    Incarnate badge

    Hi Guys,

well I was one of the fortunate ones on Virtue last week, and so for the first time since starting to play I was in the right place at the right time.

But the daft thing is that I was actually running the second Kahn purely to get the badge for doing a support run!

When the TF completed I did utter a few "Golly Goshes" in anger at not getting the badge and started to send in a petition about non award when I saw my teamies whooping and hollering about the actual drop!

Quietly dropped out of the petition screen and crept off to polish the shiny

    Cheers

Just to clarify Father's excellent post, you are forced by the Dev's to make your first alt a Preatorian. This is to focus new players on the new content.

However you can then make a new alt at any time after that, even if your first is still lvl 1, and choose to make it a Hero or Villian straight away.

There is nothing wrong with the new content except that for now it ends at lvl 20, but after creating the first alt you could forget about it and immediately roll a new alt to use the content you are more familier with.

All the other comments about lvl 50's are very valid.

    Welcome back

    Equiping Alpha's

    Hi,

that confused me the other day as well. I had stopped in Oroborus to help a guy with his Trapdoor mish and after just flew across to one of the islands for a bit of peace and quiet and to craft and slot the alpha.

No way, with the same message as you got. Finally realised that my O portal power was suppressed (as it always is when inside the O zone) and that was what was causing the message. Left the zone and equipped as normal!

Weird not being able to deal with Incarnate stuff in the very zone where we go to kick it all off!

Spread the word if you see anybody else shouting for help in chat on this subject

    Cheers
  4. Hi,

well I have also had mixed success on the Trapdoor mish on a number of different AT's. Some just blew him away and others just would not touch him.

I made the decision to run each alt once to see what it could do, and then for the ones that were going to struggle to either drop the mish or shout for help.

I have shouted for help a few times and fortunately got it from other players in the same situation that had a complimentary alt and together we rocked him. That was a more satisfactory ending than dropping and of course kept my drop option for the next "2x AV/EB defeat" mish.

Hope you get sorted soon and if you are on Virtue and I see your shout you will get help

    Cheers

    Hi,
Just ran the STF and chose the Essence reward. I also got the Notice drop and the lump of merits. The last two are auto awarded as soon as you complete, regardless of what else you choose

  7. Hi Noxi,

I also usually run on Virtue and I also see very few CoP's being run during my play times.

However I did see and get on one just last week, the first since the initial wave after it released when I was fortunate to get my badges.

This was a well planned and well led attempt with experienced bosses and, from what I saw in chat, a majority of players who had run it before.

The teams were even rebalanced/matched before we started and every step was detailed in a "first" runner friendly manner.

The mood was really happy and full of expectation.

We started and took out the towers in about 8 mins.

We then hit the inside and looked at the Purple AV

Forty five minutes later this team of 24 players had played their little socks off, with very few deaths and a well thought out plan executed very slickly. However it became apparent very quickly that we were going to have major problems to overcome the AV's regen! The leaders could see this, but talked in chat and came up with alternative stratagies which were then put into operation by the team leaders.

The team members listened/understood/agreed to keep trying and then implimented those strategies.

We were just swatting aside the respawns and so getting back to the AV asap but it had always regened to full and we never saw the health bar dip below 90%. We dropped all the usual temps and used all temps such as Envenomed Dagger.

We persisted for about 40 mins till, with mutual frustration and anger (all of it directed at the Dev's who were the targets for such poor design and still no corrective action to a known problem), we disbanded.

One topic that kept coming up in chat was the horror that this might happen when the WST goes live and it is the CoP with recurring purple AV's.

I know that I felt cheated for nearly 2 hours effort and playtime with no reward! I know from chat, that so did a lot of the other guys.

And yes I am aware that "Folks" have defeated the purple AV but I was a member of a group of 24 players that could not. A group that was not a disorganised mish mash of Pled AE 50's et cetera, but a unit that spent 35 minutes wailing on one AV in a co-ordinated and thoughtful manner that could not even dent it!

So a long answer to perhaps a hint of an answer as to why we see so few CoP's run!

    Cheers

    Finished!

    Hi Snowie,

    Grats, thrice times Grats

Only 3 "Masters of" for me, but that ain't going to happen soon.

