Yes I want this so bad. A monkey head, monkeyfur chest and legs, and monkey feet that look like hands.

Quote:How is that any different than the lazy bums who hang out in AE all day paying millions and millions of inf to enter and let a farmer do all the work from 1-50? At least with bank missions they wouldn't have to pay another player to do all the work and they would actually have to do the work themselves.Unsigned.
No. Definitely not. This will encourage people to stay in the same zone grinding out Radio Missions from 1-50. It's bad enough as it is that Radios seems to be all people want to do on teams, but this will make matters worse. City of Heroes will be come City of Couch Potatoes. Not fun. Dull as dishwater.
Then again, considering how really lazy some people are, I don't think bank missions would be farmed that much. Some idiots want to stand around doing nothing for maximum gain.
"Looking for free farm"
"Can somebody please farm me?"
"Please! I need a free farm I have to gain a few levels"
"Paying 300 mill per run from level 1-50"
Catch my drift? -
If they could add a couple more slots at level 50 so we could 6 slot our final power that would be awesome. Nobody below level 50 would have to respec at all because they wouldn't be at the point of gaining the additional slots to begin with. Also, forcing a respec upon log in would be a stupid idea. A big message that pops up on screen for a few seconds whenever the player logged in on that character until they respec would be a better idea. It would give people a chance to find out what is going on and then replan their builds in Mids or whatever they need to do to prepare for a respec.
If they placed the slots at a lower level than 50, not ALL characters would have to be respeced, unless they decided to place the slots at level 3. I have at least a couple characters less than level 5 and a few between level 5 and 20.
Also, if I recall, for 1 day around the 8th anniversary of the game, they gave every single character a free respec that day when you logged in on each character. What would prevent them from doing that again? Make it a single day and if you didn't get your free respec on some characters or all of them you're out of luck.
I would be totally against adding enhancement slots to the shop. Not just because it would be pay-to-win, which I think it really is, but because it would break the game badly. I do think it would be pay-to-win simply because the players who do not purchase the extra slots are less powerful than players who do. With everybody getting the same exact amount slots on a character, it's even (excluding VIP only incarnate junk).
It also makes you have to think on how you want to build your character. When I make a build in Mids for a new character before I create it, or completely redo one I'm not happy with performance wise, It can take me as much as 5 hours moving slots around and looking at the numbers and everything and searching the Archetype forums for ideas on how things work. If I could just up and buy enough slots to 6 slot every power, my underused brain would be even more useless than it already is. -
I want a throwing ninja star or dagger power set. Or have both daggers and ninja stars in the same power set
Closest thing we got is Shuriken and Exploding Shuriken in the Scrapper/Stalker Ancillary power pool.
(And a nunchucks power set too.) -
Meh. I have 1 global friend, my SG leader, and he is almost never on anymore. No server friends. But I do think it is a good idea for the more sociable players. (I prefer help channel anyway. More people to chat with at 1 time.

Just to set the record straight, the NC Soft launcher itself doesn't install or ask you to install Pando. The only online games I have on my computer are Guild Wars and City of Heroes. I just did a search on my computer and found that I do not have Pando Media Booster anywhere. In fact, I've never had any other MMOs aside from those 2 installed on this system. So if you are playing CoH and get some pop up about it, it would be because Aion uses it, and possibly Lineage II, that is if you have either of those games installed or have had them installed. If you have neither of those games then it must be another you have installed or installed at one time. Neither Guild Wars or CoH (confirmed by red name) uses Pando.
Doing a Google search, it seems some games that might use it would be: League of Legends, Star Trek online, Lord of the Rings online, Aion, Lineage II, Dungeons & Dragons online, Perfect World International, etc. Most of the Google results are discussions on official forums for these games and/or a FAQ page about it.
Hmm....I did find something interesting. http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=241273
In regards to Lineage II. (dated recent, June 18, 2012) It shows a screen shot from the NC Soft launcher. I don't have Lineage II so I can't confirm that. But......the screen shot shown would be clicking the little arrow on the Lineage II bar and selecting Properties, that is if you have it installed. -
Yes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pando_Media_Booster
Not much info there. And no list of games that use it. -
Quote:Yes if you think about it, it costs $15 to buy 1200 points for a single reward token that gets you 5 free super packs. The single price in the shop is 80 points. So you can spend $5 for 400 paragon points to get the same amount of super packs you can with a reward token.I'm not sure what they gain by making the super packs VIP Tier 9 rather than just plain ol' Tier 9.
As each token represents substantial material support given to the game, either in the form of subscribing or buying stuff outright, it seems churlish to wall the super packs off behind the VIP Only barrier.
I'd pause at describing it as a slap in the face, but if I were in your shoes I'd detect a definite sense of ingratitude emanating from Paragon Studios.
