    POWERS ARE AN EXPLOIT

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oh maybe you misunderstand. I dont think its an exploit at all. By all means keep using it. It doesnt give u any advantage, just make u look silly (in a zone).

    [/ QUOTE ]
I agree completely. Staying alive is silly, isn't it?

the "you use Hibernate!?" comment was cute, btw

[/ QUOTE ] Thank you. I have already made my stance clear on that subject: Hibernate is for (sarcasm on) winners with (sarcasm off) self-esteem issues. But lets not get into it again...

    I stopped reading there.

Missing person? Alien abduction? Zombie apocalypse?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Missing zombie abduction.
  6. The markets are still swimming in the supply Meows produced. Give it a few weeks - Steadfast res/def's are already on the rise redside (counted 20 million for the recipe at level 30 last night).

Sorry, but its wasnt - and really - still isn't, but I say its better.

    [/ QUOTE ]
And I say you're wrong. Since you've already demonstrated in various threads around here that you have no idea what you're talking about (the "you use Hibernate!?" comment was cute, btw), your opinion doesn't really carry much weight with the rest of us, does it?

    [ QUOTE ]
I understand that fans of the game got used to the way it was. And sure, thats the devs fault for taking to long to even look @ the pvp issues. Then there's that small percentage that maybe DID actually enjoy it, but bottom line: CoX PvP wasnt bringing in any subscriptions from other MMOs.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Let me know how the PvEers react when they implement the PvP travel suppression system in PvE. After all, it's stated that unsuppressed movement was a bug, and since movement powers work identically in PvE and PvP, it's only logical that it's a bug in PvE as well. Obviously the fast movement in PvE causes the game to be unbalanced and gives melee ATs a hard time, so they should implement this suppression in PvE as well. Lengthy mezzes from NPCs are unfair as well - we should make them all two seconds long, but remove status protection from melee ATs in PvE. Squishies aren't survivable enough. Let's give them base resistances in PvE as well. Oh, and external buffs aren't supposed to be giving their full benefit. Let's implement diminishing returns, because IO'd characters are trivializing the game and making it un-fun for everyone else.

Besides, where are the new subscriptions from other MMOs that these PvP changes brought in? Surely if they brought in more PvPers, adding the changes to PvE will bring in a ton of players from other MMOs, right? Oh wait, maybe that's not such a good idea.

    [ QUOTE ]
Do you really think that the reason for the small PvP minority is due to the fact that the majority hates PvP? Answer: No, they hate THIS PvP. It was bad.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Some people didn't like the lack of reward. Some people didn't like that they had to build their character differently. Some people didn't like the unpredictability. Some people didn't like that their Superman clone could die in half a second. Some people just didn't want to PvP. Some people might've even been turned off by the people they met while PvP'ing.

None of that's changed, except the rewards part. Giving PvP a completely different ruleset than the PvE game that they were trying to entice more players from was the exact opposite of what they should have done. Meanwhile, they've lost a large number of some of the best PvPers in the game, people who were terrible under the old rules have now started to get big heads, and people who whined about Stalkers and mez and "having to have teammates" under the old system have found something else to whine about.

Oh and lol at the guy who called it a "secret" of making money in this game.

    SR vs Shields

    <QR>

Shields has a self-damage-buff aura and passive +HP going for it, as well as moderate resistances to S/L and small resists to everything else (outside of the Tier 9). SR has generally higher defense values, much higher defense debuff resistance, +perception, and scaling resists to all (x3 if you take all the auto powers).

I don't like electric.. it is too static and too mutch lucky based.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you don't like Elec for thematic reasons, that's one thing - though be aware that PvP effectiveness and theme/concept should not be mixed as it often leads to frustration. Thunderstrike's chance for crit in Hide is 50% - which is way more than the 5% or 10% a Scrapper gets on their attacks. Even without the crit, TS can still hit for around 600 damage which is nothing to laugh at.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Spines or Em is better.

    [/ QUOTE ]
As of right now the only thing Spines has going for it is Impale, and EM has pretty much nothing - ET and TF have long animations and their damage is not great compared to TS.

