My memory usage for CoH stays mostly around 1 GB.
The only obvious thing I can see is that you should upgrade to Windows XP SP3, although I'm not sure if that will solve you're problem. -
I think that all end sections in the sewers are like that.
I at least have seen this in many places. -
Gloves 'Witch Tight' for females is clipping at the elbows, i.e. showing the upper body selection.
-
On the test server I crash consistently, when I try to enable 'Vertical Sync'.
I have an ATI Radeon 5770 with the Catalyst 10.4 drivers.
I know there were issues with this card when changing some graphical settings, but I thought they had been worked out.
I have tried doing the change while in a mission, so graphical stress should be as low as possible, but with same result.
So, is this just current state?
And if so, does anyone know how to enable 'Vertical Sync' on test?
I have considered just changing the regedit key for 'UseVSync' from 0 to 1, but not sure if that will do the trick. -
Yes, it is a bug.
And yes, it is somewhat annoying.
It was reported during Beta, but maybe it isn't as easy to fix as one would think. -
This problem can, as far as I know, be caused by Microsoft Security Essentials.
If you have that installed, check that CoH isn't delayed by that.
If not, you might need to give more information like CoH Helper and HiJackThis reports. -
General advice.
Update your video and sound drivers to the newest available.
If using an ATI video card, be sure to disable ATI Hotkey Poller, as listed higher up.
Your specific problems might look alike, but can be very different in cause, so I recommend starting new threads with relevant information.
That will properly be the best way to get help. -
Anaku, I think you need to be a little more specific about when / how you get lag spikes.
I have a secondary computer, which is able to run Ultra mode somewhat limited but still fairly stable. Your computer has better specs and all your settings are very low.
So I would expect that you should be able to do better than that. -

Quote:This seems weird to me.So today is patch day and... no joy. That's right, Test still works for me, Release still doesn't.
I would be almost certain that the versions on Test and on Live were identical.
You don't happen to have another computer nearby, that could verify the same experience?
Or could Test versus Live have different setups in your computer, like in the firewall or similar?! -
I am a bit confused.
The game version are listed as identical to the one on test, and that includes the following patch notes:
Quote:Gameplay- Fixed a rare crash when saving changes to custom powers.
- Fixed a crash for players using GeForce4 MX cards when creating a new character and getting to the 'name' screen. It may also clear up other crashes and issues with headshots/bodyshots on lower end graphics cards.
I'm not sure if they just have been missed in the Live ones, or they actually aren't included. -
My oldest, which actually isn't my main got 79...
-
I think you're right.
I checked a character created after I17 went live, and she has 2 free tokens

Quote:Are you by any chance using Microsoft Security Essentials? Thanks for the tip, Kioshi. Now I can see my mouse cursor, but I also see what the real problem is: slow response time. My mouse moves at a snail's pace, it takes several mouse clicks to activate any of the menus. Also, when using the arrow keys to move my character, there is a hesitancy and when I'm done pressing there is still movement.
Others have reported it can cause this problem.
The cure is to allow CoH (or something similar). -
Have you tested if the updated drivers have done any difference?
Besides that, the only thing that I see, is that you only have 1 GB memory.
That means it will use a swap file on the hard-disk, so I would suggest to increase the swap file to 3 GB, and also do a de-fragmentation of your hard-disk for optimal performance.
And a last thing. Decrease maximum particles to 10.000 or so. I don't think you can see any difference and it should save some resources.
Edit: close all other programs to save memory. A HiJackThis will show what is running in your machine. -
Please run and paste the information from CoH Helper.
-
I would start with updating your video drivers. They are a bit old.
And when giving system information, it's a good idea to use CoH Helper.
It provides system information as well as your game settings. -
You're low on hard-disk capacity.
I expect you're using C for the page-file.
I'm not sure it will solve your problem, but I would recommend that you at least defrag all your drives. -
Patience
I know, it is annoying, but until ATI solves it in their drivers, AA and AO can't work together in the 5-series cards.
So till then you must choose if you prefer AA or AO. -
It is supposed to be inside.
When the new cape mission was introduced, the mission point sometimes showed up outside.
I thought it was fixed, but either it wasn't or the bug has re-appeared. -
I'm not sure if you have tried installing the latest driver from Intel, instead of looking towards Toshiba - if not, it might be worth a try.
Just be sure to clean out the old driver before installing the new. -
I'm sorry to hear you can't get updated drivers for your graphics, as it might be essential.
But have you tried starting in Safe Mode?
Chances are that something in your graphic settings are enabled, that your graphic solution can't handle. -
The FSAA option is moved to the top section of the Graphic settings.
-
Well, I would expect that you haven't been in I17 yet, so try checking that your firewall doesn't block it. The firewall might see it as a new program.
