one point sam brings up and I'd like to support in a sense is the ability to have more head details with best heads. right now on most of them we see the 6 ear positions for standard beast heads and a few more for the beast pack ones. I know they would have to be pretty much made from scratch given the different shape of the heads, but making a few hairs, horns and maybe(as i said in the dino thread) a few attachable fins and frills would be a worthwhile endeavor. now, sam and I diverge, he wants the more stylized "toon" looks and i want flat-out monsters, no big deal really, but im pretty sure whatever they can give us would work for both of our want lists.

there was a time I would have said not gonna happen. now I'd be more surprised if it didnt. the one advantage over flexables like whips and flails is that they really dont hang free, the moves are always tightly constrained motions with both ends of the chain held steady. so yeah, Wouldnt say no...with dual blades and staff, we could now have a tmnt tribute group.

Cute can change to horror real fast with animals.
boxers can do this too. they look nothing like wolves, but the change in temperament, from big puppy to will rip your arm off can be striking. we had one that wouldnt bark..he would just quietly, but with clear purpose, move into position when there was a unexplained noise..he did not want to spook it away.

Yes, even Cel-shading Online's Might powerset puts our SS to shame.

    .
I say this a lot..mostly because its true, but you are insane. I play all 3 superhero mmos, and there is not one that does the hurling and weaponizing thing in a smooth and organic fashion. It is at best an inferior alpha mechanic to any of the charged shots in the competition online(or a laughably slow melee attack that rarely even uses an appropriate animation for the weaponized environment detail) or an incredibly gimmicky thing that is of limited use, limited and arbitrary application, and is terrible to try and use in a fight unless an npc or teammate is taking the aggro as in our direct competition online. There is no good representation of a weaponized environment system in mmos right now, coh is just too old to have tried it, and the others tried and failed terribly.
  6. I have too admit, this is a sore spot for me. they knew we wanted it, they knew we wanted it since issue 17 beta, and the fact that they have never gone foreward with it is an area that has my usually dev supporting self pretty annoyed. while i appreciate the new powersets and all that freedom has brought is, animation customization was a major draw for me and it has been ignored since the ranged attacks several issues a go, this really needs to be something that happens and is part of the core subscriber experience, not an additional cost for vips.
  7. well, as I said before, i have one of everything, and i have a demons/poison mm, its fun in small doses, but , to borrow alpha's thing for a second, I want to punch all the av's/eb's, gm's and npc's in the face..or rather kick them in the face. mm's generally cater to a playstyle of standing back, running the show and not getting your hands dirty much, and that's great, but I didn't even use weapon based characters till the carrot of weapon customization lured me in, I kind of like to be the fighter, not control the fighters from a somewhat safe distance.
  8. maybe they will find a workaround, but they actually tried and it caused major issues.

ya know, its art intensive, but id like it.

frankly, im wondering if dying in video games(all of em, not jsut mmos) isnt ready to go the way of 25 cent buy ins and 3 lives. It really only serves to break up the narrative, make continuing immersion breaking and, with most major games having checkpoints lots of places, largely an annoyance rather than a real consequence. Worse, in games with persistance like mmos, the explaination as to why death was so minor an inconvenience is almost always awkward and silly.

I didnt miss it in fable 2 or 3, and i didnt miss it in kirby's epic yarn. these games still made getting hurt a problem because it interfered with your progress or attainment of higher rewards, but didnt rely on the jarring idea that you died..oops, you are fine now. Really, id say those games actually made it hurt more, because you you were going for a great new ability in fable, or a secret stage patch in kirby, getting tagged and falling short SUCKED, and you couldn't just reload from 5 seconds a go and do it again. it really serves little narrative purpose and is a relic of a bygoen age.

(ok, it kind of works in dark/demons souls, but thats because the whole game is about dying over and over again)

scales also gives a reptillian underbelly, that doesnt really work with fish. so far I have been using bioluminescent a lot more for my fish themed chars.

