation would be good though. -
Low budget i would say claws/wp brute. Really just plain old fun with even just SOs, great to lvl up from 1 to 50.
Mid budget: SD/fire/pyre tank. Can be soft capped if only a few sets, sweet dmg and unkillable
High budget: SS/fire brute, enough dps to solo (some) AVs...with your AoE attacks. And the ability to out survive a surprising amount of tanks.
And Mind/fire doms. Without perma dom a dominator is just a ****** troller but once you get perma dom they are....awesome. -

If you are going to use macros i highly recmmend have an attack in them. That way just as you naturally go thru your attack chain you you combine insp.

Quote::')I personally like using the FIRE! arc (#423253) on 51/8 as it's a 5 mission arc so you can just talk to the contact and re-enter without selecting the mission again from the AE console. I kill until I get 750 tickets, click the glowie for another 750 tickets, rinse and repeat. Roughly 9000 tickets in 9 minutes, sometimes a little quicker, sometimes a little slower.
chu ran my arc XD
Watched the video and it looks like you did it in 7:40 or so without load times. Pretty impressive.
However, i seem to find that tickets are a bit...odd lately. And it might be an unreliable way to gauge speed. -
Actually, the support lore pets end up with 3:50 out of 10 for the dmging pet and 5 out of 10 for the support pet.
At t4 at least. -
Not true, consume is currently bugged and doesnt offer any of the resist it is supposed to. Its really starting to piss me off that this hasnt been fixed

Quote:I would think they cant, not without gimping the build anyway.Hmmm. Can a Shield Tank get to soft cap on SO's? If so, lots of possibilties there.
EDIT: just a few quick minutes in mids got me these numbers, awful end up but its soft capped and not even close to a complete build. Damn, SD tanks are badass.

SS/fire, if you have the cash to get it IOed a bit. Imo, its one of the worst defensive sets out there with just SOs. But it also comes with a ton of AoE dmg.
Otherwise, as telperion said /dark and /regen (once it comes out) would be your best bet. I had an SS/regen on beta and damn is that fun (had an sj/regen before that and that was the most fun i had ever had on a toon in a long time) -
Quote:That just doesnt sound right. The double to hit rolls happen when a power has more than one effect. Some elec attacks return END to you, some sleep the target. Unfortunately, the combat tab doesn't tell you what it is rolling for, the first to hit roll would be for the attack, and if it hits, then a second roll for the secondary effect.
-
Quote:Only people who thing they know everything are annoying. Well, that and another SS/fire/mu build.Wow the damage is high in this one! Is there some sort of cap this is over doing?
I'm sorry if my ignorance is annoying.
I for one recomend soul mastery so you can get gloom if you plan to solo the warehouse. You need good STdps, and elec doesnt come with a lot built in. -
just use email and send inf over from a toon that does have 1mil.
-
At this point, like gameboy said, we would need the EXACT text.
As far as i know secondary affects and proc dont show up in tohit, as they dont use that mechanic to determine if they hit or not. (other than than the fact that the power needs to hit of course) -
If you are looking at the combat window i think i know what you are looking at.
When use a power that isnt autohit it shows you the tohit chance (In your case it was 95%) then there is a second number, your tohit ROLL which is think is likely 0.00-99.99 or so, i think.
If the tohit ROLL is lower than your tohit CHANCE you hit.
So thats why a 95% chance will hit 95% of the time, since 95% of the possible rolls are smaller. While a 5% will only hit 5% of the time since only 5% of the rolls are smaller. Since your roll was 14% and your chance was 95% you hit your target.
I hope that makes sense -
One problem with debuffs, imo, is that they are pretty much useless against anything weaker than an AV (useful for EBs on the smaller teams though). My main (a brute) generally kills entire spawns before a trap toon can even sets up.

Quote:Thank you, im trying quite hard to be this wrong. XDGiven the number of times you have been demonstrably and factually wrong with respect to Warshades and what their powers do and do not do, I think this might be a good time for you to quit while you are behind.
On the other hand, in this almost entirely subjective thread about player preferences, you have managed to be objectively wrong, and for that I salute you.
Quote:Not quite. I was in fact saying that everything my brute contributed to a team, my Bots/Traps did better. There is nothing my brute brings to a team that my Bots/Traps does not.
Both roles of the brute are surpassed by the same character. This is not saying "a Tank is better at aggro control and a scrapper is better at damage, so the Brute is useless." I agree that's a ridiculous statement.
A ****** brute and an MM that goes beyond the impossible, cranks it up to 11 AND divided by zero. In short, a badass. And it seems to have affected your opinion of brutes. I know the opposite happened to me (not exactly with just MMs though) my brute is badass, he tends to bring more dmg than a decent chunk of blasters i run into as well as out survive quite a few tanks i've run across. So to me, brutes are actually one of the best melee ATs in the game, but really i just happen to enjoy playing them.
Would an equally good scrapper bring more dmg? of course
Would an equally good tank be more survivable? damn right
But to ME a brute is amazing, just like to you a bot/trap or WS is amazing. Our favorite toons, if we play them a lot, end up affecting the very way we think about the game. Because when I hear stun 10 targets permanently I simply think you should have just killed them with fire But that doesnt mean being able to do that is useless, infact its pretty freakin useful, I just dont enjoy it. -

Oh, dotn get me wrong. I would love a swinging set JUST because its rediculous that you can use it when there is nothing to hook onto. I was just saying that the only power i can think of that we dont have is generally depicted as...not great.
As for jumping on water, i think its badass. And i totally think SS REALLY needs to be able to run on it (but i understand its likely way more work than its worth to do that) >.< -
Quote:Dont forget brutes SMASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The strength of a WS is in their versatility, their ability to do all of those things. Similarly, it is the strength of a Brute (for example) to both deal damage and control aggro.
They also debuff things all dead and dead like real good. :P -
Quote:I think this is a wonderful point. And i build a lot of my toons to be like this, my SS/fire being the most successful, the way i see it if i can solo something then i bring that to any team i join. No matter how crappy it is. My brute can solo the ITF quite easily, so if i join with a team of newbs who have completely gimped builds and have never done the TF we will still be able to complete the task with relative ease.IMO, what side you're on in this depends on how important you think it is to solo content. For me, soloing is king. I build to solo, and if I can bring benefit to a team through the things that help me solo, that's great. That means most of my characters are generalists - they have to be good at damage dealing and damage mitigation. As a result, they may not be as good at either as a more specialized, team-oriented build would be.
I fail to see how something like that isnt valuable to a team.
Im gonna leave now so this thread gets back on track. -
Quote:So i guess that would mean that WSs serve no perpose either. Since trollers control better, defs debuff better, blasters/scrappers kill stuff better, tanks...tank better. So then by your definition Brutes have no purpose, since Tankers have better mitigation and gauntlet, and Scrappers deal better damage in many circumstances.
At least to me. :P
