It seems it would be easier if the prize was just ingame, like seeing your art/slogan ingame and thats viewed as plenty big prize. Please think about at least a few competitions that didnt have material rewards so we all could play. -
Take what people say about servers other than thier own with a grain of salt.

Rubbish.
Most of the 'community' I see are interested in missions more than Farms.
Don't blame AE for you not having globals channels/friends that share interest in fun stuff. -
I see more calls for killing a GM for badge or the like than for a team to PvP or MA in my global channels.
For me, it will be close between badging and MA. Only have a few characters that I make the effort for to get all the allocades & dont chase every badge. Havent even done all the new merit rewarded exploration badges yet and they are just easy time sync.
I used to have a lot of fun playing and designing MA, but too fusrated at the dismal XP now to bother. Dont want farms, but want to be able to level up at least somewhere as close to street sweeping or missions. And tired of having to change my stories around atfter nerfs make them worse than even the pitiful xp normal mobs get in there. /bitter
Barely ever PvP. Had some fun in recluse's victory and infrequently doing shivan runs. But powers didnt do what I expected and there is more entertainment for me in PvE than working out whats what. -

Doesnt bother me at all if on a team with a kin without SB, no different to joining a team that didnt have that powerset. Still going to have fun, and kins have a lot of powers. Fun and carnage is more important
It is my favourite buff mind you, and kin is close to my favourite powerset.
I've got 2 x 50's with kinetics and never found it hard to keep on a team of 8. I have the numpad set to apply, and really isnt that much difference clicking to buff than clicking to attack in terms of work imo.
I do hate those "SB MEH" demanders but I hate anyone who nags me about power use during play. -

Ragequits would be hard to pin point down on anything, as people ragequit & then thier subscription has to laspe for it to be noticed.

I've run solo on a zombie invasion in the Shadow Shard before.
As has been pointed out, fire fights are zone events, as are troll raves.
I don't think that teaming is going to be "forced".
I hope its more like the zombie invasion than the banner event, but the pessimst in me looks at the more recent zone events. -

Its not on the known issues list, ( http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=219742 ) so its an assumption that it is on back burner/going to be fixed.

I got some syndicate in a boss_name mission, have to get some better screen shots of it.

I've never seen a void/quant/etc in AE on my Khelds.
Thats not exhaustaive by any means, but a few dozen missions without one showing thier stinky faces. -

It seems the market prices of some IOs were a factor for increased merit costs for some IOs compared to other rare recipes...though of course I cant recall which right now. LoTG or Numina's unquie iirc
