Best No IO/Incarnate Farm Toon?

When freedom hits I might pick up a second, premium account, with the intent of PL'ing my main account's guys or making inf while I pay other people to PL them. What do people think are the best SO-only solo farmers? Are there any?

Fire/Kin Controller. They're very easy to play, and you could probably farm decently well without enhancements. Although, remember that Freem accounts have a lower inf cap, depending on what Tier they're at, so that might curtail your farming efforts!

On SOs, assuming AE ambush farms (as it's the most efficient way to PL right now), I would think Claws/Fire would work better than SS/Fire. At low recharge levels you are not animation limited.

On only SOs claws, i would expect, would pull ahead. But if the SS/ get at least the FF+rech proc then SS might pull ahead. But i don't think premiums get to use any IOs or the market without paying for a license....

I thought Premium accounts couldn't use AE? Or is it just they can't lead an AE team like a trial account in the past.

I was thinking they could play it, just not get rewards from it, so the powerleveleD would still get their experience.

I'm a bit confused by all the premium/F2P stuff though, and maybe you're right in thinking it wouldn't work. If AE access isn't an option, I would probably backpedal to SS/Fire as the extra radius is a great boon in normal maps, and low recharge not too much of a problem as powers keep recharging while you run from mob to mob.

Thanks for the input.

Just noticed that you don't get to play AE with rewards as a Prem until tier 4. So, so much for that idea = /

This. If your status bar doesn't look like a Christmas tree it non-stop, you're doing it wrong. Just eat the whole tray every time it fills up and you can farm with anything really.

There's still a number of good maps in PI for farming. Not as good, but quite good none the less (and, generally, much more forgiving of the build... ambush farms will be a pain with SOs!). BM is always a classic

Indeed. I'm a 45 month vet and just this month leveled my first real farmer, discovered he needed inspirations to run, and subsequently started using them a lot more on all my toons.

Will probably roll a Emp or Kin Def and go back to escorting Statesman around the warrior farm mish he's in.

When it comes to inspirations, don't be like me.

My elec/fire brute on SO does decent in fire ambush. With less recharge, having more aoe attacks is awesome even if they arent necessarily the best attacks.

Edit*
I guess I should clarify, my laptop can only handle 0x6 on an ambush and that is what I run with this char. I don't know how much higher it could do. Most people might not call that decent for powerleveling. I get to 22 in a couple hours, so I'm happy with it.

Oh yea, is that the one where he uppercuts things for over 9000 damage? That mission is hilarious.

I use farms as yet another test to see how my toon stacks up (and to grab a few choice bronze rolls!). Can it survive long enough and kill at the correct rate to get non stop candies to eat to stay alive?

It too has also helped me break the bad habit of only eating insps right before I die. Always have 1 row empty and eat em as they come in. It has helped out alot. Its amazing how strong insps are in this game when you think about it, relative to any other MMO out there.

Out of the box there are a few sets that can perform with plain IO's without any intensive need of inspirations.

Inv tanker gets softcap without problem (weave and CJ 3slot added) and has near cap SL resist. In such, SL farm maps are easy (pop a green once in a while). Brute version lacks about 10% defense, 1 purple should work that out, maybe add a extra orange to get hit less hard.

WP tank needs 1purple/1orange along with the basic defense powers to do +2 without any problem.

Shield can hit softcap, but the lack of decent resist can be tricky against +2 bosses, green and orange adviced. However, with /elec, can do quite alot of damage.

Yeah, they dont kill as fast as SS or claw/fire brutes, but then again, they wont die that easy if you run out of inspirations.

(inspiriations based on +1 and +2 x 8 ambush).

I'm debating between Claws/Fire Brute on the Demon Farm or a Kin Defender on the Statesman's Farm for my free account to help level my own alts if the need arises.

Well, all these newer builds are nice, and I have seen them in action, lemme tell you they do the job quickly, but the only weakness I have seen on each and every one of them is they are very inspiration dependent. No big deal just a timing thing being able to chug them and run in then chug more half way through etc etc. I played back in beta, left the game back in 06 or 07 and have recently come back, been back now for a few months. Logged on my old faithful, fire/ice tank and started solo farming trying to get the hang of things again. I don't have any problems with anything and I forget about the insp bar 9 times out of ten because I simply don't need it (all of this was of course after a couple of respecs to get the hang of the way things work these days understand), most of my old enh are either 53 SO or HAMI .... only a few IO's here and there, have not really gotten into the sets. Now this old build is not as fast as these others, nor is it as mobile as these others, but ..... its hard to kill, and its very very efficient with no use of insp, rest, or retreat, just a slow steady forward progression.

I would think they cant, not without gimping the build anyway.

EDIT: just a few quick minutes in mids got me these numbers, awful end up but its soft capped and not even close to a complete build. Damn, SD tanks are badass.
