I pretty much stopped playing my Ninja/Dark MM once he got to 50, but I logged in with him to move him to a new Day Job location and I opened up his Recipes and he had a Purple. I can't remember what it was, but he couldn't use it so I sold it for some great Inf.

Quote:That's exactlly what I'm thinking. I bet Dr. V is a loyalist (possibly even in the Praetorian Guard) and he makes Ghouls out of captured Resistance members, those who "volunteered" for overseas operations, and those who failed the test to get onto the PPD.You're all forgetting something significant about Dr. V in that he perceived himself as a Good Guy. Praetorian Dr. V, as a fully evil bad ***, might have decided to put his medical knowledge to a far more sinister application than 'Good Guy' Dr. V, who was already pretty far off into the ****** up territory.
It's fully likely that Praetorian Dr. V is working *for* Tyrant. Tyrant gives him access to dead bodies, likely people who have stood against him, and sicks him upon the sewer system where he knows the resistance is gathered. It's a win/win for everyone, really.
Assuming he's behind any of that at all, of course. It could be something we've never even heard about, but the giant red collars point to a 'tech' based aspect, and Dr. V is the most obvious person to have scientifically created undeath. -
I'm thinking the Ghouls are Praetorian Vahz as well.
I also noticed that Calvin Scott is a Mercs/Traps MM. If we get to fight him at some point I wonder if he'll get his own "Resistance" Mercs. -
Freaks and Nemesis.
I love the look and the personality of the Freaks. Not many villain groups will taunt you in 1337speak. Even the Freak contact, Doc Buzzsaw, is great. I make it a point to run Buzzsaw's arcs on every villain I make. "Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?"
Nemesis is great because he's behind pretty much everything that goes on in CoH. While the "everything is a Nemesis plot" feeling gets a bit old (I'm out of coffee? It's a Nemesis Plot!), I love the obsurd and drawn-out plots of Nemesis. The Automatons are my personal favorite Nemesis enemy and I even made an Automaton character. -
I've never picked up any of the Vanguard pieces (except the gloves for obvious reasons) but I love the weapons. The Vanguard Katana is my Kat/SR Scrapper's second favorite sword and I think my Ninjas MM has the Vangaurd Bow. My Claws Stalker will be getting the Vanguard Claws ASAP to finish his "modern-day assassin" costume.
I may pick up the whole costume set eventually for my Nemesis Automaton character so he can properly blend in within the War Zone. -
Not a quote exactly, but the funniest line I've ever seen in-game was the description of a clue in a Newspaper mish:
Quote:The Microchip
The chip is labeled "tp jammer". Wonder what it's supposed to jam. Toilet paper? Cruel, but hardly effective. -
The other night, I rolled my new AR/NRG Blaster: Not A Nemesis Plot
I was shocked that it wasn't taken yet. NANP is a Nemesis Automaton. Right now he's in his "Civilian" disguise but he'll get some more when he unlocks more costume slots. -
Dual Blades/Ninjitsu Scrapper
Dual Pistols/War Mace Blaster -
Yeah, it'll only get gen'd if it violates a copyright or is offensive.
If you decide to go with guns, try to get some variation of "2nd Amendment." I have no idea if that name is available anywhere or not, as I don't have access to CoH at this time. -
A WWTF would be great.
And thanks for the answers. It's nice to get to know more about the devs and get some insight into the game creation process. -
Quote:Captain Falcon could solo him too. Falcon Punch!Would Praetorian Hamidon, Chuck Norris or Blue Steel count if they tried?
-
I can no longer listen to "Manic Monday" without hearing the words "Malleus Mundi." That's the second song I've had ruined by the internet.
-
Good luck Niv! So long, and thanks for all the fish!
-
I highly doubt some could run a Rikti Ship Raid solo.
There are also several missions that require multiple synched glowie clicks. The Cavern of Transcendence Trial, the Hess TF, and few random mishes are like that.
And then there's the V-Day mishes that require a Hero on a Villain mish and a Villain on a Hero mish. -

