U cant even get a team on freedom anymore how am i supposed to get the badges in the shadow sharp(the tfs and the explore ones)

I think they should nerf the badges that at least would keep people going.

Or maybe cap the prices of purples to like 25 mill so people could get them there are so many things they could do at this point to make it easier.
if this isn't satire, it should be.
  3. that sometimes works for comic books for various reasons, but not for video games. if they are meaningless opposition, then the game fails to be challenging, and thus, fun.

    Certainly amuses me.
ditto. better when they have been here as long as me, who enjoys the game. they are in hell's pizza hut.
  5. hey, we should have catchy scene change themes..wonder which subforum i should put a thread requesting that in..im thinking either forum games or development.
  6. honestly, as a 69 er, i wouldnt care, vet rewards arent why im here, they are nice, sure, but i dont get too attached to them. but i dont think they are going to change the vet reward after it is out.

fair is a myth perpetuated to trick out of shape kids into playing dodgeball. cast it from your mind before considering the world.

Something relatively trivial that nevertheless signifies some sort of greater social dysfunction according to him. How the world will end with the malicious conspiracy of shadowy old men in high positions, because many people like Halo or something.

It's not an intentional image. I know it's wrong, and I know the person actually using the word "sheeple" is someone I know nothing about, and they are likely more intelligent and more worldly-wise and just generally more than I ever could be. (This has been true at least once in Real Life.)

But it's just such a persistent image.
mine is close, the clothes are the same, but ususally there are self inflicted wounds on his arms and the song "crawling" by linkin park playing in the background. basically, being a "nonconformist" is just as pig-stupid as being a conformist. You are still letting other people determine your actions, but you also have the bonuses of apparent severe social impairment and an inflated sense of self worth. I make whatever i can either make a good concept for, a good costume for, or a mind-numbing pun with, period, the only consideration i give to others is that usually they try to synergise with my regular playing group, but beyond that bugger it.
  9. lets jsut say that there is some major hand waving going on in the game about death...hmm major handwave..that might be a good name for an alt with really incongruous powers and origin.
  10. with the three of a kind inspire thing, rezzes arent as needed as before(nor were they ever absolutely NEEDED) but on bigger events, it is nie to be able to pop people back up..less pressure on a mm, as their focus really is about the added power of the pets. a defender might catch some complaints, but not many, the mindset really isnt particularly strong for ally rezzes being needed. though i have noticed when i whip out an ally rez, they are appreciated.

ok, thanks, then yeah, i wouldn't expect to see any specific reward for never switching, as that would be rightly perceived as harsh by players who like to check their options. but time wise i would assume that you would have the advantages at getting the faction specific rewards before people who might switch around a bit, just based on how focused your time would be.

Actually, that's EXACTLY what I was responding too. KayJMM wrote:
see, i reread his post a few times to verify, but i dont read it like you are reading it. Im reading it as a hero character staying a hero character or a villain staying a villain. he makes no qualifiers of staying a hero or villain continually, nor staying exclusively a villain/hero, just staying a single faction player verses playing a character that can access content from either faction(which would appear to be the best option, given the amount of content available to a player of a vigilante/rogue). That is how i read it at least, kay, can you specify which take you meant? do you mean never switching, or just not going grey?
  13. this would push to some extremely annoying camping that the developers have thus far seemed to be steering the content away from, i really cant get behind this at all and would likely get loudly cranky if it came to pass.

notat all, in many games there are choices and roles that characters can take(say going imperial or rebel in swg, or choosing one of the three home nations in ffXI, almost every kmmo has som e factional or naion membership that prevents some content and enables other content) that gate certain content and allow access to other content, i doubt this will be any different in execution. keep in mind we are not discussing someone who never switches or goes grey, merely one who goes to one of the polar extremes. I suspect(and hope) that there will be content to push your polarized moral bar positions that is as engaging as that which allows you go go freelance, otherwise i'd call it a missed opportunity to add an engaging dynamic to the game.
  15. dang, nice, glad to hear that you are back, and glad that you made it after a circuitous journey.
  16. you had me scared, thought this was a bug that crawled back from the graves.
  17. and paid good money for it.
  18. demon summoning is a harsh mistress, i dont even play masterminds usually and i love it.

