I'll probably use my new free time to design my own game.

MMOs as they currently work are going the way of the Dodo. The key is to come up with the next great new idea.

Edit: I dunno what MMO if any, the only other one to keep my interest for more than 3 months is Eve-O. TF2 is the only other online game I currently play other than CoH.

TonyV: It was nice meeting you at the Meet and Greets at Paragon Studios. I hope something comes out of your endevors. If something does happen I'll be there to support it.

Yeah in a sense its a relief, I guess I will be buying an ATI card after all since they always seem to be the best value for the money whenever I am in the market for a video card. The news scuttles my plans of getting an nvidia card.

That is just a TN display and fairly low end compared to the rest of your rig. Try this for a monitor, a Dell 30" IPS display. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...ynote_irrank=0

Now you can play the game on a 30" 2560x1600 IPS display and not on a 24" TN 1920x1080 display.

GT430 is a fairly low end video card yet you have Windows 7 Ultimate?

If you did the OS "nuke" and still have issues, then were looking at a hardware issue.

I would not buy stuff off ebay esp video cards. Those are often fairly abused. Nvidia cards over 2 years old can just up and die too. I would not be too surprised that those cards being unloaded are in the early stages of video card death. They still work sort of...

For SSDs, I would go Intel.

The PSU at 800W is very overkill, but I am finding that quality units are pushing the min wattage up these days. Its getting harder to find quality units that are less than 400W and cheap. So, its probably a case of you won't save much dropping down 100W-200W.

Stick to Air Cooling, water coolers even sealed systems ones do spring leaks. The performance on those units are not worth the extra cost, performance and risk.

Silly question, which version of windows?

It *may* just be early signs of the video card dying. If you have some way to borrow a video card for testing it would probably answer the question.

Sounds doomed to me.

I had something like that when my 8800GT died. It would die in game after about 10 seconds and die in safe mode after about 30 seconds. When I ran stress tests on the thing with synthetic benchmarks it was fine. Then about a week later machine boots up no video. Welp so much for the video card.

Just get a bigger higher resolution monitor.

Dell makes a 30" 2560x1600 and there will soon be more affordable 27" 2560x1440 monitors.

It could be lots of things.

How long do you have to play before crashes start?

Does the game crash in game safe mode?

Have you given your PC a good cleaning with compressed air?

Is your hard drive close to full?

What else did you upgrade?

Well, you could try another full re-install of Windows.

Hard to judge the quality of the parts but that Gigabyte MB uses a very very old 630a chipset and its made with really cheap parts. The Bulldozer CPU is bottom of the barrel. This looks like a Microcenter "firesale" special.

What memory exactly is in there? It could be really old cheap stuff.

"recently" faulty AMD drivers? Actually, they have been pretty good of late.
