Hardware advice
D-link or linksys wireless G stuff should be workable. I'm not a fan of D-Link but they are a solid brand.
wireless N prices have come down quite a bit so it's also a reasonable option. The catch is that you need wireless N NIC's in your PC's to get the full speed. wireless G NIC's shouldn't have any problems connecting unless you're using a encryption beyond what G is capable of handling.

^What s/he said, but I'll reiterate that I still feel a Wireless-N router is still not worth it, even if it outputs B/G/N, unless it's the same price as the B/G.

You could also try Homeplug, it's a little more expensive but can run networking over a home's power circuit. I've used it before for gaming and it works pretty well.
I think I have some hardware I can share with you, but Imeco is too tired tonight to give it to you. Maybe tomorrow?
OK Heather calm down, not THAT kind of hardware.
I have to go to a wireless router for my internet at home and haven't bought one in ages, any advice on what model would help. I have a two story home and need to place the router on the first floor, most computer usage will be on second floor however.
