  3. that isnt girl hitler, looks like someone from avatar. beyond that, cute, i loved the Michelle Rodriguez as well.

That is something i have observed as well. These kinds of threads are always rife with people giving her nonsense because she is a bit optimistic, but we have a bunch of people (not just in this thread, these things come up a lot) proudly claiming they would commit mass murder because of some really horribly thought out logic and that tends to get a free pass. The internet is weird.
  5. well, savign everyone does add a lot of travel time between things, and adds in the unpleasant possibility of effectively griefing lower level heroes in the zone, if the zone is quiet and the character has a scripted call for help thing, then yeah, also circle sacrifices, thats a bit more than a mugging, those guys fly.

heck i even save pedestrians on my vills, sometimes out of role-play justification, and sometimes out of habit.
  6. an interesting point brought up in another thread we had on the topic, people tend to look at superheros as glorified pro wrestlers, i'd say that in the curent world, if soemone were suddenly given superpowers and nobody else was, fighting would likely make a very small part of what you could do. putting out wildfires, saving sick people(as pork mentioned) getting those chilean miners out, rescuing the people cut off bu the pakistani floods, that, depending on your powers, is more likely what you would be doing.

As for how super-powered people would act? my guess is that they would be similar to rock stars, selfish, but venial. without a clear ideology, i don't see people genociding for fun, far more likely they will bang some models, imbibe great quantities of drugs and maybe make some really stupid recorded phone calls on tmz, but supervillains? id say the quantities of people who would go that far wouldn't be a great deal different.

oh and i took teh survey and name dropped our site, couldnt hurt for soemone interested in superheroes and psychology to check out our nut-house

well J, i understand what you mean in terms of continuous arcs with longer stories and arc completion bonuses. Some solace can be taken in the addition of new tip missions 20-50. I have to confess to being something of a tip junkie myself, so while i can certainly empathize with that position, there is some content coming in this issue for post 30 characters. and of course its presumed that the 2 tf's are (i am guessing based on the wording) for level capped characters with incarnate abilities unlocked, so while it kind of skips 30-49, 50 does indeed have 2 attractive dollops of ice cream.

I will admit, and this is just a musing, not a refutation, between paper/radios, contacts, tips, oroboros, tf's, level shifting to help other players of any level, and ma, options for content are thankfully bountiful in this game, i really have to discipline myself to try and get a representative sample of the stuff. I am always jonsesing for more, of course, but rarely feel a dearth of content at any specific time

    ditto on firefox, champs too.
  9. same as always really, those that have stamina still have it, and those that dont, dont need it. with tips and hero merits, im running my mature(level 50, not naked) characters more, so those decisions are already made..

eh, good and evil are lables applied after the fact, people are what their actions are. if silos's actions are different than nemesis' actions, then i dont see the label still sticking.

i suppose that could lead to a whole separate thread as to what really makes a superhero, themselves or the people they protect. tyrant was called into absolute power by a fearful people who willingly abdicated responsibility. states has thus far been restrained, but that could be because the people havent tried to make him a tyrant. (reichs i dont know the story of well) but perhaps the hero is only as great as the of the choices of his people.
  12. An oroboros future Japanese city, the zones would be seperated between the capital, where the enemies would be ultratech and modern espionage themed, similar to the setting of ghost in the shell. lots of giant robots, bio weapons and psychically enhanced super soldiers. and an outskirts area where sorcerers would be calling up different yokai monsters to fight for them. even some ghosts of various dead sengoku era warlords to add some authentic samurai and theatrically inaccurate ninja to the mix without looking silly. costume pieces would, of course, have to keep up

and a dinosaur or monster populated "lost world" type zone.
  13. ok dave, here ya go.

    1. carnie parts, specifically the corsets, masks, thigh high boots, hairstyles of the master illusionists, and if we could get the patterns of the illusionist/master illusionist tops as a tight option, maybe have it also selectable on skirts that we do have, the sashes too. that would be amazing. I noted dave has reservations with carnie masks, no prob, something similar but unique for players would be just as good, just some sort of cool porcelain mask with some sort of classical looking design on it and i'm golden. heck, kabuki masks would probably serve the same purpose for some here, but thats kind of outside of this particular thread

    2. tsoo sorcerer pants, love the pattern, seperate the legs if you need, like a pair of hakama.

    3. kheld sashes. you probably know this one, people have been begging for them since they appeared.

    4. legacy chain necklaces- i have been asking for a set of necklaces for a long time. these, and vanessa's cameo would really be great, maybe in either detail 2 or shoulders? im good for either.

    5. anything you can get from the ppd hardsuits would rock, i can understand massive clipping concerns, but what you can do, especially those cool one-eyed helmets, would make my powersuited characters sing.

    6. here's an out there one, but since we now have a "skinny trunk" with the clockwork one, could we get rikti body parts? might be a bridge too far, but had to ask.

