Times with Hybrid T3 Assault slotted not toggled:

if that's not crazy RNG variability, i can't figure it out.

    *snip*

Again, no idea WTF is going on ... how are these times WORSE than T3 Assault?

My god this is frustrating. I blew like 3 *snip* pylon *snip* tonight
Which T4 Assault are you using? I recommend Core as the chain is fast enough to maintain an average of 75% damage buff for almost the full 2 minutes. But the difference between T3 and T4 Assault (When not toggled) is a 2.5% damage buff so do not expect it to perform miracles. If you are missing that often, you may want to add the Kismet +acc unique. Do you notice if CU critical 100% of the time? Are you stopping to use Icy Bastion, Energy Absorption and Ageless? I turn off some toggles to make my endurance last. 3.4 end/sec gain + 3 PF procs and I still burn through it like it's nothing.

StJ on Stalkers can go either way, good or bad (But StJ on Stalkers is sort of like pizza. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty darn good). Miss with SB/SC, possible missed dam res debuff; miss with AS, may have screwed where criticals occur; miss with CU, you just lost 1000+ pts of damage; miss with HB, lose 3 rolled procs for damage. Also can't forget Assassin's Focus as each miss could mean you just lost an AS critical. Some misses may mean you did not reach Comabt Level 3 for CU or SC. I try to make sure all my characters are capped to hitting at least +3 enemies.

I did not make a video of the 1:50 run but I made this vid for you, 1:44 for 497DPS. Do you include Practiced Brawler and Hasten activation times in your pylon runs? I don't, I start the timer when I click Build Up. I have quite a few enhancement boosters but I do not really need them anymore. I enhanced several IOs for previous builds to try to get a little more recharge or to save on some endurance. Only store bought enhancements are 3 PF procs that I got when they were broken. SS has a spare slot in it for a Positron Blast proc but since I never seem to use it, I left it empty for now. Have a Nice Day! ~ Stereophonics.

    scrapper ideas

I like Spines/DA. Spines would be great with FA and maybe with ElA as well but I have never tried those combos. Two damage auras is quite nice. If you can manage your endurance and build the damage auras with acc/dam/procs, added with Interface and Hybrid, you can dish out quite a bit of damage without even clicking an attack. I have plopped myself in the center of a +4/x8/y/n AE S/L farm, put Dark Regeneration on auto and stepped away to make dinner. When I get back, my character is the only one left standing.

I heard Bio Armor has a couple of auras but I have not checked to see what they do yet. Spines/Bio may be a winning combo as well.

That would be fantastic! I would be disappointed with anything less than 3000 Vanguard merits, single run, on an all MM team. I have a 50 Bots/Traps and 50 Thugs/Dark MM on Freedom. Both old and running on SOs. I just may transfer one over to join in on the action.
  4. I asked the same question in game and a previous thread about 6 months ago and nobody knew of a way back then.
  5. Nyghtmaire is right, Dark can even make Ninjas, Mercs and Beast into superstars. Dark is ideal in most situations using 2 huge -tohit debuffs, a PBAoE stun, heal and dam res debuff, plus an extra pet.

I vote for Necro as well. Soul Extraction can carry the Recharge Intensive Pet IOs and soul extracted pets do not die easily.
  6. Dusted of my StJ/SR Stalker and changed up the build to try to fix the problem I was having with Crushing Uppercut not getting criticals 100% of the time after the use of the Stalker's Guile proc in AS. The SB-AS-SC-SB-AS-CU attack chain is 10.032secs long, Arcantime. The Stalker's Guile proc has a PPM of 5 so I changed to a chain that has a 12sec cycle and CU does critical all the time now.

I had a choice to add in SS to the chain but decided to respec and tossed in 2 proc'd out Inital Strikes making the cycle 12.144secs long. So currently my chain is [BU-AS-CU] SB-IS-AS-SC-SB-IS-AS-CU-repeat. I am getting consistent 2:30 to 2:35 pylon times for 375 to 383 DPS. That's with T4 Musculature Radial, T4 Reactive Radial and T4 Assault Hybrid passive bonus. No Destiny, Lore, Judgement, temps, inspira or outside buffs. Hybrid was not toggled.

For spits and giggles I did a run with T4 Assault Core Hybrid toggled on and got a time of 1:50 for 476 DPS. Core's damage buff is a pretty consistent +75% on the above chain (+101.5%, including the passive damage bonus and miscellaneous bonuses).
  7. Nice combo, I have a MA/SD scrapper and she's a monster. Used to be godly in all situations but since the HamiO "fix", I tread more carefully vs some enemies. Crane Kick is still the best looking ST attack IMHO. Kick it, kick it good.

