I love that freenamed term. So catchy. I did it the other day after a friend tipped me off to how it could be done.

To the OP, it is surprisingly effective to list your powersets in your comment box to avoid anyone from attempting to add your buff/debuff AT to their team when they are looking for a healer. If the devs ever added an entire AT that had no value beyond "healing", it wouldn't solve any problem, it would just compound the issue

I, for one, am tired of everyone on the boards constantly ragging down the population of freedom as being the worst server in the game. Sure, there are a lot of bad players there, but I am more than sure there are some everywhere. There are still lots of competent and skilled players there to offset the negative ones.
  2. If you want a thematic pairing, EM is the most obvious match for EA. I still don't see many SR brutes around, so if you want to roll something uncommon, this might be a good route.
  3. Welcome to the game and forums. This seems to be a particularly hot topic recently. Check out this thread for a nearly identical discussion:

  4. I would roll a gravity control/kinetic controller if I were going for a Dr. Strange build.
  5. I won't comment on your particular build, but I will say the only brute that I have ever built and regretted is EM/SR.
  6. Toss me in the taunt is optional category. I find it fun on some toons, and I might take it if there is nothing else that interests me.
  7. Silly me... I thought this announcement was going to contain some actual information. News coming soon! Seems like I have heard that before.

Gratz on the promotions and what not.

Cold and kin are the two most useful for it IMO. Any brute will love you for it.
  9. Typically, I put Hasten on auto fire. On my ss/sd, I chose to put Rage on auto. I think this depends largely on playstyle and value. I keep rage on tray two, and hidden out of sight. I keep both hasten and active defense on tray one where I can see them. Honestly, after reading a few of these responses, I might putting AD on auto and hitting Rage manually.

    Public Apology

I have to agree that posts that are largely non-intelligible are not effective in any way. Instead of reading the post and responding to what is being discussed, I normally end up agonizing over all of the errors and not getting anywhere. Perhaps it is the journalist in me, but I am always in proofreading mode. It is pretty clear that the OP just doesn't give a damn about trying to communicate effectively with other forum goers.

I give kudos to the OP for making amends with some people, but please use a space after commas and pay attention to the little red line that appears under words you are typing when constructing a post. (That tells you that the word is likely incorrectly spelled.) If you are not going to give a damn about the way you write your posts, you can't expect others to give a damn about reading them.

I understood that the first time it was posted. I was just restating my opinion for DumpleBerry.

I stated my feelings about it on the first page. To recant, I was concerned about the boost being 5 percentage points added to the efficacy of any inspiration. Game breaking? No. A little more than what I think is equitable personally, yes.

Since then, it appears to be clear that the 5% boost is not 5 percentage points, but 5% of the actual value. That sits much better. I am not someone who thinks that Vet Rewards should be purchasable or that they are overpowered, but truthfully I had a knee jerk reaction to someone popping inspirations with a 5 percentage point boost at any time. I am glad that it isn't the case.

With a big blue, that isn't a big deal. With purple and orange inspirations, I see that being a bit different. 5% added defense is a considerable boost; even if it is just temporary.
  15. I have never been one to doubt the equity of veteran badges, but I am starting to when I see that whole 5% added efficacy business. I hope it isn't a 5% boost overall as that would be more than a little unbalanced. Please clarify this!

I see the problem. He took common sense and left is unslotted. Probably could have used Lady Grey: Chance for a Clue.

Dispari, my sides hurt. Thank you for the morning laugh.

    elec VS stone

If you are caught between Stone melee and Electric, I believe Elec would be the superior farmer.

I see what you did there... Reverse psychology ftw.

Thanks for the perspective. That makes much more sense. One other quandary: any ideas on the disparity between luminous aura and luminous blast on the primary/secondary powerset usage chart? One would think that because these two are locked that the number would be the same.
  21. My advice: don't allow your feathers to be ruffled so easily. Sure, we have some hardcore number crunchers running rampant on the boards. We also have people who enjoy roleplaying, basebuilding, making costumes and a number of other things. Find what you enjoy in the game and have fun doing it.

Interesting there- that shows a number of things I wouldn't have expected. Namely that Virtue is more populous than Freedom. I wonder how accurate that is.

    Weak to fire.

Defiance is far from worthless or pointless. I suppose you would rather just stand there and not be able to do anything while mezzed.

    Weak to fire.

As far as I understood, Fire is one of the least resisted types of damage you can dish out.
  25. I could have sworn I saw this same topic in the General discussion area...