    [ QUOTE ]
Anyway, i don't like willpower too! Yeah, u have more perception but hey: if u wanna fight u have to stay alive first. Regen is better.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you're going to try to "scrap it out" on a Stalker (which is your definition of "staying alive" - for most Stalkers "staying alive" involves hit-and-run tactics), Regen might be worthwhile. However, "scrapping it out" is nowhere near the most effective or safest way to play a Stalker and you will die often because of your low HP. You only have to stay alive long enough to AS and get one or two follow up attacks off, at any rate. WP brings +perception and an auto +HP power to the table, both of which are incredibly helpful.
  11. I'm guessing PSW will have its damage decreased or its recharge increased (I wouldn't be surprised if it were doubled). I don't expect anything to happen to DP, but an increase in damage across the board for the rest of the powers in the set would be in order - I'm looking at you, Psi Dart.
  12. God, I hope Corrs get Arch and TA. I want my Fire/TA, dammit!
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Does anyone else find this build a slow starter? I've got a DM/Shield scrapper who's a lot of fun, so I thought I'd give a /Shield brute a try. At level 20 I still feel extremely fragile. Damage output with Fury isn't bad, but I usually end up taking so much damage I can't keep going if I run out of inspirations.

I've played defense-based scrappers (2 Shield and 2 SR), so I know the early levels can be rough, but this brute is definitely one of the more frustrating chars I've played. I'm holding out until level 25 (SO's and a couple more powers) before judging him too harshly, but I haven't felt this frustrated with a new char in a long time.

Admittedly, part of the problem is probably that the first Brute I played is a SS/WP, which basically plays like God mode.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Shields in general is rough going before adding Tough/Weave and IOs into the mix. It doesn't help that the oft-faced enemies redside have nasty tricks up their sleeves (50 levels of Longbow gets old after a while).

Is it me or I can I just buy recipes cheap, craft them and repost the crafted items, and make TONS of cash?! I'm used to playing the market on Eve Online where you NEVER see opportunities this obvious. Usually if it looks too good to be true, you forgot to move a decimal. But I really think this looks to be the case here. Am I missing something or are consumers just really stupid in this game?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Bingo, you've just found one of the many secrets to wealth in this game. Only issue to be aware of is that profit margins are constantly changing due to various market forces (including competition) so it's rare that you can stick with crafting any one piece for a long period of time. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find a niche, though.
  15. I'm guessing it'll be sometime around July 17-19, because that's when I'll be on vacation, and I have an odd track record of missing DXP weekends thanks to various trips.
  16. Enemy will be placated as soon as the power the proc is slotted in hits them. I think the proc is bugged to always fire but that might be a PvP thing, not a PvE one.
  17. Health is undoubtedly the best place to stick this proc (or Fast Healing if you're a Regen or WP). However the lookup table it uses to determine the heal number is wonky compared to normal heals, so it always heals for a fixed number of HP, regardless of your AT's base HP (I believe it heals for 65HP at level 50).
  18. Pretty sure we were told "roughly the same as purples" in closed beta, which IIRC works out to 1 per 600 boss kills.
  19. Thunder Strike. It's arguably better than AS when it crits.

-Cold benumb is mildly intriguing, but does it do enough to warrant a spot on a 5 person team where Defense is meaningless and -resist is meaningless?

It does on paper at least. But then again, Thorny Assault is good on paper too...

in the arena, i force them into elude early on, spend 3 minutes running, come back and destroy them for the next 3 minutes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is true, unless the SR Scrapper is built correctly and running a 70 second or less Elude

    [/ QUOTE ]
70 seconds is way more than you'll need provided you land your attacks.

  24. I have a feeling it won't happen because they think it'll unbalance the new "everyone is roughly as survivable" rule (which is completely false, even with capped resists, but hey, their words not mine). Sad but true. Worth a shot, I suppose... but I wouldn't bet on it.

Why would I want to take a hero & make him into a villain when I already have villains or vice versa?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Hero Masterminds.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    lol

EDIT, to elaborate, because I feel like being nice.

    1. Hibernate's a death sentence in zones, on its own. If you have Hibernate, you need Phase as well.

    2. Suppression pretty much requires you to take Hibernate or Phase. They are promoting build variety with rules that shoehorn you into taking certain powers - sure sounds successful to me.

    3. People that couldn't PvP under the old rules because they didn't want to actually have to think while they were playing a game, absolutely adore the new PvP because now they can think and act like they're good without putting in any effort! Odds are they played damage ATs as well - I don't know anyone who played support under the old rules that even remotely thinks these changes were for the better.

    4. Hero Masterminds will get wrecked in zones.
