were i to guess, i'm thinking you will be correct on this. new game price tends towards 49.99-59.99, expansions tend to be39.99. also likely on the collectors edition which will be the one i puchase, despite the fact that my cov figure(didnt get the collectors ed that time, so only one) is currently collecting dust on my shelf.

    Would You Buy...

provided it had enough good looking things, very likely. More likely i would have our sg leader buy it because i tend not to really have the patience to decorate in a coherent theme.
  3. cost is undetermined. as of now we are assuming it will be a retail box, though i would be unsurprised to find it at the direct to drive type places for the same cost as the box.
  4. with ninja run coming so soon after walk, i have to admit that i haven't used it much, i think i may have used it some, but honestly it was a request of the rpers, so i'm happy they have it for themselves.
  5. nah i barely have time to level and io one version of my characters with all the alts i have, a second would be redundant.

it would be nice to get told what is at least going through the teams minds about it but hey thats my xmas list for ya.

the trouble is as well. with what little word there is about this game, theres more bad thoughts from annoying little sad people about it. i think i saw a video the other day on youtube and the whole page was people bad thoughts about it. we dont need what word we have bad mouthed before people try it.

    Devs do SOMETHING more yer.

aye on this hand...dont really have a great advertisement plan that hasnt already been said in the past or posted here now. (or i would add it )

as was said, devs dont handle advertisements, buut, during the launch of the architect pack, the banners were pretty heavily circulated around gamer-centric sites i visit, and that was really just the existing game plus the architect system, they even hired a group to do viral videos for the at system, starring the other singer from barenaked ladies, which were fairly funny and got the whole "touch my awesome button" thing going. I would be very surprised if there was not another push once gr was closer on the horizon.

I won't say no to other animal parts like monstrous arms, legs, and heads, but I can say with a high degree of certainty that I probably wouldn't use them.
yeah, a fox/wolf tail is a common request too, i do sympathise with one thing. that may be an issue is that a bushy tail might start to look cartoonish. i know the wolf tail in champs looks kind of chunky and clay-looking. a fox tail can work since it is smooth, a bushy tail may be harder. but in either situation, i have a werewolf secondary main in cov that would love for me to be wrong. fish fins too, i have a mermaid that is making due with the finned gloves option, but its clunky.
  8. that would work for me. quite well actually.

Little Ceaser's pizza sells large 1 topping pizza's for only $5 bucks.

Burger King, Mcdonalds, Wendy's, Sonics all sell several types of sandwiches for a buck a piece as well as a variety of other items.

Taco Bell has items as low as .79 cents on their value menus

KFC has lunch boxes for $1.99

Long John Silver's also has their own version of the dollar menu

Subway has $5. foot long subs

    Arby's run a 5 items for $5 deal

I'm a fat slob and I can easily get 2 or three meals out of $10. depending on where I go.
are you getting drinks or a side? i eat at subway often, and while i find a foot long to be a bit much for my taste, i just get the six inch sub, the drinks and chips plus tax tends to run things up into the 7 dollar range, plus if we are going beyond fast food, to sit down places like a perkins or italian oven, you find yourself within a dollar of the ma pack very fast. but you get my point about shifting resources, right? that the cost is fairly low and can be covered within a week by making subtle adjustments to your daily costs. Since we are talking food, i covered it easily, my regular lunches at work were 5 for a drink, side and entree, i just got heatable entrees for 2 bucks at the local grocery store and bought a drink at work, saving 2.05 a day, spread out over 5 days and the cost was covered for a minor adjustment and no real decline in food quality.

For the Nth time already, I'm asking for new COSTUME options, not new powers.
you know, my suspicion(NOTE entirely guessing here, could easily be wrong) is that more items for the back costume slot, which have been hinted at before with the jay designing so many backpacks yadda yadda quote, are going to be something they are going to bring about in going rogue. outside of the veterans awards of issue 8, we really havent had a substantial costume pick release in some time. The last major one which introduced new categories like monstrous heads and legs was...that's right, the last expansion, city of villains. So my guess is that we will see backpacks and jetpacks in going rogue, not just a booster.

i notice you also are asking for scabbards and quivers, i will try to find the quote, but last i recall they didnt want to do them unless they could get them to sync up with the powers that would use them. so that is likely why we havent seen tham and may not for some time. it is kind of jarring on champions to have no scabbards that match your sword at times, and other times to draw out your sword and still have a blade sheathed at your side, so like heavy clipping, it is going to really bug some people, and comes down to a design decision.