So what are you going to do with all your new found spare time!

    We need I19.5 - 20 - et cetera
  10. Hi,

and I have to ask and sorry for doing so, but have you checked your powers listings to see if the O portal power has been awarded but because your power trays were full just not placed in them. If it is just drag and drop it down and bingo!

And if it is not there then just ask for a portal drop, jump in and then climb the arch and get your own
  11. Hi,

welcome to the game and the forums

One thing to be aware of is that after you have created your first character and have started it in Preatoria, any new characters you create can be a Hero or Villian or Preatorian! You get that choice as you make a new one. Starting the first alt in the Preatoria zone is just the Dev's way of getting new players aware of the shiny new stuff released in Going Rogue!

I would suggest you could roll a new alt and choose the Hero type and after the tutorial (highly recommended and is a different one to the Pretorian tutorial) you choose to go to see Ms Liberty in Atlas.

You should be able to see a lot more new/low level players and be able to run in a team to do the sewers and other missions.

Maybe also do this on a different server, say like Freedom or Virtue which may have players on at the time you play.

Do not worry about making new alts as you can have a bunch on every server and do not be afraid to delete them and start again if you find you do not like the powers or type of alt you have made.

Welcome to the world of spandex

    WST badges?

    Hi Guys,

just read the 2nd Redname post in the Strike thread and he specifically says we will want to run the WST multiple times to get the new badges.

Any other info or stuff about these new badges?

Probably still under the non disclosure rules but thought I would ask

    Cheers
  13. Well things do change, I even heard that Texas is now no longer the largest state

    Wacky Americans
  14. Hi,

also "Helping Hand" and "Keeper of the Coral" badges for completing the 2 new I19 arcs (Roy Cooling on Blue and I forget on red) require you to be a Hero or Villain.

Thanks to Snow Globe for the following:

You can get those badges in two ways, as an ordinary contact if at the right level and by using the flashback system. However, if you do it the flashback way all Heroes/Villains on the team will get the completion badge, but if you do it teamed up as an ordinary level contact mission, only the mission holder will get the completion badge!

The other thing about the Roy Cooling arc is that if you get teamed up as a Rogue and run it at the proper level you will get the "Leave no one behind" badge (if you rescue them all in the time limit) but not the arc completion badge! I was a bit confused and miffed about this until Snowie explained what had happened.

I am now awaiting the imminent arrival of my last Redside day job badge so I can go back to full Hero and speed run this arc again just to get the completion badge!

    Cheers
  15. Hi,

I too was wondering about the practicals of implimenting all the new slots.

I was trying to imagine a row of "Menders" in Oro all with one slot, or one Mender with a bunch of slots, or some other way/locations of provision.

    Any thoughts?

Maybe when the next level tiers are released then the new TF's (Apex/Tinmage for now) will drop new incarnate salvage and so on? That would make sense of them not dropping stuff now before the tiers are open?

Anybody seen anything about the system workings yet?

    Cheers

Edit to clarify: By Slots I mean the Alpha and Justicar et cetera slots, and by tiers I mean Common/Uncommon et cetera.

    Hi,

    somebody has to say it........

Why do the words "Shards - Grind - Farm" (in any order) spring to mind on reading the the quote

I have everything crossed that when the higher tiers crafting criteria are revealed all those words will have been taken into account by the Dev's.

And given the Issue time scales, I will probably be dead by the time the last slot, top tier, stuff is finally released anyway, so guess I should not be sweating about it too much.

  17. Hi,

I think that what is wrong is that we can buy those specific Winter event badges!

I am not aware of the thinking behind the decision to let us do so, but feel that it was a devisive choice of implimentation opening up the very point about the other past awarded badges others here have posted about.

I am absolutely not in favour of the purchase of previous anniversary badges. Like that Lottery slogan says "You got to be in it to win it".

I missed them and so be it. Same as our Vet badges I am proud of the ones I have earned and waste no emotions on the ones that are not yet earned because I joined the party later than some.

On the other hand, I do think that the Glad badge should be divorced from the Anniversary system and awarded by some other achieved objective.

