Not to sound like I am whining about it, i get it I bought it, but I never saw anything to that point. How is that my fault? I saw the proc on the store, saw that it was beta tested, and it went live so I bought it. Based on its performance as advertised. Now they are changing that performance and if it is the same as in game why would I have bought it?
  2. Enhancements

Reduced the procs per minute on the Store version of Performance Shifter: Chance for +End from 3 to 1.5 to be consistent with the Invention Origin version

Ummm, does this mean I can get all my points back that I spent on the in-store one since I spent, well "real" money on it because it had a better proc chance? Are you going to change all store bought procs because then I also want my points back on my other purchases as well.

    Just saying.
I understand the sentiments and not sure I remember that thread but I can see your point. Honestly, like I said in the last year that is what I spent and this is one of my few hobbies (wont confess what I spent on tennis rackets or books in the last year).

I am lucky that I am able to do such things at this point in my life. Working 70 hour + weeks has helped but I was just curious. I know some of you have been around longer then me (6 years here) but I was just curious how you saw the market. And if you have found it worthwhile, personally, I will say I am happy with the game in its current state. I still have oodles of points laying around since I tend to buy only the procs on market but with 2 accounts if something comes out I want, i am fortunate enough to be able to afford it. . .
  4. Reading through the wishlist/April Fool's list got me to thinking about how many points I have spent on the market this past year. Now let me preface this with I have really only 3 or 4 hobbies: CoH, reading, running, and playing tennis. My wife has even fewer which revolve around yoga, the tv, and tennis (wont even tell you the panic attack she had when she woke up yesterday and her tv wasnt working)!

Anyways, here is the bad news, in total, since Freedom went live I have spent nearly $650 in total between 2 VIP accounts. Not quite as bad as the emergency television purchase yesterday or the amount I spent on work related items in the last year but was just curious if there were more of you out there like me?

    Freedom Go Boom?

Maybe they are putting enhancement coverters in. . .

Nah, more likely just wanting to mess with me after a 13 hour day on a bum shoulder. .. . Curses!
  6. I will admit my wife and I love the Big Bang Theory. I was, am, and always will be a huge comic book geek/nerd/dork and this shows epitomizes some of the people that were my closest friends growing up (1 buddy became a doctor, 1 an engineer, and 1 a physicist - while I sadly managed to chase something I love to do and became a tennis pro hahahhahha).

Anyways, my wife DVR'd this episode since I had to work and she told me that I was missing something great. When I watched it, I gave out a WOOT! when they said City of Heroes and had to replay that scene. My wife rolled her eyes at me and called me a dork and then told me she loved me.

    :-)

    Freedom Go Boom?

Ok, I just tried to log-in on my 2 accounts and Freedom seems to have gone boom? Anyone else having this issue?
  8. Hey Bill,

Sorry for your loss but welcome back. I myself took a 2 month sabbatical to play that other game in a galaxy far, far away and found myself missing some of the same things you listed.

Not to mention, just feeling like my character was, you know, super powered! Welcome back, man, look forward to seeing more of you around here (and yeah, I said I was back temporarily and then wham, havent touched the other galaxy in 4 weeks now).
  9. I have been toying with my resurrected spines/fire/dark after the advent of the ATO's and I have so many builds not sure what direction to go. So far this one looks like the winner (once the d*** converters come out and I can convert 4 or 5 in set enhancements), but was hoping to get a little feedback.

I can juice my defenses a little more but not sure if it is worth the tradeoff of reducing recharge or swapping out the +res in Shield Wall. By the way the empty slots are for scrapper ATO catalyzed. Thoughts? Opinions?

ps: This toon has easily been respecced 20 times over his lifetime. Anyone else done that?

  10. So I decided to take my alpha slotted Spines/Dark/Fire Scrapper into DA to run the missions. He recently came out of retirement and has been enjoying a renaissance with his fancy new Catalized ATO's and his soft capped defense and Alpha slotted ability to run 9 or 10 toggles at once.

I did the first arc in DA and while challenging it was definitely fun. Then I decided to run some of the repeatables and second story arc and wow! The BP enjoys slapping him around like I am back at level 10 and running out of end!

Just curious how many of you alpha slotted or +1 only incarnates are fairing in DA and if any of you are soloing maxed out on difficulty.
  11. Here's my final build. I had retired this boy after playing him steady for almost 2 years, but with the introduction of the ATO's I brought him back out, redid his build, and have been having a blast with the puffy buzzsaw!

  12. Had a long post but found myself rambling so figured I would go short and sweet:

Should I go for Agility or Cardiac on the build below? With Agility i get my softcapped defense to all damage types (-psionic) or rely on Invincibility and take Cardiac to push my damage resistance?

I have also toyed with dropping Resist Elements to pick up Maneuvers and get rid of the 4 slotted brawl? Oh yeah the 3 empty slots are my Scrapper ATO's with the 5% defense boost (each) at level 50.

Thoughts would be appreciated! I do enjoy running this girl a +2/8 (or +3/8) at level 45 now.

    Awesome info ZM! Thanks.

Weren' these supposed to be on the market though? And looking at that spreadsheet it looks like the price would be rather cheap based on Reward Merits at 1+250K? Are you sure that is right?

Well, are you sure it is right based on current beta feedback?
  14. Been away a little while and came back about a month ago. Was toying with test before my little sabbatical and loved the enhancement converters. I thought they were coming out with the Super Packs but nothing, and now I cant even find the notes on beta about them.

