I think you can alter the transparency a little, although i only heard it in passing. with some/all the new colors you can pick a normal high or low "saturation"...i think is the word that was used. So if you picked a low saturation it would have the effect of picking black on one of the current auras, very dim hardly visible. However i don't remember where i read that and what context it was in so consider it 50% plausible.

this is why they have their own dedicated zone, if you throw up some eyeballs in regular zones there would be a riot. I guess the thinking is if they can't get to'em they can't complain about'em.
It'd be nice to see the shard a more regular haunt for 50's and lately with out much new content showing up i've seen a lot more people doing the two nighter TF's out in the shard. I think if they tweaked the geysers some you could see a lot more activity out there. -
sky hit the nail on the head. You want to build more recharge and regen into your build over HP buffs, this would allow you to keep DP up more often and therefore make the most of your regen.

Castle also has intimate knowledge of the AI, so he has a pretty good idea when certain powers a likely to fire and that gives him what a normal player scrapper would consider precognitive defence. If you knew when GW was going to death hold you could probably move away such that you alter the AI routine into not using it, or using it when you're prepared for it.

sounds...alright. but someone with a bad connection can't win and anyone without TP is gonna bite it.
if you have a mission in steel and the vet power you can eliminate zoning through skyway you'd need someone at the skyway tram and at the fault entracne exit as well as someone to prevent that sort of abuse.
alternately you could try a series of heats with 7 players bound by a power restriction you take the winners of each heat and have them compete again bound by the power restrictions and the winner takes the cake...or your pants or whatever the prize is.
It's a good idea there are just a couple ways to game they system such that someone goes home unhappy. -

Don't Malta Teleporters go through that teleport animation when they exit the teleport, though? They kind of lean back with their arms stretched out and then 'blink' out. Don't they do the same when they return?
[/ QUOTE ]
It shouldn't be hard to edit the tp animation. I believe that characters exhibit a different behavior when entering/exiting a WS's tp portal. the tp portal alone is techinically part of the animation so that should be enough justification of possibility.
the problem i see with this is tping to a foe in a crowd and near a wall. the crowd prevents you from tping right next to your target and you pop out the wall.
Second problem that same crowd could make you appear at a different angle to the target so you'd leap up and land facing backwards to the way you started not especially bad but a little awkward.
If you combine EC with TP you can get generally the same effect if it weren't for the lag time after a TP where you can't perform any action.
being able to que up a power (red ring it) then click a travel power would be nice. TP is generally not useful in fights like SJ SS or fly. I suppose it works alright for tanks and some blasters but i usually only see it used for entering a fight perhaps a mild rework to tp would see it become a bit more prevalent within the community. -

D-link or linksys wireless G stuff should be workable. I'm not a fan of D-Link but they are a solid brand.
wireless N prices have come down quite a bit so it's also a reasonable option. The catch is that you need wireless N NIC's in your PC's to get the full speed. wireless G NIC's shouldn't have any problems connecting unless you're using a encryption beyond what G is capable of handling. -
So the other night i was at WW and had to right-click everything to get it to show info. once or twice i managed to get the pop-up info to work. but i could not find a way to get it to repeat.
I asked on one of my global channels if anyone else was haveing the problem, some said they couldn't get the info to pop-up and others said they had no problem.
Anyone else run into this? -
here's a start to a build i've been wanting to do, but haven't had the money/reason to do. These bits alone i think came to around 7-800. Some of the pieces are quite adjustable like the video card and processor. the X3 720 phenom is pretty impressive chip especially for the price. Or for 20 more you can get another 200MHz by getting the X4 920.

You'll still need
<ul type="square">[*] a case[*] a HDD[*] an 64 bit OS
[*] a monitor[*] inputs (mouse keyboard etc)[*] speakers[*] sound card[*] CPU cooler[/list]
those last 5 items are really optional, to taste.
You don't need anything extreme for the HDD, if you don't want, but even with a 2k budget you could get an SSD in there pretty easily, which should load anything you have on it pretty quick.
The monitor, give yourself a budget and find something you like, again even with a 2k budget you can fit in a pretty nice monitor. The newer ASUS displays really look great and are pretty stylish.
For the case, i'd reccomend a full tower, but you can do this in a mid tower without much trouble.
tell me what you think. I love shopping for computer stuff, even if i don't get to buy it for myself.
PS. If you were looking for something more along the prebuilt line check out Ibuypower.com they have some really nice PC's that wont rip you off like a dell of HP. I'd also look there if you wanted a laptop. -

I don't know sanct well as a person but, he has brought up the subject several times before. Now I'm sure somewhere along the line he came up with this course of action as being a consession and thematically accurate fix to the problem /regen is afflicted with. It's a fairly well measured response. The other options would be to give regen defence or more resistance. (the obvious two i can think of maybe you can think of something better) both would give scrappers more than they need. I think most people would agree with that. And those options don't fit thematically with the set.
to the thread
Of the three single type armors (regen/SR/Inv) regen is the only one without a resistance to having it's primary attibute debuffed. We really aren't asking for the world here, just some equality. I don't think that it makes sense for regens to be crippled by debuffs, much like SR's were crippled by debuffs before they got their -def debuff resistance. If this is your primary focus to the fault of all others I think you should still be able to do it in adverse conditions that would stop others with lesser similar powers.
The recharge debuff resistance is more a quality of life issue. it's not especially thematic but it is a noticeable hole as compared to other sets with fewer clicks. Regen is more suseptible to being killed by -recharge than SR or Inv. But there is a side effect of adding -recharge resistance, that is that regen would be able to attack more often than other powersets and AT's while under the same debuffs. On order of magnitude the -rech resistance should be less of factor than the -regen resistance.
If not -rech resistance then the idea others have come up with for accelerating the activation of heals, going "lagless" into those heals. I think of the two -rech would require less work and be a faster fix than the potential backend fixes that would allow for "lagless" heals. That may not be the case, it may be as simple as altering a single flag on each of the powers, I don't know.
I don't think regen's weakness was ever intended to be debuffs. If SR was never intended to be weak against defence debuffs and INV was never intended to be weak against resistance debuffs, then i don't kow how you can't say the same for regen. It's not a designed hole, it's coicidental. -
heh, i saw him the other day. He must be new cause i've not seen him before.