(Off topic, I feel the same way about having the 6 Respec badges tied to the award of the Respec and not for completion of the Trial, but that is another battle for another day)

Anniversary badges only for those subbed at the time (however they actually award them) and no retrospective purchase is my purely personal preference.

  18. Hi,

so winter extended for 4 weeks! The Dev's need to get out more, cause over here the stores are already full of Easter Eggs! (yes we still do the Valentine thing as well).

I was on Pinnacle a couple of hours ago and was the only player in the D and in the Chalet!

Not shouting doom, but just saying and wondering why the extension?

    Cheers
  19. Hi,

I also used Sharks for all the above reasons but also because all those Miners and especially if you hit a Miners Strike, were just wonderful low fruit for getting my daily three tips drops and then back again for the other two. No travel involved

  20. Hello everybody,

there is a thread in the Badge section about players now having all the day job badges and that got me to wondering.....

Is there any single day job power that stands out as being particularly good/useful/essential that you try and keep recharged?

Is there any that you avoid as much as possible?

Hates/Likes or are they all Meh...?

I usually avoid all day job locations on my new alts so as to maximise Patrol Bonus and help in levelling, but am sure I could park up my 50's to take advantage of the day job stuff.

Just trying to get a handle on which ones

    Cheers

Edit: I am including the day Job accolade benefits in this as well.
  21. "Practised Brawler" is just the bigger and as useless brother of that stupid and waste of a slot "Brawl"!

Seen in team chat to a lowbie newbie Claws/SR scrapper during a sewer run!

I did send a private tell to the scrappie explaining why this was not actually the case
  22. Hello Snow Globe,

many thanks for your swift and (as usual) really helpful response.

I have slotted this one into my "To do" box as soon as I get back to full Hero status

I hope your answer here will also help any others about to snag this badge.

    Thank you
  23. Hello everybody,

    happy 2011 to you all.

Story: Ran my main badger, a lvl 50 rogue Scrapper, through Roy Coolings arc teamed up with a lvl 20 hero Troller.
We did well and both got the "Left no one behind" badge.
We then carried on and competed the story arc.
The troller (mission and star holder), got the "Helping Hand" badge but my Scrapper did not.
We both got the inf/xp and merits for arc completion.

    Question:
Should I have been awarded this badge or not?
If not, is this one of those badges that are in the "Earned but not actually awarded till the alignment change is complete" catagory?
If not, are there any other badges that let you run the content but do not award the badge based specifically on your current alignment?

I was initially hacked off not to get the badge as I had levelled the troller up specifically to get Cooling as a contact and so act as an enabler for my Scrapper but have "gotten over it" as we frequently say

I think I felt more miffed that I could run this new content without any indication that the badge would not award from the game system or mission text or something. "Hero only" text at the mission contact stage perhaps?

I will speed run the arc when my scrapper has the last redside day job and is back as a hero and the world has not stopped so "hey ho" such is life!

I wondered if we had a listings of these "odd" badges requirements anywhere? Snow Globe's FAQ sticky thread might be a good repository?

    Cheers

I wont miss "needing" to log out in a certain spot. And i wont be pissed when i log back in to realize i just was in the wrong spot and i missed 5 days. That was frustating.

please NO MORE day jobs in future issues!!!!!
    Hi guys,

I also am into my last day job drudge and will be glad to get them finished.

As to why did I keep chasing them, well, "because they were there", but as badges collected I feel no particular achievement or satisfaction in having them. I don't feel as if I have won them or earned them in any gameplay sense.

I fully understand that one's feelings about such things are very personal and as such, mine are just that, mine.

One of the things I enjoy about the game is that we can all experience it in so many different ways and still get teamed up and have fun without those differences affecting our enjoyment Clever Dev's?

So I shall not mourn the passing of my Day Jobs collection duties, but wish all those still on the hunt the best of times in their ongoing badging

    Cheers
  25. Hello Fulmens,

on behalf of every member of "Armaggedon" I thank you for your lovely and generous gift which is being put to cracking use even as I pen this response

We are spreading the word as and when we can on Virtue, and are doing what we can to help in the real world as well.

Thanks and have a happy, healthy and fun 2011
