I'm afraid that tuesday and thursdays are the only times that I can organize these, and only in the mornings. how much influence? I really couldn't say, at least 10,000, probably more. I'm level 36, so it won't be pocket change. as for the damage enhancement, it's the only kind that I can rely on everyone being able to use, although come to think of it, there's still the level problem... ok, forget the enhancements, any suggestions for the runner up prizes?
also, if it is really wanted, I will conduct the event without pants.

500k isnt much of a prize but it is always nice to see somebody doing things like this ingame

Uses Flight+TP for travel. Boost range + TP 3 slotted for range and I can TP so far it takes a few seconds for my buzz to catch up
sounds...alright. but someone with a bad connection can't win and anyone without TP is gonna bite it.
if you have a mission in steel and the vet power you can eliminate zoning through skyway you'd need someone at the skyway tram and at the fault entracne exit as well as someone to prevent that sort of abuse.
alternately you could try a series of heats with 7 players bound by a power restriction you take the winners of each heat and have them compete again bound by the power restrictions and the winner takes the cake...or your pants or whatever the prize is.
It's a good idea there are just a couple ways to game they system such that someone goes home unhappy.

Edit: Actually, I think selecting the "No Enhancements" option from an Ouro mission would solve that problem, IIRC.
I just might do that, but the problem is, what if more than 8 people show up?

Otherwise, when I've read about other servers doing this in the past, they run them with brand new toons from AP or Galaxy to somewhere far. You could do this then keep track of the winner's global and give the prize money to whatever toon they want.
hmmmm, that could work. where could the race go? what about just a race to the steel canyon tailor from Atlas Park?
Perhaps something more challenging, like the trainer in Faultline or the northern islands of Talos, or the DA gate. Just a few suggestions for thought.

I've always found the easiest way to stop cheaters is to make it a Password race. Racers have to give the correct password at a series of checkpoints. They get a new password at each checkpoint.
For example:
In Atlas Park, DoctorParadox gives out a password and tells the racer to find Infinite Zero at the Steel Canyon Yellow line.
The racers give Infinite Zero the password when they reach him and he tells them the new password and to find Imeco0 at the Skyway Green Line.
The racers give Imeco0 the new password who gives them another password, person, and location. And it just keeps going.
The race organizer and checkpoints watch out for any cheaters. Use gates and train stations throughout the City. Plot out the route with a map so you can spot any possible cheating hot spots in the route.

race starts in Atlas park, city hall, with me. racers check in at steel canyon entrance, then at the steel canyon green line. from there, they head to the founders falls entrance in talos island, then at the founders falls green line before checking in at both train stations in skyway city, and meeting me back at Atlas Park. sound good? that weighs in at 6 helpers. any takers?

Well, this is TopDoc we're talking about. TopDoc would respec to gain 3 points of damage per day. - Arcanaville
this upcoming tuesday the 21st of july, at 6:30 A.M., Pacific time, I will be holdind a grand race on heroside, starting at the faultline dam, then racing to the yellow line steel canyon before sprinting back to the finish line. winner gets every point of influence I have, and a single origin damage enhancement. we will meet in new overbrook at 6:30 sharp. some basic rules, first:
1. no ouroboros, pocket D, or sg teleportation, just travel power on travel power.
2. the winner will be determined be the first player to give me a thumbs up at the finish line. note: second and third runners up also get enhancements, as well as bragging rights. also, there will be a referee at the turning point, you must give him a thumbs up or the turning will not count, and he will signal me.
3. any temporary powers can be used, aside from teleporters that go beyond the range of the power teleport.