Obitus made a comparison between StJ and MA awhile back and can be found here:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=276359

They are surprisingly close but in regards to DPS, StJ can pull ahead by a miniscule amount.

  9. I often take Ball of Lightning over Fireball because the Blaze Mastery pool requires an additional power pick to get FB. Shadow Meld is great if you are not softcap or want to isoftcap (59%) for incarnate trials. The Soul Mastery pool also has Moonbeam which may be useful come i24 and the snipe changes. We will see a lot of players switch over to the Leviathan PPP and Water Spout. The Overwhelming Force changing knockback to knockdown is going to be huge. I have never found Darkness and Mace Mastery very useful. Their damage is a little on the low side and Mace has a redraw factor. Weapons Mastery can be good if you just need Physical Perfection and the shuriken powers can fit nicely with a few character concepts but Shuriken/Exploding Shuriken have low damage as well.

If you have no end problems, try out Leviathan! It does a lot of damage and good mitigation with it's knockup ability.
  10. I love DB on stalkers again, the Sweep Combo has been fixed! I think it was just busted while the devs fixed the Ablating Strike + procs PBAoE bug. It's a fantastic set on stalkers post i22, the bug was just gravy.

The 4 listed uniques will provide the same effects if slotted in Health or True Grit so in that aspect, it does not matter. If you have slots to spare and want to improve hitpoints/regen, slot the uniques in Health and IO's into True Grit. It will increase your max HP and in turn increase your regen rate. Also nice to have them in Health as no matter what level you exemplar to, you will have the bonuses but if you choose True Grit at a later level, you can lose them if you exempt to low.

The Enhancement Catalysts only improve ATOs. Enhancement Converters can change a purple into a different purple.

You are running without OwtS right now, how are you currently surviving? If you're doing well, don't bother with it unless you want it as a mule. I have OwtS carrying a Steadfast unique and I use it about the same amount as Brawl.
  12. I recently unlocked Hybrid on my Spines/Dark scrapper. I took T4 Assault Radial, T4 Melee Core and thinking about making T4 Control Core.

T4 Control Core would have a chance to improve immobilization, stuns and fear effects on my character by +1 mag and can waylay for extra damage. Now my question, does waylay only have a chance to proc on enemies who received the +1 mag or will it work on any mezzed enemy regardless of the +1? If it is the latter of the two, the damage might be pretty decent, 75% chance for 32 pts of psionic damage. Any info would be great. Thanks.

For incarnate powers, I'm currently running tier 4 Melee Core, tier 4 Barrier Core, tier 4 Cardiac Core, tier 3 Reactive Radial and tier 3 Void Radial.
Oppressive Gloom may add that little extra bit of mitigation to help rampage through that mission. Having 2 mez auras is somewhat overkill for a lot of content in this game but will prevent several enemy attacks from occurring, more so than just one mez aura.

Since you are running with Melee Core, I changed the slotting of Obsidian Shield and Tough. Add a LotG 7.5% to Maneuvers and dropped Vengeance for OG:

  14. One cycle of your attack chain (IS-HB-SB-SC-AS-CU) takes 9.504 seconds and uses about 33.15 end total per cycle. You have an end gain of about 2.97 end/sec (PF proc and Musc Radial included) multiplied by the time of your chain, you gain a total of 28.23 end per cycle. So you use 4.92 end per cycle more than you gain. With a max end of 110, you can use your chain nonstop abour 22 times before crashing which is about 3 mins and 40 secs.

With Musc Core, you have an end gain of 2.85 e/s, 27.09 end gain per cycle meaning you are using 6.06 more end per cycle than you gain. You can run your cycle nonstop about 18 times before you crash which is about 2 mins and 53 secs.

Toss in the cast cost of Judgement and Rebirth which is a total of 40 end in 4.48 secs will subtract 26.69 from your max end. With Musc Radial, you can use your cycle about 17 times before crashing (2 mins 40 secs); with Musc Core, you can use your cycle around 13 times before crashing (2 mins 11 secs). Probably won't be able to use Judgement/Rebirth a second time after they recharge.

