I believe the OP is using a S/L farm and vengeance bait to bring up the defenses for further assistance and survivability.
I did a quick swap of his purples and it brings Drain Psyche 3 seconds short of perma and Hasten is short of 5 seconds. Of course your loosing DPS but your cutting down the price of the build into the millions instead of billions. I did a a non purple build in another thread and I think I cut it down to 1 second short of perma. So someone with not funds could do the limited build and then farm until they could afford 1 purple set and end up at perma Drain Psyche. -

Wow Turbo_Ski you should be a motivational speaker.
But for just general comment for others. I have DP Kin corruptor which has no issue. Or at least I can say is not horrendous and can solo on a decent setting of 2/8 - 3/8.
I always feel if your having trouble post a build and have others look at it. -
I have a dark electric with diamagnetic ( additional hit debuff ) which is ranged capped and with darkest night puts me at melee and aoe cap. In addition I have the Incarnate proc going off 75% of the time with even an additional hit debuff. Which some would consider over kill.
On top of all of this I pretty much drain the end from all the mobs in several hits. But even with all of this he just does not have Umph that my other toons have.
I figured I would put it out here and maybe someone might have something better that they are using.
Again its not a bad build I am soloing some decent mobs and even some 3/8 settings. But trying to do some TIP missions even on 2/6 can be a pain. He just does not feel as durable as some other toons I run. Now team wise I think he plays a much better part and I can say he helps out tons or at least much more then I am feeling it solo.
So again my whole point is just to see what others are doing if anything with their dark electric toons.

I did this build prior to Alpha incarnate coming out. I'm Musculature atm I think with him. I will probably rework it and consider Cardiac. He is full Positional defense cap. It uses Artic and bile which are pretty cool powers.
If you notice the regular IOs in Combat Jump and Maneuvers. I guess I could switch out the 2 IOs in Maneuvers and get place 2 LOTG and get a regeneration increase. But If I swapped those 2 out those 2 regular IOs I would loose tenths of a point in defenses just bringing me shy of the defense cap.
The difference beyond some numbers is I went more PBAOE attack. Basically I use super speed with the stealth IO to get me into melee range and let loose. As with many cap toons I can do 4/8 setting with him.

Your powers seem fine
Though you might want to put some slots in those powers to do a bit of damage.
Personally I think you need to give a little to get a little if you know what I mean.
If anything there are several dozen DP Mind builds on these forums about 11 of them are on the first page alone. Don't try to reinvent the wheel as there is not secret combo that has not already been discovered if you get what I mean.
Are you going to put IOs in this build ? Or just unslotted to level 50 ?
If nothing else I said above makes sense this might.

My old windows box was so old the process upgrade was about 200 bucks because it was not made anymore and that old box ran CoH much better then my 27 inch all in one mac that cost me 2k. The only reason I picked up the mac client for the mac is because they made it sound like its a whole new client and code specifically for the Mac. If they would have said it was a wine wrapper I would have understood and not picked up or paid for the client.
Knowing the issues they had with the client it would have been better off to give the client away for free and then users for mac would have nothing to expect back. They would have been better getting the extra monthly payments from mac users off a free client then being now stuck having to support something they clearly only have partial control over.
Oddly enough I use a lot of software in my work and we review software and test it out. One of the first things we do is make sure the software is not dependent on something else to work that end up being outdated, expired or the company just goes belly up. A simple example is someone using an Oracle database as its back end, now your dependent on Oracle still being around and supporting this database. Now you need to see if there are any vulnerabilities in this database that can be exploited on this piece of software. Of course the developers or salesman don't know so we don't even bother. I know this and I'm half a nitwit, how could NCSoft not know or care.
I am truly setting myself up to expect this client not working until the 23rd which is pretty much what happen last time of being down for 10 days.
For sure the only thing I am doing is downloading and running it. I am not going to delete things or wave chicken bones over my computer or whatever crazy stuff you have to do to make the client work. Its either install and work or for sure unlike last time they will either credit me or I will dispute the charge on my card and quit. I consider myself a sucker for letting 10 days go by without any kick back. I get 1 day, 2 days, heck even 3 days, you know I might even go a 4th if its not in a row. But 10 days of paying for something that doesn't work really did seem very unfair and unreasonable. -

If this is for the windows client players, when will the Mac client players be able to log in. I would guess something around similar to last time 10 days later I guess, on Sept 23? -

Either the players testing it and posting were not good blasters, did not understand the game mechanics, or the DPS seems low.
I read several reports where people had issues soloing because of the single attack issues. Though I am aware BR has a nice AOE, it just did not have enough of them.
I know and understand Traps. To me Traps is super kick butt. It makes my defender, corruptor and masterminds do what a tank, scrapper and brute can do. I solo 4/8 setting with those toons. I think Traps will give BR the extra aoe dps via trip mine and the defense cap to give you more time to kill off the mobs. I'm thinking that you might not be able to do 4/8 with a BR blaster but you might be able to handle 4/3 setting with a hover blaster. I need to see what IOs can be slotted in the powers.
Plus let see how its tweaked when it comes out. -