What ticks me off mainly is the lack of logical reason, or even mention, as to why this was moved to the VIP only tier 9, and the lack of comments on the forums even mentioning it seems to indicate that nobody at all even cares.
As a somewhat big supporter of this game as a Premium player, I DO see this as a slap in the face. As if to say the more money I spend the less of a reward I am going to get. No matter what they will NOT coerce me or force me to become a subscriber, which I believe is becoming more and more their intention. If I were to ever subscribe it would be only for a month and to spend my reward tokens on the Mecha Armor costume pieces and nothing more. I was planning on it possibly in July, but now seriously reconsidering it.
To be honest, I just never understood the logic that for $15 a month as a subscriber I would be treated like royalty and have all kinds of free and exclusive stuff thrown my way, but when I usually spend $100+ almost every month on paragon points to support the game, they are saying "thanks for the moolah, but since you're not in our exclusive special club, you can go jump off a cliff if you want anything from us.". And of course VIP are getting a raw deal anyway, having the need to purchase extra points so they can get certain power sets and costume sets. Some VIP I believe can only rely on their 400 free points a month and have no extra income to spend anymore than that on the game. Those players just can't keep up with the game in that aspect. By the time they have enough points saved up for that super awesome new power set or costume bundle, something new they have to spend points on has been, or is going to be, released.
What is the point of going VIP when I have all but the incarnate content, and certain story arcs, only to have to spend even more money on the game if I want some of the new stuff added to the shop? At least this way I have access to IOs, merits, auction, all power sets and costumes to date, and I can just tell them to take a hike and not spend any more money on the game in protest and just keep playing for free. I wouldn't lose anything, just the ability to gain anything newly released. I have currently 27 characters out of 30 character slots. Only 3 of them are level 50, so I have more than enough to keep me busy not having to spend anymore money at all on this game.
Edited for typo. The E and Y are different hands on ma keyboard -
Quote:I got the whole costume set from buying super packs in the shop the first or second day when they were released (March 6, 2012). Then on the day they added super packs to the NON VIP tier 9 rewards I used 30 reward tokens I had saved up from buying paragon points to get 150 free packs and still didn't get the stupid wolf. Then I bought another 12 or 24 pack (don't remember which) from the shop and after opening the 8th super pack I got the wolf. Total super packs to get the wolf = about 176.On today's TwitchTV stream, it was revealed that there are NO PLANS to release the Costume/Vanity stuff from the Super Pack because:
"We have not decided we want to do that. Again, we are open to the idea, but we haven't decided if we even want to do that yet. And the reason is that you can get Super Packs via Paragon Rewards Tokens, which a lot of people have taken advantage of that."
Worse, they are discontinuing the Paragon Rewards option for Super Pack 1 when Super Pack 2 comes out. This means that players objecting to spending real money to gamble for the chance to get a costume set will have no other means to get the costume parts, and that is if they don't "retire" the original Super Packs from the store as well when the next set comes online.
From Zwillinger's body language, they seem to be extremely adverse to offering the Costume/Vanity stuff outside of the packs. This decision should be changed. They have been aware of the objections for over six months now and should have already made plans for an "exit strategy" for these items.
For the record, I did use 3 reward tokens (15 packs) to attempt to get the costume set... I didn't get the entire costume set. I feel that this choice for not providing other means after a pack is discontinued is completely irresponsible given that the costume editor is the cornerstone of this game. They know players have objected to the nature of the distribution, yet are plowing ahead with not offering an alternate means of getting the items. I know one player that say they have spent over $400 to try to get the Black Wolf pet. It is inexcusable that item has less than 1% chance of dropping, yet they don't want to provide other means to get it.
What really ticked me off was when they moved the super packs in paragon rewards from the non VIP tier 9 to the VIP ONLY tier 9 with the release of issue 23 on May 31, 2012. Currently I have 8 reward tokens from buying points this month that I have no intention to spend on the other repeatable crap. I thought it was a nice reward for supporting the game in my own way.
At first I thought it was 'added' to VIP tier 9 and thought it was strange the amount of super packs you get for 1 token was the same as the non VIP tier 9 (VIP getting 10 for 1 token compared to premiums getting 5 would have made sense to me) and also that it showed I had a token in a VIP only tier when I've never subscribed (turned out it was because I had placed a token in the slot prior to it being moved). Then I looked again and realized it wasn't added, it was MOVED.
I have never seen any reason for this change at all anywhere on the forums. The May 31 patch notes only states "Super Packs are now available in the Tier 9 VIP section.". It made no mention of it being removed from the non VIP tier 9. I just looked at the comments on the May 31 patch notes in News, Events & Discussions, and it seems not a single comment on the super packs at all.
