It's using the right name. Sheessh. Cut Paragon some slack. Just because they went with the correct term and not your preffered colloquial term doesn't make it the wrong name.
A throwing disc is a discus, as in the sport most often seen in the Olympics.
I also don't think its badly over priced. Fits in under the allowance nicely, works on every character. -

Assassin's Strike will not animate if used out of hide if weapons are not yet drawn. -
Add the hami's change too to the list.
There has been a freespec in every issue since I've joined, for what I've thought of as less dramactic issues, so imo its more likely an oversight.
I'm not fussed personally, but I have the advantage of being a vet with a stack built up. -

Quote:Shards were changed to dropping from any level content if you were side kiced down. So more frequent chances at them being able to drop depending on what content you tended to run, the main signifcant one imo was weekly strike targets. The degree to which the tasks can be optimized is an issue, but not the most important issue. The more important issue is to look at the thing that can't really be optimized: shards. Shards were unreasonable, and then somehow became not just reasonable but ideal. That's not a trivial change in perspective. The shards didn't change, so it was the definition of "reasonable" that did. But so long as everyone is asking for the "reasonable" but that word has a very slippery definition, there's no role for the numbers.
I read all the testing threads and posts, and while I appreciate the work done in quantifying *what* is happening, where I had an issue is in the surrounding discussion about what *should* happen. Completely different people were using the exact same numbers to demonstrate that the rate was fine and not fine. And while that always happens to some degree, here it was actually the case that there was no way to refute either side, because what was defined to be "reasonable" was so vast in range it could describe anything.
As to the question of whether an objective frame of reference is possible, I believe it is possible. I don't believe everyone will agree its objective, but that's never actually ever one of my concerns. However, there's only two reasons to change it: its unbalanced, and its unpalatable. It hasn't existed long enough for us to know if its unbalanced, and if so to what degree. And if people will not agree on even what direction to head in much less how far, no change at the moment can address the issue of the system being unpalatable. This is almost certainly a case where regardless of what the system does now, we'll have to live with it for a while before the devs contemplate changing it for the simple reason that any change as a greater chance of succeeding on both fronts later rather than now.
Where I think you'll have the greatest problem achieving any sort of unanimity is in balancing the opportunity limits of running trials against the always-available nature of the solo path, even with the time gates. On some trials, trials are run continuously and quickly and with a high success rate. On other servers they are run less frequently and/or with lower success rates. Balancing for the case where the player can run a trial whenever they wish with a high success rate is itself potentially a skewed assumption. These things are subjective value judgments, but play a critical role in balancing the solo path against the trial path.
I do agree that they went from unreasonable to okay, possibily ideal. -

Inf is a number like XP is a number.
Some people like big numbers.
Its not that surprising. -
Quote:The rednames know builds best: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...15&postcount=5What's the best build? Could someone post it here? Also, could you finance it for me so I can make one myself without actually knowing how to play?
Any help would be appreciated! -

You can go to personal (character) Info from menu tab. Then go to the alignment tab and it gives stats about how many moralty and alignment missions you have run.
If its a character that has turned form one side to another, you may need to confirm alignment or some such, not sure excatly what requirements are needed.
For a character thats never changed alignment, I think they still need to do two morality missions - one ofr 50 merits and another to confirm and getting 1 AM.
Hope that helps anyhow.
edit: There is a hero/villain/etc-reinforcing morality stat - that's the one you need.
I still find difficult for side changers to tell -
Quote:This would be great information to have clearly stated. Maybe a new thread? Here's how you could be clearer:
Before telling us to file a /petition if it's not working correctly, you could tell us how it's supposed to be working.
Quote:It seems obvious to me that my payment date, the date on which I get my reward token, and the date on which I get my monthly stipend of VIP points, should all be the same day. Right now, they're three separate dates. Is there a plausible reason for this, or is this the bug that I should be /petition'ing to get fixed? -
[QUOTE=Mastermiine;4134167]Quote:It should of applied when you purchased the game from the NCsoft store, or if you brought a physical copy, you need to input the serial code into your account. If so: Login to your master NC account, then game acount and its something like 'add serial code' .. You get the GR features by applying the relevant code to your account, not by installing from the disk.
How do I do that?
If you need access to the new launcher, grab it from here http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/my_acc..._of_heroes.php
The old launcher doesnt work anymore.
Alo, keep in mind, your characters and such are saved on NC's server, so you cant lose anything by reinstalling aside from time. -
You link points to your local computer drive, /Cwe cant view it.
Try picpaste.com or imageshack.us and upload the picture there. That will give you a link to put in your post. -