Seriously though I do read up on a bunch of stuff about the game and the game mechanics. I did your CEBR mission with a WP claw scrapper on Virtue when freedom was down. I did it half arsed and was able to get to 15 I think.
Base wise I have 1 hero and 1 villain full to the gills. Each holds 3 IO bins and the rest is salvage bins.
I read up on the market and making money. I just never read up on what to do when you can't find the IO you need. I did a few searches but I couldn't find it or my wording was off.
I'm a bit disorganized as well and I'm working to fix that up.
I might pick up some extra market slots when freedom comes out as well. -

But honesty if you have the guts to rate someone 1 star then you should have the guts to tell people who you are. And I want to use another word then guts but I know the filter will block it or I would get reported.
But if you rated someone 1 star and they did tell all their friends not to group with you. Then so what ? Is that the entire player base ? Of course not.. As a side note you don't think that these forums don't have it's own set of cronies ? Players that stick up for each other for the sake of just ganging up on someone. Of course they do.
I think the biggest mistake you can do is posting your Arc number in your signature. As I said in the past and I will say this again. If someone gets upset over what your saying in the forums and they don't like the outcome here. They can always 1 star you in AE and they can do it every time they can. And since it anonymous its even better because you will never know I'm stabbing you in the back. At least now you know why someone might 1 star you.
I say if its that bad then force a restart of the AE slate.
1 star everyone until everyone is at a 1 star rating and then see who rates these missions to get them back up.
Or at least limit the number of times you can rate something. If you rated it 5 stars 2 weeks ago then there is no reason why you need to rate it again 5 stars.
Or link the account with the forum name. Make sure some how that the rater and creator did not have any interaction on the forums for x amount of time. Or at least record it so if the creator says hey this guy 1 stared me for what I said in the forums at least now you can go back and confirm this.
Trust me I'm an easy going guy.
But I can turn into a super jerk and 1 star you and everyone you know all day if I get them twisted enough.
This is why you need to nuke them all from orbit to make sure. -

Do you think there could be a lettering players could push out that would denote one type of AE from another.
For example in the title the first 2 letters would be SA-Fighting the Tide.
SA would denote Story Arch. Which means not a farm.
Or again I don't know if it is possible. Maybe to bring the point home go on a 1 star campaign and if you can 1 star all the devs choice AE missions to make it clear what the issue is. Heck just 1 star everything, everyone takes a hit.
Just like they removed the rating system on the forums because they seen what it did. Maybe showing them the how bad the system currently is flawed might fix this issue. -
Wow .. Okay..
What everyone has been saying you guys pretty much said it all in the past. I have to say its just me. It was me being a bit lazy and hating the market. So I just purchased what I needed and used it for storage more then anything.
I just have been fortunate to get a boon fall of purple IOs for some strange reason. At one point I swore it was the costume I made on my Arch EM blaster because that was the toon that was getting all the drops. So I was able to sell a few here and there to flesh out toons.
Another issue was to me place a bid and wait meant 20 minutes of waiting. I just never thought about waiting a week. But I can say atm I did what some have said and I actually purchased some of those Positron IOs just over the length of time this thread has been out.
I learned my lesson not to fight it but understand it and and work with it. It really seems much better. My only issue now is I'm getting so involved in the market and I am trying to learn so much its killing my play time go figure.
But even with buying stuff I have made over 500k so far on my toons. I need to organize a bit more. I have stuff all over the place and I'm repeatedly logging in toons because I forget whats on what toon.
Again for some reason I read all the threads in the past and asked questions. But for some odd reason Organica thread just spurred me into action.. Who knows sometimes.. -

How do you have thousands of merits. Is it just making sure you get a TF done, especially the weekly specials ? Or is there some other way I am not aware of.

I did read topdoc thread and a bunch others. For some reason yours was the catalyst that got me doing the market. So I do the rolls topdoc listed and then sell them on the market. The one thing I do that some might be against is I use my tickets to get the rare and uncommon salvage. Only because I find it easier to get the AE tickets then the money.
I do have to re-read your thread regarding the merits you acquired. I did the zone merits rewards though.