Does anybody know what reason they had to slap me in the face and take away a reward that I was able to get for almost 2 months? (super packs were added to the non VIP tier 9 reward March 6, 2012, and moved to VIP tier 9 May 31st. I looked up the patch notes.)
Please spare me the "maybe you should go VIP instead of buying points" crap. I don't have any desire for incarnate content and I love supporting the game. The future is always uncertain and everything I have purchased I never have to worry about losing if I had a subscription that lapsed or I'm not able to buy more points for whatever reason. And the only thing I would have to worry about if I can't buy points is not being able to get new costumes/power sets, which is no big deal since they are generally a permanent fixture in the market and I can always get them later.
How many of you can say you have this many reward tokens? Would have been nice to continue to receive a small reward for my support of the game.
Note: I've never subscribed to the game and I've been playing since Sept. 29, 2011, a couple days after the game went F2P I believe. First paragon point purchase was October 11.
Edited for typo. -
Quote:Guild Wars doesn't use it and as stated by others, neither does City of Heroes. Do you happen to have Aion installed? I've heard people say that game uses it. If not, then it must be some other online game you have installed on your computer.Just out of curiosity does anyone know if Paragon Studios or NCSoft use something called Pando Media Booster? Was downloading a patch for the test server and half way through got a prompt to install something called Pando Media Booster. The NCSoft launcher was the only thing running at the time.
Hmm.........tried doing Google searches to find a list of NC Soft games, or any list of games at all that use Pando Media Booster. I got nothing at all that came up. However, I came across an article from Massively dated April 17, 2012 that said Aion is no longer using Pando but it was edited later that they got a response from NC Soft that the removal of Pando for Aion was only temporary. http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/04...ster-the-boot/
Seems the biggest complaint is that Pando hogs system resources and continues to run even when the compatible game is not downloading any updates.
Edit: The Pando website doesn't seem to have a list of games that use their software. It would be nice if people could find such a list so they can avoid games that use it if that is their desire. -
Quote:After running it a few times on different characters (1 toon I had to do a few runs on for the ninja monkey badge. 1 time we needed just 1 more monkey for it lol) and haven't seen the TP bug occur at all. So I would say it's been fixed with the patch and I was surprised they fixed it so quickly, 2 days after the event started. So I am very pleased with this.Actually, I was stating that I've seen that not be the case to someone else who held that opinion. Of course, the patch today should have fixed it and made this a moot point.
Hopefully. -
It was changed sometime between issue 21 and 22 if I remember right. The reason for the change was because the footstomp animation required you to be on the ground and I think players wanted to be able to use it in the air, such as while combat flight is active.
And for future reference, please post in the proper section.

Edit: So the TP bug happens when in the middle of fighting mobs in the rooms and you think that may be preventing us from being teleported to the hideout? Good possibility. For myself, I have actually been fighting those mobs but never seen the bug happen then. I get TPed to the hideout and I'm always disappointed I didn't get to finish beating them up for the xp and inf lol.
-
Quote:Agreed it's a good possibility. Although the bugs are known and they are working on a fix.Yeah, it's listed as being attuned, but acting like it was set at the level of the character when collected. I really hoped that and the AH bug would be part of today's patch, but apparently not.
Then again, considering that it's misattuning them, they may have held off on opening up the AH for it until they fix the bug since it might do wonky things to the listings otherwise...

I got 1 on a level 50 character and it shows the minimum level requirement is level 47. I mailed it to a character of much lower level and the level requirement stayed the same. I also got 1 on a level 46 character and it shows the minimum level as 43. It seems these enhancements when obtained are of the same level as your character. I was expecting this new set to be attuned like ATOs where there is a minimum level requirement of like level 10 or maybe even 15, and that the percentages would increase in value on your character as your character leveled up. Is this intentional?
I could see major problems with this. Overwhelming Force in certain level ranges will be in high demand which means that players will increase the inf prices (that is when the bug preventing these from being added to the auction is fixed).

Another problem: temp powers and vanity pets are usable at random times through the trial.
Such as: most of the time I am unable to do things like summon my leprechaun pet, use a consumable temp power such as hand grenades, veteran reward powers such as sands of mu, nemesis staff, but I am able to use everything in 1 phase of the trial. But which phase in the heist is random and I can occasionally use them in the time gladiator part.
Edit: In regards to fixing the trial, it probably won't happen for a week or 2. There was a bug in the winter event back in December but it didn't get fixed until almost the end of the event. Forgot what bug that was.
Edit 2: Might have been the Halloween event I'm thinking of that had a bug that wasn't fixed right away.
