Quote:AE is a pretty mixed bag. I strongly suggest looking through the AE forum here on boards for hints finding good missions.
AE missions.. Havent had the chance to go and take a look. Fun? Good payoff for the most part? Good chance for random teaming?
A lot of pick up teaming with AE has come to mean farms, (many working as close to the exploit line as they can imo). So advertising for AE teams in broadcast is most likley getting that style of play. Need to join global channels and find interested people that way if you avoid farms.
The farms themselves tend be good pay offs, though I think them to be mind numbing boring. There's a trend of late to drop to first level and fight lvl 1 AVs/bosses.
AE missions and the good story arcs don't as a good pay off for the most part. Custom enemies can take hits to XP gain, and some missions havent been updated to keep up with the seemingly never ending changes of awarding XP. Again, check that part of the fourm for good arcs that will have reasonable xp.
There is a lot of good missions out there, and playing non canon stories can be fun. -
He did, just took me a day or two to find it again.

I'd be happy to help for free too.
A coalition would only help with storing stuff if your prepared to be alting and emailing on demand. -

yay....thank you... awesome sauce indeed

Thank you all for input.
I've been using energy absorption a lot but slotted for def more then end drain.
Keeping agro through hibernate sounds very useful. Will be putting taunt enhancements in there.
IridiumMaster: always interested in looking at builds. Good for ideas and like to see how other people make choices.
Will try the less attacks from ss and concentrate more on aura damage and see what thats like.
Thanks everyone! -
Quote:I've heard complaints about how to do mayhems since I started playing. As far as Radio Mission only people and AE babies, what I want to know is what started the Rush Mayhem trend that I've seen waaay too much PUGing redside.
Not fighting to the bank. Nooo, that would be too easy. Now a lot of players seem to think that running/stealthing straight to the bank (a la Safeguards) is the way to do a Mayhem mission.
And, as I've had players tell me, it's a 50/50 chance you'll complete the mission because of the big Longbow ambush that magically pops up when you get to the bank, so it doesn't matter how you do the mission.
I like the slow fight and destroy on the way. Most chance of success too as well as the most fun I have as a villian.
But the fast way can work, which is probably why it hangs around as a method.
Now for every mayhem, nio matter how many great paper missions the pug has just done, I'll say how we doing it, or ask the leader how we are doing it beofre entering.
I dont really get the angst some players have when mayhems fail. Often you still grab the badge, you miss out on a temp power of variable worth (wow a jet pack). Seen a lot of teams disband 'cause we failed bank, or teamwiped along the way, when if that happened in a normal paper mission, it would be hositpal & reenter no drama.
edit: AE (and other mindless) farms cause ignorance. AE missions can often have more thought required most Arcs. -

I do the patron arcs, mostly. I like access to the PP pools more than for the arcs. Havent done them all yet though.

Quote:You're using style choice as an excuse for incorrect capitalisation? That's wrong. Now you're wrong. Using all caps for emphasis is a style choice. Using arch instead of arc is simply wrong.
Just pointing this out in case someone less knowledgeable about trolling comes along and your post slips past them.
The same rationale would work for leet speak, and for people WhO TYpe LiKE THIs TOO wHIcH is FOr STyLE.
Don't understand your line about trolling, can you clarify why you think my post is trolling but your correcting post wasn't?
Oh token passive aggressive smiley -
Quote:I'm staggered you need so much in PvP (guess I would be staggering getting up off the ground in the PvP zone). For PVP - it gets quite a bit more involved (and vocal).
Conventional Wisdom says 41-45 points to deal with Force Bolt, Power Push,
Repel and such, especially in the arena.
In zone (depending on *which* zone), it can be a lot less because you're
much less likely to encounter those powers.
High Stealth characters can usually take less as well since the presumption
is they can avoid many of the players that are problematic... For instance,
my PvP stalkers usually slot in the 4 to 12 range for -KB.

My only tank so far has been an ice/ss one.
Finally got to the tier 9 power, and its hibernate, and its a wtf moment? Please show me I'm reading it wrong - seems just like a phase shift power purchasable at the markets.
Someone tell me the low down on ice/ please. I'm sure (hope) its got to be better than how I'm seeing it, but it just feels like my /regen and /willpower scrappers are more surviable at lower levels.... -
I'd rather a delayed working release than an on time buggy release.

On the characters I care enough to 'properly' IO out, I intend on running lots of TFs with, so being able to keep set bonues at lower level is important, more so if i have a few set mule power choices which makes having the IO bonues important.
I learnt a good lesson on my first 50, my Dom who went from perma-dom doom bringer at 50, to almost no +recharge at 45.
Some sets are good and end at 30, or 35, so I often slot them on the way up. Plus I have a few more LoTGs and the like at lower levels.
A few other sets I have put in around lvl 40, depsite that they go to 50. I find the difference in enhancement value to be minor, but keeping that set bonus the be more helpful.
If I had a character that just stayed at 50, I;d think differently, but so much of my 50's time is spent on non 50 content. -
Quote:Success is life is measured by a lot of things, and your definition might include requirements like proper spelling/typing.Critical
7.of decisive importance with respect to the outcome; crucial: a critical moment.
8.of essential importance; indispensable
I see where you're coming from, but I'm not sure I'd consider my use of the word inappropriate.
Considering what a large population in the world isn't even functionally literate (able to read a newspaper) and there would be countless more who make grammar/spelling errors; to say that all those people are lacking a critical factor which will mean they are unable to achieve success in life isn't a statement I'd agree with.
You're saying that approx 14% of North American adults (low literacy skills) are lacking a critical factor for their success in life.
I'm sure many of these people consider their life to be successful by their definitions.
I do think the higher your literacy skills, the more success you will have with work, especially white collar work. But you can have a happy, healthy productive life that enriches others without ever getting the comma spacing right.

Quote:They are important factors, but you are misusing the word critical.Proper vocabulary, spelling and grammar are critical factors to success in life. Learn it, love it, live it!
Typing words in all caps in the middles of a sentence is just as wrong as using arch instead of arc. Or worse really. Correcting you if case someone less knowledgeable does come along and learn something wrong. -
Quote:You should be able to download the file first to your desktop. Then run it.Yes, I recently got a laptop for my gradutation that does NOT have a cd insert slot, so I have no where to download the game from, so when I went to download the one off the my account page, I get an error everytime that says I shoudl ask fora new version or something? Please Help me!
-C(me)Bake
To download the game client, you will need to follow the instructions below.
1.Log into NCsoft Account Management.
2.Click the Game Accounts link.
3.Click the game account for the game you wish to download.
4.Click the Download Game Client link in the Actions section
This will be a little file, around a few MB that downloads/updates the rest of the game. The rest of the game will be 3-4 GB and take a fair while to download. Might be quicker to use a friends CD rom and copy the CDs file onto a USB drive.
If you still have trouble, please post with a bit more info... are you using windows/xp/vista/7, MAC OS, etc etc
What error message do you get? -

Quote:Just confirming that the winters gift icon vanishes but the 20% slow resist remains active all the time.Also. I might well be wrong about winter's gift. It is listed in real numbers as working at all times. Maybe it is just that the buff icon doesn't show up except after I TP.
Still, it seems like my slow protection is better right after I tp, but that could be just the placebo effect.