  13. though again, a fair way that i think would alleviate this is turn it into a token based system, at certain intervals you get costume tokens, costume change, respec tokens and power tokens. have them at intervals that generally matched the rate the things were given at, and then let people choose what items they got, you just 3 months in and want boxers, but not trenchies, cash in the costume token on the boxers instead. that way new items will still be instantly available to old farts like myself but the new players dont get excluded from something that may fit their concept but is prohibitively far away. powers like the wands and melees are maybe at an every 6 months, and the rest can be divvied up by people more patient than me. Vet rewards are a cool system, but given our supposedly unusual retention rates, its hard to shake some of us. also people who get second accounts would also have more freedom of how they cashed in their rewards.

People can be an ungreatful lot let me tell you...
well, actually the clipping thing has been hashed over several times and yeah, there will never be consensus. the old jay rule was no clipping with 90% of items, when he announced that the high collars from the magic pack were announced to clip badly with larger shoulder options, and honestly people were happy. The hard truth seems to be that if you make parts that extend a certain bit from the body, they are going to have issues. I know on champions the same thing comes up, there are a lot of costume options that clip horribly with others, you really have to make the aesthetic choice. For truth in advertising purposes, i would happily sacrifice some clipping to get tails with these new robes. a separate issue is the shoulder pads separating, this is a real issue and apparently its being fixed(maybe it has already been fixed, dunno, havent changed costumes for a bit)

well, lets be fair, i'm getting the 66 in a few days, but putting a much wanted shiny at the over 5 year mark is kind of daunting to any player starting today. vet rewards have been great, but after a certain point putting anything too amazing in becomes a disincentive for people just starting, besides, city traveler is still pretty darn good.

If you feel the principle is worth your time to do so, sure, why not?

One of the biggest problems in the consumerscape is this. When we get screwed over
(again, speaking in general, not on the booster pack in specific,) we don't usually
do anything about it. Whether it's for $10 or $100, or whatever, we just shrug and
go "oh well it's only X" and go on about our business. Granted that's more
convenient to do most of the time, but it encourages patterns of bad behavior,
poor customer service, and nickel-and-dime money making at the consumer's
    expense.

If you want quality service delivered to you, you have to stand up and go "Hey,
just a second here..." and let them know, when you feel you haven't received
fair value for your buck. If OP or anyone else, feels that the booster pack didn't
deliver said value for their buck for whatever reason, I wouldn't find it all that big of
a problem to go about reversing the transaction. It gets them their $10 back(which
would be worth double in personal satisfaction, in that event,) and delivers a
message about product quality/service, to the people who listen the hardest.
not that i think it will matter, but i really have to question your use of screwed over. outside of aesthetic complaints, we got a power that, if anything, may be a little too good for a microtransaction item. we got a lot of costume options that occasionally clip but have spawned several long threads of admirers that have made novel uses of them, and several new sword models.

I hate to invoke personal responsibility here, but pics of the costumes and youtube vids of the ninja run were out on the day the pack was released. the "screwed over" consumer has the responsibility to educate him/herself as to the aesthetics of the pack before buying it, if they don't do that really is not the fault of the company. If you are that concerned about quality, wait a few days for the full report of the consumers to make sure, and be educated , beyond that knock off the entitled consumer deal, and try the informed consumer instead.

heh, i'd say that its a case of terminology, monstrous does not inherently mean evil in the context used, i tend to use it to combine the concepts of bestial and powerful, the other association, of being nasty is not really implied, but i see how that could be misunderstood since it is another standard definiton of it. Its generally just used here to mean beast+strong.

Rian is monstrous but would spend all day saving kittens from trees(were it ingame) and putting out fires in steel, its just that he is a dragon who can tear apart Malta robots with his feet and fists, so its a step up from being just a beast, hes a monster.
  18. tails to work with robes..that is all.