Have you thought about emulating the COH install screens where it shows the AT and AT descriptions? Just to take it to a new level.
-
I'm surprised no one has brought this one up...
Give all your monies to me...It's probably not as good as DM/SD or some of the other builds listed but I really like this one. It's also cheaper you could probably do two builds of give all your money to me than you could a DM/SD.
Just thought i would throw that out there. It sounds like you don't really have trouble earning the inf so why not right? -
On the main note of regens lack of parity to other scrapper secondaries, in that it lacks the -secondary debuff resistance. I agree regen is not on the level. After the original debuffs to regen I think the devs still fear what a regen can be, clearly some of this forum shares that fear. That said, I seem to recall a time when Super Reflexes was at a similar level to regeneration. Super Reflexes has since been buffed in the way that we request Regen also be buffed.
I have seen some use the arguement that each set should have a weakness...fair enough. You say defence's weakness is CDF (haven't ever seen this happen or seen anyone curse it in general play, but i'll take your word for it), what about the other secondaries? I don't think there is an equivocal or as prevalent kryptonite as -recharge or -regen or a large burst of damage. It's really not a perfect storm where these two or three attributes come into play at the same time, it's something that can and frequently does happen every play session. It only takes one.
Another argument was that -regen and -recharge affect everyone not just regens. Therefore you can assume that those are the most common debuffs because they can easily have the desired effect on any AT, blaster, troller or otherwise and a character whose has those weaknesses would find themselves in a pickle the most often.
Slightly off topic, the debuffs to enemies that many secondaries have are not existent in regen. WP has a easily enhanced -acc aura that easily stacks with other melee defences. Fiery Aura has...fiery aura which typical to all things fire has a nice -HP debuff that stacks with all things damage. It's certainly not the rule to the system but it's not to be forgotten.
Getting back to the point of the matter running regen wide open with Dull Pain and IH will be entirely negated when hit with a -regen debuff. That is a hole that at least deserves a little patching. -
I was working a bit with the new vines pattern last night. couldn't quite nail down what i wanted cause i had skipped over the costume and cape mission at 20 somehow. Once i finish those up tonight, along with aura mission i think i'll have something to do with it.

I'm not any sort of webdesigner but to reduce the effect of the white put it behind a glass screen, like a tube TV, you can leave some dirt and smudge in the edges where it meets the gold but i am not sure that fits well with the style, then you can tint the glass and shadow the page to take some of the hardness of the white away.
The gauges at the bottom. It sounds like you're planning on using them to show loading progress and position. That works for me, again the glass covering could reduce the impact of the white. Labeling the loading bar 'pressure,' would keep in line with the steampunk feel, the hands on those gauges don't feel steampunk, maybe make them a litte more ornate. That's perhaps just my interpretation of steampunk. Styleized steam power seems to be the direction you're taking, y'know nemesis rather than Firefly or Bioshock. It's your site tho and looks really cool so far. -
I've seen people respectably get to level 20 without a true travel power. I've seen a lot more do it after the AE release... At one point i made a toon that relied on hurdle and swift 2-3 slotted to get around. Of course at the time that was kind of the in thing to do. This was long before i6, and before the level cap increase and before i'd ever been to FF or even bricks, in short when I first started playing.

well soon you can...
I ran it last night, we generally had no idea what we were doing but still managed to muddle through it. I hate to say that next time i'll bring BF's but...Next time i'll bring BF's that stun got me more than a couple times.
We only ran with 6, 2 trolls 2 scraps a blaster and a tank. Could have used some more rad and more damage. You really have to lay the old HP debuff on him thick.
His incessant use of invulnerable is trying, i thought we had him so i pulled the stops hit all my clickies and wailed away at the last sliver, then he triggered invuln again and we had to wait for that to drop to finally kill him. -
hammerspace has come up before, i always believed it originated in the thor comics. really comics in general are where the concept came from. I even think they reference hammerspace in one of the JLU epis.
I would actually like to see hammerspace out in the shard...a huge cavern filled with thousands of weapons that occaisionally blink in an out of exsistance. I think that would be a cool easteregg. find a little tunnel follow it down and find a glass window looking out onto a sea of blinking weapons with a plaque and badge labeled 'hammerspace'
personally i find the idea of hammerspace a more elegant solution than scabbards and that sort of stuff. It's not as realistic but then again when you're playing as a superhero able to defy the laws of everyday physics with the ease of slicing bread...you can't have an everyday sheath on your hip. -
The problem I have with the SB's is that new players have to pay another $30 on top of the $20 key to get the SB packs. Then there's the wedding pack and some other smaller pieces. It's not so bad piecemeal for long time players but it's getting to be 70+ to get a fully updated new game. Once they finish releaseing all the origin boosters you're left with $50 in boosters alone. And all of that is not including subscription fees.
A year or two down the road we're looking at 100+ for boosters add-on packs and CDkey. If by then they start migrating to a full p2p or fusionfall type low sub system that would be fine but keeping the 15 a month and all those SB packs is making the cost of entry quite high.
The automatic argument is that 'they don't have to buy the packs' but in a game who's prime selling point is customization I find the argument to be invalid. Sure they are making money that's what a business is supposed to do. Businesses are also supposed to grow. I think they are starting to choke their growth with all the new SB packs. -