The level isn't an issue as I just need the recharge bonus.
General statement:
The cool thing is you all pretty much said what I expected or knew. Which is great in the sense there isn't some big secret that I am just not getting or missing.
I guess its just getting off my duff and not being lazy about it if I want to do it. Part of me is whining saying I don't want to do this, but making the money and not selling off another purple I might want for the future is also pretty neat. I'm a bit of a hoarder myself. I have 3 IO bins almost full of stuff I just have yet to use. I think I have 4 sets of kinetic combats just wait for that day. When that day is I have no clue.
I would pay to have something that would tell me what I have on each toon instead of keeping to log off and on just to see what each has on the market, bank or on them personally. -
The title is deceiving.
Preface: After reading some stuff and looking at Organica thread regarding leveling a toon I started playing the market game a bit and actually made some money on several toons. End result I made about 400 million.
So I have this Huntsman build I am looking to create to be range capped and Perma pets. My build needs 3 sets of 5 Positron IO's. I start looking and pretty much notice that many of these IOs are not on the market and the ones that are available are just a lot of money. I could blow probably 200 million or more just on getting these 3 sets.
I'm not trying to be cheap, but it does kill me I would have to spend TONS money on the single IO that is available of that type or buy the premade which would be even higher.
I'm still trying to figure out or get a feel on how to buy and sell so I'm a bit leery being afraid to screw up big. Plus to be honest what seems to take people a few minutes a night seems to take me about an hour or more because I'm scanning the market for the different prices between crafted an the IO and then looking at the other levels and what is available.
I figured there has to be a better way. I have numerous farm toons to get AE tickets. But when I started to try to figure out what to roll for what type of IO I just got stuck and confused. I started reading about the pools but then noticed some where combined. That just threw me off even more.
I understood what level to roll to make make some money with AE tickets but I just don't get what to roll to attempt to get a certain IO.
Does anyone know how to or can just give a bit of guidance on how to interpret the wiki info. I don't need a full blown detail to waste someones time. Just a head start and I can follow up if I get stuck. -
Is there some bug with the numpad keybind because I use all attack command via that and my pets stay in defense mode but attack.. I mean I use it all the time. I never have different pets doing different things. Its either all or nothing.

Just chiming in with pretty much what everyone else is saying.
With Traps its pretty much all the time for trip mine and I don't even pick up time bomb. I did have it on a my Sonic Traps corruptor at first but just got interrupted too much. -

Your over thinking, honestly.
For regular content and even some TF/SF, for example ITF. You maybe need 4 key players that know what they are doing. Meaning if you have 4 maxed out players the rest are just extra dps. It's those 4 that are really carrying the team.
Perfect example if you have one guy that can solo 4/8 setting and you come along and join him. What exactly happens now. Does the game now make it 4/9 setting ? No its still 4/8..
So what I am saying is forget what you think those other players are going to do and worry about making yourself the best that you can be. That is what is going to make a difference to the team. Not that you have these situations in mind and what you can do when they occur. Today at level 50 teams are STEAM ROLLING through regular content. Teams are doing TF and SF in 30 minutes ( even less ). No one is going to wait for you to do what you want. No one waited for me and no one even cared when I tried to have a device player do his stuff.
Have you read some of the brute threads. Players complain if it takes longer then 10 minutes to complete a farm. And you think that someone is gonna care that your gonna drop a time bomb over a bed of caltrops ?
If your gonna do IOs. Then do what is best for you. Max the toon out the best you can for you.
In my mind I was refusing to make a build but I just gave in..
This build has you at S/L cap with cloaking device suppressed. It comes out 45.1 suppressed. Your range defense is at 33. One purple inspiration and you will be ranged defense capped.
You can have out 2 Gun drones. Gun Drone duration is 90 seconds the recharge is 43. Your spiderling pet is 23 seconds short of perma.
From your build I decreased your Hail of bullets from 72 seconds down to 27 seconds.
I gave you pistols because the attack chain is gonna be a bit odd pistol will fill in that spot. I had dual wield on my toon and there were times I just had nothing to do but wait for a power to recharge.
Trip mine is recharge is 4.6 seconds.
Web envelope is aoe web which is better then web grenade since you can hold everyone in place.
In Gun Drone you can go with expedient reinforcement but your not going to get the regen bonus due to rule of 5. The 5% resistance bonus to pets is garbage by itself. The recharge bonus it offers is nominal at his point and all it is doing is shaving off fractions of a second from your powers. So I went with Thunderstrike for the overall bonuses and increase range defense numbers. You can just flip over the slots and just compare them to thunderstrike for yourself to see.
Smoke grenade gives you another 6.5 defense bonus for 60 seconds. Just cycle it with your attacks and you will notice the difference.
Nutshell with one purple inspiration and smoke grenade your almost full positional defense capped.
I swapped out targeting drone for Tactics because it only increases your endurance by .5 from 1.7 to 1.75 and it benefits the pets as well and yes a team.
I think it took me more time typing all this then it did to make the build.
You can put just normal defense IOs until you can afford LOTG IOs.
You will need Cardiac Alpha because the endurance to recovery is less then 2 points.

I got it..
You only have 1 power that is rated to do damage by using it and that is your first power mesmerize. After that no attacks are rated for damage and you are not actually hurting anyone personally. They might hurt each other but your not actually doing it.

But for certain ATs or even mastermind builds I do not see anything wrong with 6 slotting Numina in health. I know its a different topic but just putting it out there. I sent the op my build and clearly explained that there are many other builds out here that are different from mine. So I am not trying to taint the op to my direction build wise. My advantage I think I have is just needing 1 purple to cap for the incarnate missions ( 59% defense ) where as other will need 2 purples. Its not a big deal but your don't get an ending supply of inspirations also and you don't always get 3 to combine. Regardless my build is out here on the forums as well so no big secrets. -