An understandable mistake, given how freaking awesome and useful Ninja Run is.
well, the run is anime-ish, i have seen it used in naruto and ninja themed anime, but i have also seen it in excel saga, gachaman and even some giant robot anime, its an expressive form of running, thats it, lets not get bogged down on names(and recall that it was originally called wuxia run, after chinese kung fu films, but that got voted down). I know a lot of people fixate on the "ninjas are cool" line from herocon, but come on people, lets use some of that vaunted imagination that leads us to go on about the costume creator in the first place, less narrow mindedness, more fancy!!!
  20. ideal is swishing tails, or a monster run. more realistic would me more monstrous options, tentacles and fish fins would be great. since martial arts pack had Chinese swords, maybe some weird bone claws. also good would be more options for beast ehads, right now we have 5 ears, id like some horns, fins or the like. the dragon head is great, but lemmie put some horns on it.

not to get bogged down in this silly derail, but threads have already shown swashbucklers, "v" style alien soldiers, monks of the four winds, mixed martial artists, wizards, Chinese soldiers, et cetera, with the new options but it certainly was not just "ninja"

one thign i would REALLY like is for jay to go back and make robes compatible with tails, the martial arts pack forced some hard choices for me that it shouldnt have. lemmie take some clipping if it means i can stay true to my concepts. that has been bugging me since issue 4.

    Gone for 2 years

crazy is subjective, nothing to the extent of enhancement diversification, though if you pvp, you will find it changed. on the good side, check out the architecht building, some good stories there, and hit up the tailors, your primary and secondary powers can now be customized, and if you have any martial arts or super strength characters, then you really are in luck, there now are alternate sets of animations you can select on a by costume basis. pools epics and epic at's are slated for a pass later. also, what have you heard about going rogue, stuff is set to get interesting soon.

  23. quite a bit. i have been here 5 and a half years, started paying quarterly, then went yearly around the three year anniversery, and recently have taken advantage of the holiday deal and the loyalty deal for 14 months each. got cov at launch, got the coh box a bit after launch(blame final fantasy XI for the reluctance) have all the boosters and bought 5 character slots for liberty. also got the valk, wedding, and g vs e packs.

so it probably is quite a pretty penny. Cant blame my comp upgrades on coh thus far, they were for oblivion, but my current upgrade purchases are going to be specced out according to going rogue. so there will be that, but im holding of till close to release, as graphics cards tend to go down in price, and i'm really not playing anything else that graphics intensive right now.

I have to say, this analogy is deeply flawed. asking to stay at someones house is asking for a significant accomidation on the part of the people you are asking, not to mention a risk that the petitioner could do bodily harm to you once allowed in. asking to join a team in a video game, particularly one designed to be played in teams is a minor inconvenience and carries no risk. provided they are polite, some peoples severity of reactions is simply baffling, just say no, if they persist orr are rude, that's a different story, but beyond that it is far from a significant inconvenience.

Well, except at a restaurant, we can all see if my Scrapper is hovering protectively over her chicken mcdeadlets, or my Controller is handing out samples, or my Controller is letting whoever walks by sample his wares. (The Blaster and the Tank are both in the parking lot, looking for a fight)
And I can also see wether that table is full of teenagers, a wedding party, or a bunch of gamers playing Magic...

In fact, you're right, It doesn't work- I'd actually be much more likely to approach a stranger's table at a restaurant than I would try inviting myself to a team.
this also is a bad analogy, outside of maybe a japanese hibachi resturaunt where people sit at larger tables and are seated with strangers. It is exceedingly rare to have strangers sit at tables withe ach other in fast food resturaunts, and there certainly is no percieved benefit to doing so, in an mmo generally teaming allows access to different content and provvides benefits of increased preformance and, in the case of some buff powers, a new level of functionality, so no resturaunt analogy works with a massively multiplayer online game.

maybe an ok analogy is if you are at a basketball court playing a game with your friends and someone comes up and asks to play. the analogy has limits because uneven numbers of players are generally avoided, but at least it covers the fact that this is a setting where people do approach one another and getting together, while not required, still nets different rewards than just shooting baskets by yourself.

and to head off this old chestnut before it takes root, I am not saying that everyone needs to team, i solo often myself, but i am saying that this kind of game does carry the implication of teaming, and getting pissy about it is silly given the nature of the game genre. so long as everyone is polite you are not being put out by typing "no, sorry"
