I have to support the end user all day at work, and often via phone calls at home.
I'm saying no to supporting end users in Paragon -
Is that for the G15 keyboard?
If so, I might have a copy at home, will look & rapidshare it. -

Quote:I hope not for an automated team thingajig. Too many variations of what people want that I suspect it would be useless. eg level range, ATs, missions, aes, arcs etc etc.Far as I'm concerned, we don't need more flags so much as we need a system for automated team generation, where the game will try to put you in either a team as close to your specifications, or in as big a team as close to your level range as it can manage. Most people want "just teams" anyway, despite what the few of us more focused people here on the forums insist, and such a system would basically satisfy the great masses and take care of the "I can't get a team!!!" problem.
Beyond that, the team finding interface is actually not that bad for building a team. What it sucks at is FINDING a team.
We need a looking for more tag, and/or a way of IDing the leader from searchs, hiding the 'not looking' from searches and we need to be able to look for cross faction in cross faction zones./whoall can help for that within the zone, but often I resort to dual boxing an alt that can search the other faction. -
Quote:Copy everything in your city of heroes folder to a USB drive (need 4GB or there abouts depending on screen shots and junk).Had to reformat my pc and will have to again in a week or so when Win 7 comes in...How do i reload the game after reformating?
Copy the CoHupdater to the new computer desktop.
Start the download, following prompts etc to install into a new folder.
Stop the download after a file or two has been downloaded.
Copy the cityofheroes folder from your USB (or DVD etc) to the folder just created on your new computer.
Delete the checksum file.
Start the CoHupdater again.
Wait. Get a coffee. Ignore the first time estimates. Wait for verify. *check the tech forum section for guides running CoH under win7 incase of trouble.
Play. -

It's taken my characters close to a week at times to copy across.
Something you just have to wait for now and then. -
*shifty look* yeah that's right. The illegal high is from this taskforce, Officer. *flushing sounds*

Quote:I love to be able to see the old maps like faultline and paragon dance party via O, and same with Posi TF.This. I never got to do the Calvin Scott TF. I came in just right before the GDN and ED.
I wouldnt like to see the mayhems/safeguards added though, as they reward leveling up the 'standard' way over fast farming, and afaik about the only things you do miss out on. -
Quote:You do lose the record of your prestiage earning and SG membership as a cost to renaming via transfers.I don't believe this has been mentioned yet, but...
Free server transfers make for-pay rename tokens a waste.- Transfer Character "ABCD" from server X to server Y
- If "ABCD" exists on server Y, rename character and transfer back to server X
- Create character "ABCD" on server X
- Transfer "ABCD" from server Y to server X. A rename is forced (and free)
- Delete "ABCD", since it's no longer needed
Not an issue for many I know.
I'ld like to see the free transfers stay. - Transfer Character "ABCD" from server X to server Y

Quote:I rarely put 'looking for anything' as I rarely want to do AE farms. It can also be people forgetting to set it. I always set mine to "Looking for anything" unless I'm specifically not interested in joining a team, but some times I'll log on and if the search window's not open, I won't even think about it.
Most of the other flags are a bit more specific than my wants (looking for patrols - surely not)
So i use the comments fields to put 'looking for mission teams and Tfs' of the like. -

Quote:Posi is my favourite solo pastime. Espically on my ill/kin.Yeah, there's a huge difference in Posi runs depending on how experienced and/or small the team is.
The other week i did a Posi duo that finished in a bit over 70 minutes IIRC. The team for that run was my lowbie 14-ish Scrapper and an IO slotted 50 Scrapper. The infamous rescuing FEMA workers from CoT mission is easy when you can just pop a few purples and lead the workers out through the ambushes.
Large teams with several newbies (or worse, several n00bs) can take over four hours. -
Quote:I got to 50 for EATs. I don't mind if others unlock them at earlier levels. I dont think its unfair. My only gripe is the lvl 20 for EATs and VEATs thing. I dont think its fair to those who did get to 50 for them. Plus with all the changes to xp lately its no where near hard to get to 50 like it was back in the day. I dont see why this change had to happen. To me this is like giving folks the Task Force Commander accolade without doing the upper level TFs. I am not going to comment on the Posi TF changes until I see it for myself exactly what they did. Personally my fear is that they are going to gut the merits for the whole thing and still make it not worth running even as 2 seperate tfs.

Public empowerment buff stations? The tier 1 ones so there is still benefit for bases having them.

IOs already have a 'vendor' price of sorts, for when you respec and get rid of them.

Quote:Yes, my opinion is not only are the 50 recipes more available, that most people with 50's want lvl 50 recipe.IMO, level 50s are "the best." A large enough amount of people aren't planning on being exempt enough to where having IOs below level 50 matter to them all that much. The poster children for this are farmers.
Though on the other hand, in view of changes to the epics unlocking at 50, there must be less 50's around than I thought. -

Quote:Wouldnt it be a good business desicon (ie gaining money for company) if people did buy more character slots? There will almost certainly be free character slots with GR.
Many people who have played this game for a while are either close to if not already filled their available character slots on their favorite server. While its true that everyone has had free server transfers for a couple months, with Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning coming BEFORE GR there will be many players with no free character slots again. The NCSofft execs are not dummies. They aren't stupid enough to have players spend $30 on the expansion and then demand they pay more to get character slots or transfer characters off the server once you see the goodies and want to make new toons.
It would be a bad business decision not to give out 2-4 character slots with GR.
Though IMHO the free transfers encouraged people to buy more slots too.
I really dont see its NC's job to ensure players have free slots for characters they want.
It would be great if we did get free character slots, but I dont see it as NC's obligation. -
Quote:I really hope the focus is on single teams. There might be one or two things featuring multiple teams (like Hamidon Raids) but I suspect most of the end-game content will be for a single team. This makes the content a lot more accessible which I suspect will be one of their goals. Even in WoW all of the new raids contain a 10-man variant specifically because Blizzard realized the larger team sizes limited the number of people who got to see the content. Realistically developers want content to be accessible to as large a portion of the playerbase as possible since that helps retain subscriptions.
I have no desire for the mass raid system. Espically after my tastes of CIty verison with the banners and lord Winter. -
It could also mean things like a longer sales history, which would change market habits a lot.
The level range of stuff may make a difference, but people seem sooo locked into the idea that you must buy IOs at 5o. -
