Having a resist shield is nice but PFF isn't always reliable so you'll want to grab Phase as well, which means you won't be able to fit Leadership unless you drop another power pool.
-
Wrong. It does affect player targets but it seems only some self-rezzes are affected.

No. Meleeing on a Blaster is a bad idea.

Using TF is like sticking a giant neon "Free AS" sign above your head.

We'll be on in a while, I guess, but the character copy tool not working has us pretty messed up at the moment.

Quote:Hm, whoops. Thought base rent was now solely based off of the amount of storage items. I'd take a "pre-pay rent" option though. You can pay more than 1800. According to ParagonWiki:
Storage Items: 100x18
Auto-Doc: 100
Robo-surgery: 100x20 (possibly higher if you can have more than one medlab)
Advanced and Expert worktables: 100x4
Robotic Fabricator: 100x6 (one for each workbench)
1st tier buff station: 100x2
2nd tier buff station: 200x2
3rd tier buff station: 300x2
That's 5700 prestige, possibly more for huge Secure plots or if my quick head math sucks. Of course nobody really needs all that stuff except for decoration, and it's still pretty trivial.
If I were given an option to toss 100k prestige at the registrar to put against my base rent so I wouldn't have to pay it every few weeks I would take it in a second. -
This is somewhat amusing, to me at least, because I said this was going to happen as soon as the first test run of the event finished up. Any recurring zone event that requires large numbers of coordinated people in a game that 1) is heavily instance-based, and 2) has a relatively small and spread-out population is only going to be popular for a short while before people forget about it - for example, I did a few during the Halloween event just to get the badges on my mains, and then spent the rest of the event ToT'ing. At least zombie and Rikti invasions don't require large amounts of people to work.

Y'know, I figured by staying clear of the Tanker forums I'd be able to avoid a dose of JB but here he is going into other sections and posting the same stupid stuff and then calling himself a martyr.
Also, lol @ Ultimo claiming the Defender inherent buff happened because Defenders were underpowered. It's kind of like claiming pre-buff Stalkers, Khelds, or Dominators were underpowered, or old Defiance was underpowered (hint: none of those were). Look at the Stalker, Kheld, Dom, Defiance, and now Vigilance changes and there is one thing in common: damage increase. Apparently, the key to making things appealing lately is MOAR DAMAGE - so I guess, in a sad sort of way, that any eventual solution to "fixing" Tankers (which don't need looking at as a whole, by the way), will be a damage buff of some sort, because apparently being unable to die in 99% of situations in this game isn't enough. -
I've done it on several Masterminds, it's as simple as keeping a leash on your pets and picking where you fight instead of wading in blindly.

Could just bring along a bunch of oranges or team with a Kin and solve the TP problem right away.

Base rent is miniscule, but that's actually a problem in a weird kind of way:
Previously, you might have a rather large amount of rent to pay, which made it worthwhile to actually run to the registrar to pay it. Now the most you'll ever pay for rent is 1800 prestige, which many smaller bases won't even come close to. For example, I've got a few bases with the smallest possible plot size which simply have one enhancement bin for storing IOs which I want to email to myself on a different server. Previously I wouldn't have to pay rent on that so I could access the base at any time, but now I've got to pay 100 prestige every month or I lose access until I pay (there's no power or control so I don't have to worry about that, at least). Having to zone multiple times to get to the registrar to pay such a piddly amount of prestige is simply annoying, especially when it takes me longer to get to the registrar and pay the rent than the time I'd've spent working in my base. It's got to the point where I've just created a few lowbies and parked them by the registrars in AP and PO so I don't have to zone-hop to pay rent.
To reiterate: I don't mind having to pay rent, I just wish there was a simpler and more efficient way to do it, especially when the rent amount is so small. It's kind of like receiving a fifty-cent bill for something in the mail but you have to write out a check and mail it back because the agency doesn't have any local offices. -
Quote:The biggest thing I've heard from those in favor of getting the prompt back is "I don't like getting randomly buffed," but the operative word there is buffed. With the exception of one, none of the fortune powers come with any debuff, and even then it's a tiny 3% tohit debuff, which is easily countered unless you didn't slot for acc or something silly. As for the people who say "I don't like drive-by buffs anyways, this is no different," well... I'll never understand that.I wouldn't joke about that.
There's a thread in the General forum of people complaining about it now celebrating the change back and with the other side of people regretting the change back.
Perhaps we need to move our market UI complaint to that forum instead of this ignored backwater seedy underbelly of a forum? -
I'd rather they put the time and effort into making the mechanics not suck before they started to add shinies (more people PvPd when there were no rewards and the mechanics were actually good than PvP now that there are rewards). However, that won't happen, so I've given up much hope of PvP having any worthwhile changes made.

I don't slot anything until 22 (as I tend to skip those levels entirely), when I kit out with level 25 IOs (since they offer roughly comparable performance to even-level SOs). I'll stick with those until 50, when I start working on my set IO build.

Holy **** soul touch is banned (again) already?

I don't think any of them are close enough where it would be a problem.

A while back someone posted a WS build that had perma-Eclipse and softcapped ranged defense, but it seems to have been eaten by the forum monster.

Quote:The new Posi TF used to be worth quite a bit more during the closed beta but it was lowered pretty near the end. I assume that once the devs have more data from lots of groups running it on live, they will adjust the numbers accordingly.Nah, just trollin' a bit. Though I do seriously wonder how high the merit rewards would have to be before everyone would go from "this TF stinks" to "This tf ROCKS!". The first half can't be more than 19 merits, otherwise people would just run that over and over without technically finishing the job. Dunno about the second half... can that be run over and over if you've done the first mission once? If so, i'd say 19 merits for that, too. I don't think either half should be worth a full reward roll, but maybe that's just my GM-like mindset.
Besides which fact is, even with smaller rewards now, redside players are still griping about the merit dispairity. Raising the rewards too high would only make the whargble louder /=.
I don't understand why so many redsiders complain about the lack of merit-earning opportunities there. Aside from the RSF (a paltry 25 merits, despite the fact that it's harder than the STF which rewards 37) most villain content is pretty in-line with hero content in terms of time:reward. There is less content, yes, but that's largely irrelevant because most people won't be running the same thing multiple times on a single character within 18 hours. I don't know about other players, but I'd rather do several pieces of content that add up to 120 merits than do a single Dr. Q for the same reward. -
There's this one guy whose name starts with "c" and ends with "on."
EDIT: Oh right, obligatory anti-modsmack emoticon: -
I'd PM Castle with this information to see what sort of response you can get.
