  1. When I see stuff like "we need a healer" i know its a team to avoid.

Come to find out there's a Dark defender, a Rad controller, and the leader himself was a /TA controller. He spends about 10 minutes looking for a healer, broadcasting and probably spamming any defenders in /search asking if they were empaths. I was fine with this, since I needed to get new enhancers anyway. Once done, I was getting bored and I sent him a tell saying that with the shear amount of debuffs available, plus the fact that we had 2 blasters and one or two scrappers on the team, we'd be fine if we didn't have a dedicated healer. I also mentioned that the /rad troller would be able to toss out emergency heals here and there, as well. So he grabs a scrapper, and we roll. (Unfortunately, just before we roll, the Dark DCed and we never heard from him. We went anyway.)

We wipe in the first spawn. But that was due to poor planning and not everyone was ready. So we hosp, get back in, and proceed to steamroll through the TF. Only time we had another wipe was in the last mission when we went to go into the building, only to get hit with a massively huge ambush full of spectral demons and all their tohit debuffing annoyingness. We hosp/base, grabbing insps from where ever we can, and get back in. Was a very fun TF, and I think I managed to show another of the "need heals" types that heals aren't always necessary, and that 99% of the time, debuffs + high DPS is all you need. Loved it.

Of course, you could go the opposite way and decide that the winning advantage on this bruteworld ended up being small and fast.

Since this game is "City of Giants" I made my most recent scrapper 4' 6" I find she gets more buffs that way
  3. Well my .02 INF

I like the set visually, I have fun playing the set. It feels like it does "underperform" compared to my other Scrappers. The only real issue I have is the long EC animation time. Even worse, when I miss with it.

Just lower the animation time on EC. It is really the only issue I have.
  4. It seems like Blasters get a "IMHO" better version of bonfire. It does KD instead of KB. It does nice damage while bouncing a mob in it like Oil Slick Arrow on fire.

The controller KB version simply isn't as useful. It can have some very nice applications but its far more situational.

Any explanation on this one? Perhaps this makes the case for chaning it to a lower mag KB so it does KD with the option of adding in KB enhancements?

    AE ticket revamp

Tickets are still rewarding enough that its still full of farm missions.

If its fallen out of favor its because of all of the collateral damage to the general playerbase in having to make our arcs compliant with the latest AE changes.

Any thoughts of what the ticket for recipe exchange should be?

  6. There is a fine line between just enough and creating spawn camping.

They could probably push it to 3 or 4 merits but much higher would create spawn camping.

Also server population certianly makes special events hard for lower population servers. Also, the longer the event goes, the less people care. So yeah, there is some of that "been there done that".

I certianly would like a little more but with how busy the devs are with GR and dealing with AE farms I doubt they have much time to address this.

  7. Well, actually the joke is, unless it "overperforms" the devs simply have little incentive to "fix" it.

  8. There are a few levels were enhancement levels are annoying.

11 is one of the worst levels since anything bought would be yellow and your 1 level short of DOs.

21 well unless your really desperate for end, I can wait til 22 to stick in SO/IOs in stamina

31 While the 3 slots are nice its annoying that your 1 level short of sticking a level 35 SO/IO in there.

Those levels I am in no hurry to level.

In any event, the new Posi came out 2 months ago - that's probably the start of when they'd have enough data to consider changing it. Give 'em time.

I fixed the post so its 1 Merit per 3.7 minutes.

Seems like there are people are being grumpy about it. I know what my times are for other TF/SFs generally are and Positron is on the low end of merits/time.

So yes, the correct tactic is to reduce the number of players to as low as possible to best deal with stacking Dispersion Bubbles from Ruin Mages, but hey that's a different topic.

Reducing the players to 4 yielded sub 40 minute Positron 1 TF. Which would pin the total at 10.5 rounded to 11 Merits. Which is what its currently at. I still say 11 is being stingy.

So, I guess the "fix" is with Ruin Mages.
  10. I know about the fact it can be stealthed and the fact that with 3 players (with stamina) it goes much faster.

Its about how fast it can be one with 7 other random people of varying levels. Since it is the first TF a new player will encounter it would probably be nice for it to be something other than "just another speed run" for badges and merits.

  11. The new Positron TFs are rather stingy with the merits. Any chance they can be reviewed and scaled up some?

Based on my "average" times Positron 1 should be 19 Merits based on the 1 merit per 3.7 minutes. Positron 2 should be 21 Merits by the same formula.

Now that the new car smell is wearing off Positron TF it should be time to make sure the rewards are "correct"

    Thanks
  12. Title says it all. It would be a nice thing to add.
  13. I would have said no as well.

I don't think I would have responed after the "No, thank you."

So, there you have it, folks. The big news for today - I'm a noob. And here I always thought I was just a garden variety idiot. The more you know, I guess.

    *edit*
I'm ashamed I got my veteran badges wrong, by the way. I just checked, and the last one I have is 69.
  14. Not enough people take it in PuGs

In my SG we try to stack it as much as we can.
  15. Heh, thinking about it, why not make mystic fortune like secondary mutation, a self buff.

It would mean no more complaints about "drive-by unwanted buffs" and no more complaints about the pop up window.

    SD - Grant Cover

I did take GC on my scrapper, but I will work on a build with mid's and copy my character to test and try it without it.

    SD - Grant Cover

Is there a reason why I don't see many people with Grant Cover?

I do team with my SD scrapper and Brute. However, I don't see this power taken often. Any other insights other than it "doesn't help me"?

It does give some resistance to def debuff and recharge debuff to the user and team.
  19. 40k? Its probably on the pessimistic side of the ballbark.

My estimated PCU is about 8000-10000. If we assume at peak 80% is offline that puts it at 40k-50k. Of course those numbers are somewhat higher since there are people hidden but since we don't see PCU numbers anymore. Its just a guess. If we assume 85% is offline that puts it about 53K to 67K. So, 40k to 67k is my rough estimate.
  20. I agree. Srsly.

  21. Since XP/influence were removed from TF/SF how about compensating us for that? Some extra merits might be a good idea.

Numina TF, a bunch of hunts all over the place and its possible for the hunt to get hosed over by a zone event. So anyways, how about adjusting these TF/SF with hunts with some extra merits? Rather than to just take stuff from us.

Another idea, just remove ALL hunts from TF/SF.
  22. If your going to remove the reward for the annoying hunts in a TF, why not just remove the hunts!

The Positron TF parts 1 and 2 are undervalued for the effort. So pretty soon once the shiny wears off, it might be run less than the original Positrion. Ruin mages with Dispersion Bubble and Spectral Demon Lords with to hit debuffs is pretty bad. Add in earthquakes and -def immobilizes . Oh yeah, gotta love that death trap called City Hall.

Real disincentive to do this TF now, another one off the list, I used to do it a lot. Not good, in the last few weeks Posi (scandalously under rewarded for merits), Numina and LGTF have gone, what next ?
  23. I'll have to run my dominator some again. I noticed that last time I played her this week I noticed Lost Anathema Lts seemed to be overly resistant to holds.

Good work changing the Mitos Castle. I don't like a certain AT to be required for an TF/SF just like I don't like an AT being excluded from one.

Basically, it doesn't seem like you actually managed to stack 3 holds on them. That's not surprising, since the low Mez durations (and generally lower Recharge) at low levels makes it hard to stack mezzes.