I'm always good for fish costume stuff, back detail, hand and foot fins, a fish finned tail, all good. we kind of have arm/leg fins, but it would be nice to have bare versions, rather than the bulky boot/glove look. I also would like wing options that look like rikuo from darkstalkers

you know, giving the devs their due, issue 15 seemed to address 3 things. people wanted reichsman and had been asking for him for years. love it or hate it, it added him in game
    2. this was in the midst of the whole booster pack thing, and many were pecking paragon heavily for selling booster packs and not giving any new costume pieces as part of the base subscription price. 15 had the ulterior set and the vines pattern. it wasn't much, but it was an olive branch.
    3. it was a quickie release to get out on the anniversery with no closed beta, people used to get seriously cranky about them back in the day, complaining of bias in the sample pool so the whole issue seemed to be a pacifier more than a full issue.

Something that makes me think comics...like the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Justice League, Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Galactus etc. We have some of that and need more. Video games have a lot to do with looks. Give us some cool looking NPCs. Many current groups in-game are pretty 'meh' looking; some are also kinda dull and generic feeling (various militia etc).
utter nonsense, quit trying to hold back my game with your narrow definition of comic books. seriously, the same bunch of narrow minded people come in and spout this thread after thread, and its just plain wrong, coh embraces the broad variety of heroic comic options, it is not, nor should it ever be relegated to an outdated and anachronistic interpretation of superheroic fiction. there already is a superhero mmo out there with a bunch of spandex crap, and its garbage, lets keep coh free form for the modern times.

That is quite the amazing feat of mental contortion!
In a way, not really. now to preface this, I dont feel this way so its devils advocating here, but it seems to be their point that new stuff is happening at a disproportionate way, lots of new powers but similar content to go through limits the novelty a bit. wether you are using water blast, plant melee or feather duster assult set, if you are whacking the same enemies over and over again, it can still feel like the same stuff. now balance is different for every person and for some valuations are weighted differently, For me new zones are ok, but costume sets are a major thing, and powersets are less of a pressing need for me. but its less a crazy thought process and more a different valuation and feeling of balance of content. Its more likely that for the op, 7 years in a game that is still mostly in the diku mud style setup is a dang long time, and i can understand burning out even on the best thing. , you left for a time, and that helped reset your clock, I play a lot of other games and often dont play for a week or so,so i reset my clock, but if you play anything, no matter how good, for 7 years is just a long time.

  20. my answer, is just play with them. while teaming is not required for mmos, it can make things significantly more fun, so if you hear a call out for something you may have the badge for and dont personally need, but hear someone else asking for people to run, its nice sometimes to be the facilitator of other people's fun.
  21. hey, just thought of something else that would be nice. plantigrade beastly feet. yeah we have the animal fur on the uni-toe foot, but what I am talking about is the splay clawed feet from the digitigrade (beast) feet but modified to go on flat feet.

beast legs have a really limited amount of pants that are useable with them, we cant use armored legs or tucked in legs or any kind of bulky legs (can we add any kind of loose pants for them, that would be nice too) so the ability to have "regular" feet with the splay claws would be really nice.

one last thing, with the steampunk look we got "victorian"-ish outfits, that's great, but could we get any outfits based on the current "gothic" style? ruffles, frills, patterns like the baron coat, maybe some necklaces with general mystic and not overly specific religious symbols(maybe a general cross, star, 6 pointed star, ankh, Buddhist beads nothing too specific, but general stuff), this could lead to some neat outfits. maybe some facial piercings as a detail 2 and new makeup options.

    Outrage!!!

sorta, a long standing trope (maybe real life justified) is that major evil figures are out for themselves and are unable to nurture longstanding alliances with other powerful like minded people. Its either a subordinate or a potential knife in the back.

  24. you know, if relation to the title, it could be. Think about it, take a fairly strong power, give it a little bit of a learning curve and some bad pr, and suddenly nem wouldn't have to worry about dealing with it as much. It would probably be one of his better plots really, trick people into avoiding good options.

Que? most lizards eat bugs, komodo dragons eat just about everything that walks under their perch, up to and including large mammals. I cant think of any lizard that is not a predator(edit, ok apparently the crested gecko can be entirely herbivorous) . maybe not an apex predator, but they are definitely several steps up in the food chain.