Edit 3: The bug I'm thinking of might be where everybody on the team in the holiday trial were mapserved right at the end disconnecting all of them and all progress made in the trail such as inf, xp, badges, merits, etc. were completely reversed. Everything gone. In fact, I think it happened on both the Halloween and Winter events and didn't get fixed for some time. By the time they fixed it, nobody wanted to do the trial anymore during the event. Seems to be a habit of them pushing out bugged trials during special events and not fixing them soon enough to keep people wanting to participate in them. -
Quote:No. Aside from First Ward and Night Ward, the only other place you can go outside Praetoria is Pocket D. You can not go anywhere else until you do 1 of the 2 missions in Praetoria that lets you choose hero or villain side. There is no option or way to automatically change alignment to hero/villain without doing the mission. On that note, anyone know what happens if you take your Praetorian through a portal out of Praetoria and/or First Ward? Can you even use the portals? Does it automatically switch you to the alignment of the first area you go to?
As a secondary observation: Running repeatable content in First Ward is mind-numbingly boring. My praetorian is level 26 by now, without choosing a primal-earth alignment. Because I'm stubborn. But... I just can't take any more of those missions. Gah.
I've tried grabbing a team, but First Ward is pretty desolate.
And I had the same exact problem in First Ward. Got my Resistance character to level 26 when I finished all story arcs (excluding the VIP only story arc since I'm not VIP). I put my character on hold for now because it is very boring. All I have are 3 contacts that offer repeatable missions.
I did do the Fireball and Trilogy story arcs in Night Ward on another character though. All of the missions were too short and the Trilogy missions usually had 1 or 2 NPC allies that did more damage than me. I didn't really have to do anything. Just sit back and let the over-powered NPCs do all the work. It left much to be desired. No wonder they decided to allow all players, including free-to-play, to have access to those contacts. Just felt like there was little effort put into Night Ward and I was surprised they created a whole new zone for that instead of just adding the contacts and story arcs to First Ward. -
That is not something we can answer. You will have to file a petition and ask support about a possible refund.
-
I'd say yes. It's best to put that in an auto power or toggle because it continues to roll for a chance to go off (in a toggle: as long as you have to toggle on). In a click power the chance to go off is based on when you click the power. If you don't click the power often it will go off even less. It seems to be a really common thing to place that into stamina judging by builds posted on the AT forums, as well as I have some characters with it in stamina and plan to have it there on all my characters. So I would say yes it is worth it.

Quote:I did all the First Ward story arcs on my Resistance character about a week ago, minus the VIP only arcs. I noticed that too. Another thing I noticed was that all or most of the ambush spawns, spawned near Blind Makwa and went straight for him when he was standing at his altar. He never attacked or anything. Just stood there like an idiot. I was afraid that if he died I would fail the mission, so I stood there until all the ambushes were defeated. Then took the next NPC to their altar thing and had to go back to keep Makwa from dying because the ambushes kept spawning outside the fence near him.Yah see thats the thing....i dont remember them burning endurence that fast.....not after 5 attacks and having nothing left.....
But i do recall them missing alot......and eventualy getting real low on endurence...i also recall them defending their censor they get to.....now they just stand there and do nothing once they reach it.
.
Thankfully I was on my Beam Rifle/Dark Miasma corruptor and had Twilight Grasp. Problem is it can only be used on a enemy target and NPCs have to be close to you and they often times run into melee range of enemies and I prefer to stay at range. -
Yes exactly. The Great Escape zone event in Neutropolis is about the only way to get the defeat badge for Failed Experiments if your character is not praetorian and/or too high level to do the missions.
How to start: when you get to the location you will have a window pop up. If the window has a timer, that means someone else had recently completed the event and you need to wait until the timer is gone. To make sure you get the Failed Experiments for the badge, you need to start the event by attacking them outside the building to start the mission. (Each of the 3 Praetorian zone events have a 1 hour timer after completed/failed. Nobody will be able to do the event at all until the timer runs out)
Note: There are 2 ways to do the mission: Failed Experiments or defeat PPD officers. The end rewards are pretty much the same except, depending on which way you started the event, you will have a choice to unlock 1 of 2 emotes: Ghoul Flex and Ghoul Tantrum, for your character. No matter which way you you do it, only 1 badge is offered in the reward table if you wish to take it. So you would need to do the event 3 times to get both emotes and the badge. -
Quote:I didn't misunderstand you at all. I knew EXACTLY what you were talking about and I was simply clarifying what you were referring to.That's what I was trying to say. But in a more mis-understanding way.
Although, I've never use that vidotmaps program before. I usually look up exploration badges at http://www.badge-hunter.com/index.php?/page/maps.php
and if I'm having trouble there because the in-game location on my map is wrong (that little green arrow), then I just check the paragon wiki. The wiki usually has decent descriptions on where the badge is in the zone, like on a building or so far in distance from a map marker, etc., as well as screen shots. -
This issue was reported here on the forums over a month ago actually.