Have any of the coffee talks or Ustreams mentioned when these might be coming out? I love this idea and have a couple builds I am waiting to put together - especially with ATO's and my luck at having umpteen number of Archanos ATO's and only 2 scrapper ATO's!

Edit: I have just seen a list of rewards from 24 packs and in total there were 6 xp boosts so it's a no from me.
Klaw, I opened about 20 of these this morning and had something like 16-20 xp boosts, 12 or so windfalls, several ATIO's that I actually wanted, and all the costume parts. Not to mention, about 1200 merits.

I know these things caused quite a bit of controversy in beta, but I bought them then and I will buy them now. I like the randomness; I play this game to get away from the absolutes of reality. When I have spare points I will buy them, when I dont I wont. Dont know why that causes all the rage posts.
  16. Here's the build my girl runs with. So far I feel like an unstoppable beast, I will see what DA does to her since she has yet to go through any Incarnate trials and will be one of my 3 toons i take the solo route on just to see how it goes.

    Bots/Time/Mace

Ok, i just have to say that while this boy doesnt kill nearly as fast as some of my brutes his survivability is RIDICULOUS! Looking at my numbers, once I hit 41 (9 bubbles to go) I will be softcapped to everything but psy on the incarnate trials. . . Could this possibly be accurate?

And if so, can I just say the ride to 40 has been fast, furious, and fabulous!

I have been in the same boat as you for a long, long time. Cannot seem to get away from my dark/shield/mu brute, ss/fire/fire brute, or my stone/fire/fire brute. They just, well. . . Melt things. . .

Now that being said I have been obsessed (and I mean level 40 in 3 days without farming) with my new Bots/Time/Mace MM. I havent played a mastermind in probably 2 years and all i can say is WOW!! I may not kill as fast as my brutes but holy googly moogly the screen is a beautific plethora of fire, energy, and explosions. And nothing, and I mean nothing, ever hits me.

I havent faceplanted in at least 8 levels and once I get power boost next level nothing outside of incarnate trials will be able to touch me with 55% percent defense to everything (except psy - which I will be at 51%).

Hmmm, never even thought of that but OMG would that be fun. I retired the Spines/Dark several issues ago but he used to farm carnies in the graveyard map when purples were first introduced.

    I would love to reroll a spines/dark brute. . . But now. . . Hmmm, spines/ice. . . OH MY!
  20. After taking a 6 week break to toil in a galaxy far far away, i have returned and been enjoy testing issue 22 on beta, tweaking builds on my TW/FA and StJ/EA, playing market games, and so on.

But where oh where is my spiney brute goodness. . . I was so hoping I would see him with issue 22 and his presence would force my Spines/Dark scrapper out of retirement to hunt down his resurrected brother. . .

So sad. . . Someone going to the pummit, please, please, please ask for proliferation of spines to my redside brothers and sisters!
  21. Sorry, spoilers are up already and it looks like Statesman is dead. . . Why they told us the ending?!?!?

I still hold onto to the fact he wont be the only one to go.

  22. Here's my idea and keep in mind I havent been able to run part 4 yet.

Personally, I think there will be multiple deaths among our signature heroes. I think Statesman is going to be destroyed quickly; his death being an inconsequential destruction to rattle the other heroes. Ms. Liberty rushes into battle to defend her grandfather only to be swatted away and killed instantly.

From there the Phalanx come together and ask the players on the TF to help take out an evil to big for them to handle alone. During the ensuing battle most of the members of the Phalanx are taken out and it is our characters who finally take down the mastermind and his evil minions.

At least, that would make the last 6+ years of my playing finally make me feel like I am a true hero and have my place in the CoH Universe.

Not only is it still not universally better, but at some point the question becomes is it even possible to get it. We can ask for 50% off, or 90% off, but this is all fungible: you can't just give away whatever you want.

Points are frontloaded. Every tier 9 VIP gets the same benefit: the same 150 points. We can spend them, we can bank them. We do not need to spend any cash to use them. A discount cash spending to leverage the discount. For any reasonable set of numbers, we will have to spend money to get the benefit. That's the fundamental difference. Do we tell our long term tier 9 VIPs that we value them enough to give all of them the same something extra, or do we tell our long term tier 9 VIPs that we value them enough to let them have a discount if they are willing to spend even more money.
The one thing you guys arent accounting for is I never said this as a tier 9 VIP. I would apply the 20% discount across the board for all subscribers during their active subscription. I feel this would more than entice more people to be subscribers.

"Hey, if i buy a 6 month subscription I get access to all aspects of the game, plus 400 points per month, and a 20% discount in store for being a VIP."

    vs.

"hey, if I buy a 6 month subscription I will be a tier 3 or 4 vet, get 400 points per month, and watch the tier 9 VIP's get more points than me. . . WT?!?!?!?!"

I get my 400 points per month and a 20% discount on in-store purchases. I spend 1200 points today on Titan Weapons and a costume bundle (1200*.8= 960 points). I have to spend an additional 560 points.

    Current way:
I get 550 points per month. I buy Titan Weapons today for 800 points and I have to spend an additional 250 points.

    @ 750 points of purchase: you pay 280 points, I pay 200
@1000 points of purchase: you pay 480 points, I pay 450
@1150 points of purchase: you pay 600 points, I pay 600

Not everyone wants to buy nearly $100 of points every year. For those who don't, the current bonus is still better.
