Freedom and Virtue have the highest populations . . . so if you want to team with random folks, those may be your best choices. Other servers have their own communities and groups of players. If you are looking to develope a circle of "friends" and teammates with whom you can team on a regular basis, you may want to look at some of the other servers.

You may want to take a look at the server-specific section of these forums. Pick one server to try out, introduce yourself on the forum and see if you can team with any of the nice folks you will probably communicate with on the Forums.

Guardian is well known for inviting folks to partake in (virtual) cookies. Pinnacle has the "reputation" of being the "drunk" server. These are the servers I spend most of my time on.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

In terms of content, there is no difference between the servers. They are all the exact same game. The only difference is the players who inhabit them.

Arc ID: 373341 - To Save a Hero

Heh, sometimes that's good advice. In my experience though, many of the disparaging remarks made about Freedom have some truth to them

And bacon! Bad Local for not remembering bacon! Oh, and I'd say we're also known for Pepsiman. He is [in]famous for peeing all over the place, gnawing random people and stealing eyeballs, among other things

We have been known to have a beer or two on Guardian.. Well at least I have had one or two.

I may have a problem.

Nah, I wouldn't say that's a problem Jack. Now if it was a Texas Mickey or two then I might think there's a problem, hehe.

Freedom and Virtue have the largest populations normally. Virtue, where I exist, is widely regarded as the Role Play Server while Freedom supposedly boasts more PvPers (I can not confirm that its just what I have heard). Infinity, where I started, had roughly the third highest p[opulation although I've heard rumors that its slowly dying after the Free server transfers occurred over the winter.. Keep in mind there have been rumors for years that certain severs were being MERGED do to lack of players and that has never happened.. Rumors are very much like opinions everyone has one and none of them are right or wrong until proven LOL

Beyond those three I am lost since I have never played on any others.. Hey I've never been on Freedom but it and Virtue are always the two with more than one little DOT on log in when ever anything special occurs. They all have their own player base and personality so, as suggested, try out a few and find the one you like. Now if you enjoy Role Play .. I can definately recommend Virtue. I have arrived in Steel Canyon via the train from Kings row and found people standing on the raised platform RPing away like mad.

Welcome to the game Have FUN!

They are and they aren't. You will find some of the same kinds of things on almost all of them but each has its own personality.

As Red Valkyrja wrote, check them out.

Don't buy the line that any of them are dead. They just aren't as noisy.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

I think the people who prefer the noise, hustle and bustle of Freedom feel the same way about the lower pop servers being "dead".

It's probably best not to bash Freedom since some new people will like playing there just as it is bad to bash Virtue for roleplaying or bash the lower pop servers for not being like Times Square.

Let's just leave it at each server has its own special personality and some people will like it and some won't.

The only real difference is the population count. As said, Freedom & Virtue are busy, busy, busy. The others, not so much. Check the server section for whichever you land on and look up which of the Global Chat Channels is considered the main one for that server: it should make finding teams (and having a bit of general chatter) a lot easier.

I thought about mentioning the importance of Bacon on Guardian, but some people get scared off by the high fat content and forget how awesome Bacon is.

As for Pepsiman -- he's kind of like that slightly insane cousin that nobody in the family wants to admit is actually family. If the newbie is lucky, he won't be introduced to Pepsi until he has already joined the family and it is too late.

The bottom line is that Guardian has a fun community of people who like to be a little bit wacky at times. The regulars are good players who are pretty friendly and willing to help. There are some regular and semi-regular events that people run, and most folks don't take themselves very seriously.

And since nobody's mentioned it (and I don't mean Pinnacle or Victory, both well worth checking out) - two links.

One to the wiki. Useful resource. Bookmark it. The other a link to the wiki's servers page, with a brief description and east/west coast breakdown - though it doesn't tend to make a difference.

Join some global channels! Head down to the server section and introduce yourself on what ever server(s) you decide to play on. Ask which are that servers global channels and join them, it makes for a nice sense of community, its a good place for questions while you're in game, and its good for finding teams. Have fun and enjoy the game.

Tangentially, if you're looking for ingame assistance there is a global channel dedicated to helping out new players.

Type /chan_join "N P C" in the command line, right-click your chat tab and select Edit to add said channel to it, and introduce yourself.

We cover all servers, and can probably find someone to mentor you personally if that is something you'd be interested in.

Welcome to Paragon City.