Quote:Agree with all this.I've posted before about how "hard" in CoH is mostly about not knowing the script, and having to figure it out, with a dash of character attribute comparison to the enemies.
You're coming into these trials long after they have been introduced. Pretty much everyone else knows the "script" by now, and can execute the counter steps by rote. Moreover, lots of players have characters with stats now elevated by previous successes at the trials.
So you have (probably lots of) people on league who are much stronger in the stats contest who mostly know what to do by rote. Of course that's easy. All CoH content is easy in that scenario. Yes, even the MoM trial.
I know TPN was mentioned, but TPN is very much about knowing the script. Once you know its script, TPN isn't hard at all, IMO. Some individuals may get creamed by the AV while moving from building to building, but the league overall rarely suffers much because of that. (That's one reason I find that mechanic annoying - it's no fun for the people getting killed, and it really adds nothing to the league's overall experience of challenge.)
UGT and MoM are "harder" than the others because (a) their stats challenges can be rather severe, and (b) parts of their scripts are harder to learn from replay than most others.
I'd add (or reinforce) a lot of the gimmicks are more annoying than hard. I find TPN very tedious as you do the same gimmicks again and again and again. Seems the repitition is simply to make a trial fit a dev-determined amount of time -

Quote:Agree completely.I still think they are passing up a fantastic opportunity with this trial by making it +3 instead of +0.
At +0 and with BAF-like rewards, its simplicity and small league size would make it the perfect gateway trial to bring new Incarnates from the solo and small team content into the trial scene.
At +3 with amped up rewards, it's just going to be an Emp farm for the folks who already have their T4's.
The latter is something we need FAR less than the former.
Huge mistake, in my opinion. -
Quote:Having an option for server transfer or alignment transfer / month would be neat.I guess it wasn't enough to just give away the Going Rogue Expansion features away as a benefit for VIP subscription and allow just any subscriber to change their alignment for free.
I guess we're also morally bankrupt to give away free server transfers a month for free to VIP subscribers, too.
And for anyone that never purchased the Going Rogue expansion or let their subscription lapse, we're apparently lower than dirt to charge a $10 "service" fee to change a character's alignment that a non-paying customer spent time on....
C'mon folks. *This is not profiteering on the backs of VIPs.
ALL VIP subscribers and any customer that purchased the Going Rogue expansion have a FREE option to EASILY and FREELY change their character's alignment.
Come at me with the pitchforks, but really? *Are you not seeing the reasons for introducing this service?
Non VIP customers can now change their character's alignment to try the content on the other side without deleting thir character and grinding up to a power level where they were before (if they got up to level 20). * VIP customers get 400 points every month that they can apply to this 800 point service...., or as I pointed out earlier, VIP customers can change their alignment for FREE using the in-game system.
If you want to provide more constructive feedback like "this is a great feature that i would rather get free per month as part of my VIP membership than server transfers or 400 points per month" then we're all ears.
400 points already seems minor amount considering costs of most items. When you get them on time. I wouldnt want to see that 400 drop lower.
$10 is over priced for what you get (imo, and without pitchforks). I'm okay with that.
It feels to me, that most every item is priced with the idea that 400 points will be subtracted by VIPs, when you can only subtract 400 / month. Are you only anticipating VIPs buy when they have freebie points to use as a discount for item? It also feels to me that the market is trying to get fewer high costs purchases from people instead of encouraging lots of low cost high
volume sales.
This is subjective, but hopefully constructive as well. -

Make sure you petition and bug it. You may be able to get your token back. For $10 I hope so. It shouldnt allow it's use to be discharged at that price.

I was under whelmed by using windfalls the few time I have. Not an obvious enough effect to get me to buy more.
Maybe code in "WINDFALL" to flash across the screen when you get a drop in the bonus % rate. -
Side Note: When on teams with people clueless and seemingly unable to listen about the cleansing flames, drag Posi down the hallway a bit. Makes it much easier for one person to block and kill the little flames before they do the heal.
