  1. The BS/WP could be okay, but the Dark/Dark probably isn't worth salvaging as a zone character.
  2. To the OP:

It's worth pointing out that the chaining effect in some of Electrical Control's powers is not new - Electric Melee has had a chain power for years. Power Siphon is very similar to Fury in that it's a stacking damage buff (though it's slightly different), so while it may be unique among sets the concept is certainly nothing new. I suppose in this case the winner goes to Swap Ammo by default, because there's no other way to change power effects on-the-fly (procs can sort of do this but they're unreliable and don't accomplish the same thing). It's too bad Swap Ammo is in a rather subpar powerset.
  3. Yes, but I'd be losing about 20 feet of range in the process, and every bit of range I lose is further I have to run to heal a spike... Sure having 1/2 second faster recharge might be nice but that doesn't do me any good if I can't get the heal off in the first place.

I never said there were not good arcs out there (I've played some, actually). The "you" was more generally aimed at the "NO ONE PLAYS MY ARCS BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL FARMING, STOP THIS PLEASE" people - because, hey, if your arc was good, people would run it.

Positron said that you could level from 1 to 50 in AE. No where did he say that you should be earning a greater reward in AE then you do in regular content. The argument is over and its dead. The devs messed up by releasing it in such an exploitable state. It may be a niche now, but it was always meant to be. AE wasn't designed to take over the game and put everyone in Atlas Park.
You'd think the way they advertised and hyped AE, that it would be more than a niche. However, a year later...
  5. Because the devs never changed the Controller version even though people were telling them during the entirety of closed beta that it was broken. Though I'm not sure what good two PFFs will do you.

There will probably be much ******** and moaning when the Controller version gets removed/changed.
  6. Absolutely nothing different than I'd do any other day.
  7. My test Mind/Emp has 1560 HP and 57.5% range bonus through sets (plus that range IO in HO and AP for a range of 146.4 feet before DR). As far as powers from the primary I have:

    * Mesmerize: 3 Apocs, 3 Glad Javs
    * Dominate: 3 Glad Nets, 3 Glad Javs
    * Total Domination: 5 Glad Nets
    * Terrify: 5 Glimpse of the Abyss

Building for HP and range with those (Glad Nets give 10% range 3-slotted which is huge) PvP sets and purples, and bit of HP and rech with the Glimpse of the Abyss set. 44 points KB protection (could be higher if I needed) and only 48.5% global rech but that's still enough to keep Fort on 3 people.
  8. Sort of like my repeated PvP bugfix requests go more or less unanswered other than a patch here-or-there to fix the really broken stuff, yet when I file one bug report for "/em alakazamreact doesn't work right in Dwarf form" or "there is a -jump debuff on Shadow Fall" they get fixed. Go figure.

Congratulations, you've proven that launch day of an expansion results in high activity. Let's see it stay like that for more than a few days, hm?

Interestingly, the only parts of I18/GR that interest me, at all, are part of I18 and not GR (alignment merit vendor, merged markets, cross-faction trading/mail, new CM animation - finally), so I don't particularly care whether GR does well or flops. This game's profits, and subscriptions by association, have been on a slow but steady decline for the last two years or so, and I don't think aiming a large new expansion at new players is the right thing to do for a game in retention mode. Time will tell if it was the right decision.

On the Mission Architect: it's now a niche, like RP or badging or PvP. Most people don't want to read your poorly-written stories unless they're getting decent reward to go along with it, as most people that play this game (hell, most MMOs) are just as concerned - if not moreso - with the loot as they are with the text in the boxes you click through.
  10. I'm seeing VFX on both hands. Still, <3 this change soooo much.
  11. Oh, and Clear Mind now uses the SB animation, so no more getting caught off-guard and not being able to heal during a spike because you were CMing someone.
  12. There's no functional difference in terms of Emp power selection/slotting zone vs arena (except you can get away with a cheaper build for zones). Max heal, rech, squeeze some range in (my Mind/Emp's heals are 5 Panaceas and a range, with another 40%ish range bonus).

    New Issue

Fire/Regin/Soul and never ever ever ever ever die.
  16. I sort of like Kinetic Melee, but the set's mediocre on Brutes. It's nice on Scrappers (gogo insta-recharging Power Siphon) and really nice on Stalkers, however.

  18. Energy Transfer. Bitter Ice Blast. Frozen Fists. Barrage. All of the powers in Dual Pistols. Tremor and Fault. Hurl/Hurl Boulder. Most of the Claws/Night Widow attacks.

I think it was less "experimenting" than it was "lol let's just copy-paste and randomly replace a few powers and hope no one notices that the pools don't make sense."
  20. Dark Armor is really, really bad in PvP.
  21. I would almost certainly say SS/Fire/Mu considering the upcoming changes to Fire:

    * Fiery Embrace will no longer be a damage buff, rather it will add an amount of fire damage to all attacks, which scales up with the amount of damage buff you have
    * Burn no longer causes fear, but the damage is mostly frontloaded and the remaining DoT is slower, which makes it more useful if you lack an AoE immobilize
    * Consume gains a small recovery buff per target, as well as resistance to endurance drain

Shield is losing one of the big reasons to use it as a farm set (i.e. Shield Charge is being lowered to a more reasonable level), and Elec is good if you're using a custom mission with energy-based mobs.