Quote:Those were great.Brass: Ah yes, the cause of the Great Pun Riot of 06. The day Synapse picked up his salvage, stuffed it into the inert form of the smallest of clockwork and quipped Hey, Posi, looks like I finally got my Brass in Gear, huh?
Chronal Skip: I wonder what this does (skip) I wonder what this does (skip) I wonder what th (skip) I wonder wha (skip)
Page from the Malleus Mundi: Its just another Malleus Mundi ooh oh oh Wish it was Sunday cause thats my fun day just another Malleus Mundi -
Quote:I think NANP is on Pinnacle as well, but I have characters spread across five different servers so it's hard to remember who's where sometimes. However, NANP was made last night and is currently level 2.Dude, what server are you on? On pinn, I have "Notanarachnosspy" (Ill/Rad Controller dressed as a Longbow officer) and "Notalongbowspy" (Fortunata)

I'd put one under one of the "Spanky's Boardwalk" signs in Talos. Name would be "Under the Boardwalk"
Another would go in the far Northeast corner of Talos. Name would be "Hardcore Explorer". Description reads: "You must really be a hardcore explorer to come all the way out here"
I always thought there should be a badge on the dance floor of Pocket D called "Everybody Dance Now"
Another would go on one of the Carnival tents in St Martial. Names would be "Sideshow"
And finally, I'd add "Bargain Bin" next to Krazy Mark. Description reads, "You wanna buy a TV?" -
My Claws Stalker just discovered the joys of group Knockback with Shockwave. I absolutely love finishing guys with this power. Best one was a Security Guard that ended up with his face embeded in a wall.
-
I request Nemesis Soldier and Nemesis Automaton themes for Mercs. Then I could make "AlsoNotANemesisPlot" (Mercs/FF MM) to go with "Not A Nemesis Plot" (AR/NRG Blaster)
-
I'm hoping for more animal costumes in this pack. I realy want some bird stuff. I've been sitting on a great character idea for a couple of years now and I can't make him with bird parts.

I like the build I just poster in another thread.
It had:
Every henchmen power that MMs can get currently
One upgrade power for each type of henchmen
Assault
Maneuvers
Fulcrum Shift
and one other power.
This build assumes that by "Cherry Picking" you mean "take whatever you want whenever you want" since it ends up with a staggering 20 powers from primary pools. -
This topic has inspired me to create a new canon-based character. I read through it again and said "Wait, no one thought of this yet?" and had to do it. I proudly present Not A Nemesis Plot:
NANP is a Blaster. I knew AR would have to be its primary (though getting the Nemesis Rifles will be a pain) but I was at a loss for a secondary. I went with NRG and colored the powers as close to a Nemesis Staff blast as I could get. My current plan is to make each of his other costumes a different faction. Plans are for Midnighter, Longbow, Wyvern, and Nemesis Soldier (no one expects a Nemesis Plot disguised as a Nemesis Soldier!). -
My Stalker didn't get a single team invite the entire weekend. I thought that was weird. I did manage to take him from 20 to 31 solo though.
VG invites were going around alot. One of my newly created chars got a VG invite mere minutes after being created while she was still in the tutorial. -
I was going for a look that is unique, but recognizable as being part of the associated groups with these.
First is Total pwnage:
He's a Thugs/Dark MM. He was a member of the Hellions when his mutation manifested and he gained Dark powers like those of the Skulls. He was driven out of the Hellions (they thought he was a Skull spy) and tried to joins the Skulls but was attacked on sight for his Hellion reputation. So he started his own gang, the HelSkuls.
Second is T3h N1nj4 Fr34k:
He's a MA/Regen Scrapper. He was a Freakshow but neve felt like it was the life he wanted so he left and fled Paragon to avoid revenge from the Freaks. He wandered the country but was rejected everywhere he went. Then he found a dojo, and the people inside embraced him despite his "upgrades." They taught him enlightenment and trained him in martial arts. I thought Regen was approapiate for a Freak since they have Dull Pain and a Rez power.