    7. oh, one more long-shot one, but remember the monster head fuss we had a time ago, the minotaurs have pretty nice monster heads, and a few people wanted bull heads on their 3-part short list. the model is different, so i realize that feasibility may be an issue, but just throwing that out there.

thats all i can think of for now, right now my main priority would be carnie stuff, they are the most striking and i have concepts that would be ready at launch if we got them, oh and could we get the mask for men too?

oh and i noticed dave's question about priority, this above other stuff..that is really a ticky question to answer, we dont know exactly what else would be coming down the pike, but I will make a stand that maybe if all of the require the same amount of work, then yeah the npc pieces have been around the longest and have had people asking for them for a very long time, so my personal take is that the request has seniority on new stuff or lost stuff. now if doing this will take significantly longer and would prevent anything else from coming out, then my inner pragmatist says go with the most reasonable idea first. but in an ideal world where i actually had a informed opinion about the amount of resources and planning schedules went on at paragon and everything took roughly equal amounts of time, i'd probably give these the priority.

i am on your boat. zombies are just dull to me. and these setups dont seem interesting to me at all.
  15. edit: eh nevermind, that kind of puts him in an awkward situation, question redacted, we will see when we see.

Alright... I couldn't find the one picture I was remembering, but there is this link in this thread here.
I have to run out for now, so I can't finish my search for the pic!
ok, watched the video, if we get that, i will be VERY happy. hoping we see some magic themed stuff as well, but if we get that set, it is incredible, and exactly what was needed. i am upgraded to pretty freaking stoked now.

good, looks like, with the leviathan and medi-porter thing we are getting new regular content as well as tip and tf, i'm pleased with that, this issue has some content, wish there were costumes, but with everything else, im pretty positive about it.
  18. well, its entirely rp, but back when i got the game, i made my character seraph blue, an angelic character, who's bio mentioned she was supposed to "bring peace between humans and rikti". now this was before i found out the story of the rikti, i just knew they were aliens, and she was an angel, so it made a good vague destiny type motivation. well, she didnt solo very well (emp/lit defender) but after screwing around for a while, issue 10 for a while had a lot of pugging on my server, so who is the bad guy she stomped to get 50? with some friends..it was hro'd toz. now, knowing the story of what he does, it kind of was humorously prophetic that as per the text of finishign that arc, she kind of did do what had been kind of a throw away bio detail. the purple drop was sweet luck however, good show on that. Guess to reach your full potential, you have to overcome yourself.

quite right. Now my opinions for babs are, as i said, quite positive. And i reiterate that he was a major boon to both the game and ESPECIALLY the forums. but as of late, nelson really had done most of the visable animation work post issue 16, it seems more likely that the was working on something else other than coh. perhaps something that was experimental and either didnt pan out or was changed, but he was Schrodinger's developer for quite some time. A smart company would do well to hire him, and give him full access to the forums. I would give a compeing mmo a box sale just based on them picking babs up, may stay, may not, they still have to earn that, but i support the deserving.

He was wrong, based on observable evidence in the markets, horribly so. As we told them since 2007, merging the markets would have no downside to the operations of the markets and it hasn't.
Is that really what you got out of my post? nothing else?. your post postulates that the devs have been wrong and should listen to players. objectively true, but wat iw as trying tog et across is that the players say a large number of things, many of which would be unmitigated disasters for the game, and the signal to noise ratio is a great deal lower than you are claiming. Yes they have listened in the past to some ideas and made the game better, thats one reason we are occasionally happy, but the truth is that they are not designing by forum committee, they are fallible, as are the fans, but the kicker is that the fans generally (with some notable exceptions) do not have working knowledge of the industry. I would be of limited capacity to give advice to you about law, and you probably couldn't help me much in assembling a complex wire harness. We can give occasionally useful advice as to how their decisions could be made more fun, or more user friendly from an end user perspective, but people overstep that and begin to demand that the devs essentially take dictation of how to make the game and have rather large tantrums when their vision differs from the posters, then they have forgotten how these things work, and really arent helping make a productive dialogue with the devs.

Ultimately their careers and the continuation of the game are dependent on making sustainable decisions on the game, and while there is room for SOME collaboration between the players and the people who make them, reasonably we dont have their long term financial forecasts, we dont have their internal management nor interactions with ncsoft and we have a very limited understanding of the game, as a whole. our points are, at best layman's opinions. So to reiterate my point hoping second time is a charm here, the devs, while not infallible bear a great deal more responsibility for the game than we do, so they really do have to be more realistic about what can be done than we would have the required information to make a informed comment on.

and for a lighter point, you got proliferation more recently than i got a new free costume part (technically tails were an animated existing costume part, the slot was new, though, i concede) so get in line

heh, maybe that is the takeaway from all of this. paragon just tipped its hand, the incarnate stuff will feature underwater zones and babs took the smart way out .