It still is fun if you can get a good group. heck, do it up retro and have everyone use only original costume bits. i used to do it a lot during issue 9 when low level magic salvage was so expensive, the hellions were like lottery tickets back then. plus they were at that sweet spot for the wing recipes to drop before the developers moved the pools around, and while i never got the big ticket ones(butterfly i recall being 20-30 mill usually) i got a few insect wings there on my spiner.
  21. hmm, given how many plates they have spinning at the moment, i'm surprised they have any spare workpower to get anything ready for the anniversary. (this message brought to you by the society for tortured metaphors)
  22. i tend towards my own stuff. scrapping works that much better with symphonic metal music in the background. this has lead to some glowie issues, but its a reasonable tradeoff.
  23. funny thing, in morrowind, first thing i did with bonemold armor was whip on an exquisite skirt on my male argonian, it just looked cool.

anyhow, my big changes for me would be(to no surprise for anyone)
Grappling, Grappling into throwing, and the ability to weaponize background items as well as jsut throw them. co gets close, but just lifting something and whomping people on the head isnt the same as weaponizing, think the cop car boxing gloves from the hulk. plus the interruptability made it unusable in mid-fight, which is how a lot of cool superhero fights work. also grappling could be used to emphasize the "linebacker" quality of tankers, make them able to hold and toss enemies out of harms way, it makes more sense than a robot breaking off a fight with a defender it is going to win because a massive brick of unhurtability insulted it's mother.

out of combat skills. Yes, im going to get shot by the mission designers, but having different skills that would affect the general flow of missions could be nice. it always struck me as funny that Rian, a silly trigun-ish priest is able to hack computers, disarm bombs and regularly disable doomsday devices...is there an advanced electronic course in his seminary? It might be a good way to make the character themes work out to have different actions affect the general flow of arcs. You wouldnt get the same missions each time, but your skills could generally decide which missions you got in the flow of the arc.

combos for all scrappers. this presumes that the at's will be the same or will exist at all(i'd be ok without them really), but one way to diversify melee types would be to make their combat have a unique way to deal damage, maybe even add new animations if they chain together longer combos, as a payoff for perhaps a lower dps chain. really id prefer for there to be no tanks or scrapps, id prefer for stances to allow more flexability, offensive stance would make a scrapp or blaster, defensive may make a defender/tanker. Ats' are really a relic of the past, co didnt do it that well, and we dont know how dcou is going to pull it off, but the future seems to be getting rid of classes, and i'm thrilled with that.It does feel more comicy to have more fluid roles for players.

vehicles. no, not as travel powers, for reasons already described, but as a kind of instanced side game, it could be really cool.

and pvp, i dont like it, and wont do it, but they pay the same as i do, and designing it from the ground up with the game will probably work a lot better than the way it was attached t coh. Id youa re going to commit resources, may as well do it correctly.

oh, and one cool thing that arcanaville mentioned a while ago, travel power based combat, flying punches, teleporting strikes, that sort of thing, find some way of using co's "lunge" powers to sit on top of attacks, and we could get a lot closer to some iconic superheroes, like speedsters and fyling combat specialists. add a risk to it, maybe you get hit harder because you are basically throwing yoruself at the enemys counter strike, but the more kinetic fighting style would be more heroic.

wouldnt argue about that, would prefer it actually, but less recognizable to the average Americans than Japanese.

the second freedom force game had a character that used it, and since that was one of the very few superhero games to avoid the superhero curse, i think we can accord it some respect. this game gives so much freedom of character concept, honestly i'd be hesitant to dismiss any suggestion just based on the limits of my own imagination.