What does the above information mean for you? Absolutely nothing, just take what you like.
  15. A few things I can recommend are:

-Numina unique should be slotted in Health. While in Kuji-In Sha, it would need to be cast an average of 10 times to get the recovery buff once. In Health, it is pretty much perma.
-Take the end reduction IOs from Ninja Reflexes, Danger Sense and Kuji-In Rin and slot them in Stamina, PP and Superior Conditioning. All slotted with Performance Shifters IOs. The +2.5% end gain bonus from PF will make it better than end redux in those powers. Also with higher max end, you will get higher end gain with the PF procs. You also get some hp bonuses too.
-Get your +max end accolades, Born and Battle and Marshal.
-If you run around with Sprint active, slot an end redux IO. Hide alone is good enough unless you PVP. Turn Sprint off when in a long fight.
-Go Body Mastery and T4 Musculature Radial. The end mod bonus will help Stam, PP and SC.

I am sure it's doable. My StJ/SR stalker beats up pylons with less end gain than your build with the above changes.

I'm not that familiar with Poison but I do not believe it has any toggles. Storm has 3 toggles that when accumulated together has over a 2 end/sec consumption. Also Thugs does not have a power with a base cost of 30 end that is spammed every 8ish seconds, Ninja has Smoke Flash.

Now that I think about it, the new knockback to knockup IO is not a global effect and no more than one can be slotted by the user. It's a toss up between Hurricane and Tornado.
  18. FF, Time and maybe Traps would work out well because of their defense buffs; Dark and Storm would work out well for their -tohit debuffs.

You would be hard pressed to keep up with the damage ninja's take with a healing set and damage resist sets, instead of dying in 2 seconds, your ninjas will die in 4.

I would go Storm Summoning, Freezing Rain and Hurricane is a winning combo. There's a new IO coming out that changes knockback to knockup, toss that in Tornado along with the other recharge intensive pet IO buffs. Only drawback is Ninja/Storm will be the most endurance heavy MM ever.

A lot depends if you use PPP powers like Waterspout.

I'm surprised Staff's top chain out dps's DM or MA now.
Any Stalker regardless of what primary can use Water Spout so I did not take it into consideration.

DM and MA are better on SOs/common IOs but toss in purples/Achilles Heel/Decimation proc and the perma 15% damage buff and SF will likely pull ahead. I didn't do any number crunching but at a glance, it'll be close with NB. If the devs standardize AS cast times, NB will pass it for sure.
  20. I will take a stab at this. ST DPS, fully IO'd with enough recharge/endurance to run the top attack chains, IMO:

    Street Justice
    Dual Blades
    Electric Melee
    Kinetic Melee
    Staff Fighting
    Ninja Blade
    Martial Arts
    Broad Sword
    Dark Melee
    Energy Melee
    Claws
    Spines

AoE... Tough one, I'm not really sure. Just taking into consideration quantity, type/range, how quickly the AoE attacks can string together and miscellaneous:

    Electric Melee
    Staff Fighting
    Spines
    Dual Blades
    Street Justice
    Kinetic Melee
    Claws
    Broad Sword
    Dark Melee
    Ninja Blade
    Martial Arts
    Energy Melee
  21. I have a love/hate relationship with DB on Stalkers. Pre-i22 I hated it; during i22 I loved it; post i23 starting to dislike it. Since i23, the Sweep Combo has turned into a single target, knockdown attack (Previously it was a 10' PBAoE, knockdown). It is still a ST monster while running the Ablat-SS-Ablat-AS attack chain if you can muster enough recharge and endurance to keep it going. I can get 3 min pylon kills with Agility Radial Alpha and Reactive Radial Interface.

Ninjitsu is in the middle of the pack in regards to survival but the best overall for fun factor IMO. Caltrops is great, enemies aren't hitting you as they slowly try to run away. Self heal is always nice, even Blinding Powder I use sometimes. I did take Smoke Flash but I can count the number of times I used it on one hand. Will likely drop it out for a ranged attack on my next respec.

Overall, DB/Nin is a good combo but it will take a lot of work and influence to make it phenomenal.
  22. You focused on recharge but Spines does not need a lot to run it's top attack chain of TS-Rip-Imp. I recommend just working on your defense.

  23. Accolades, IO set bonuses do not affect a pet's hp but I have never noticed a pet's hp after Frostworks or Rebirth Core is cast on them.

    HO's and pets

No, it will not help the pet. If you have Mids', a good rule of thumb is whatever SO a pet can slot are the only ones that will help its power buffs. Zombie Horde can slot acc, dam, end redux, heal and tohit debuff. Adding an enhancement with a damage resist component will do nothing but the end redux portion of the Ribosome will help.

I think only a couple of pets have powers where damage resist enhancements will help, Demons and Dire Wolf.
