I have a Plant/Fire Dom who is my current favorite. I have taken stealth and combat jumping, and between the two I have 2 LoTG +RCHG and a KB res.
My problem is I want to get another LoTG but I have no more +Def mules.
Question: Can I put a LoTG in grant invis or invisibility from the stealth pool to good effect? I know they will go there (according to Mid's). However, will the effect only occure when I use the power, or is it just "on" once slotted?
My CJ and Stealth ones seem to just always be on whether the power is or not. -
Quote:I agree. Brute and Doms are most plentiful ATs I see Blue Red and Gold sides.I've seen the least number of Tankers and then followed by Defenders in the new zone.
I am surprised to see quite a few mew Stalkers but Stalker's problem is more about retention. How well does Stalker AT retain the player's interest?
I see tons Dominator by the way. And the most number is Brute for sure. Every zone I go, I see Brute. In fact, one I was in Brickstown and I saw more Brute than Hero AT. -
Don't forget farm haters, that if it weren't for people farming for the influence, there wouldn't be all that money in the market place for us all to make profits in.

Quote:Ah. See, I was talking about the best farmer. I didn't make my farm toons to play and enjoy so much as to mitigate the insane grind my "regular" toons would have to do to get IOs and purps. My problem with making a farm toon is that I can't just select a toon and like him off of how efficient he is. I'm not creative in my toons lol. I base them off superheroes I like.
And for like a fire character the only superheroes I can think of with fire power is human torch, pyro, and the firestarter movies.
so even though fire/kins, spine/fires are so effective at farming I just wouldn't really have the patient to level him up to 50 even if its only like a week or so.
I know this is pretty lame. I kinda asking for the best of both worlds.
But still. lol
If someone can name like a superhero that has fire powers then maybe that will intrigue me enough to finally make one and keep him. But for now I haven't had luck lol.
I like playing my farmers, but their purpose is to farm, not enjoy content. I usually just use them to feed money and drops to my others. -
Damage mostly. A tank is a survivor, but a brute kills so fast, thesmall loss in survival is moot.
I feel confident in saying a ss/fa brute is THE best farmer currenty in the game. My opinion.
Edit: also tanks are fa/ss, not ss/fa. -
Nothing beats an IO'd SS/Fire Brute, not my IO'd fire/kin..nothing! In my experience at least.
Fury+FE+red insp+FS+burn is the most devastating farmer I have ever played in this game. After a couple groups, the damage is insane.
Mine is recharge and accuracy specc'd with set bonuses and a (LoTG +recharge of course). I am amazed how fast the influence and drops pour in.
My Fire/Kin is an excellent farmer, but my brute does it faster, and much much safer. Jump in and smash/burn everything to the ground in seconds, plus excellent ST for the occasional boss. It's sick.
Why not just go for the best? A farm toon spends all its time soloing anyway, who cares its common? -
I'm farming with my SS/FA brute lately, so I go +4x8 on my demon farm with zero danger. Otherwise, +2x8. Solo I avoid PITA mobs.

Quote:You take your 50 reward merits to the hero base, Fort Trident, or the villain base, The Crucible. Fort Trident's entrance is in Atlas Park and The Crucible's entrance is in Cap Au Diable. You can find each on the maps.
In Fort Trident a hero sees the box on the floor next to BOTLER. In The Crucible villains see the Trashcan. No I am not kidding.
A hero or villain can exchange 50 reward merits and 20 million inf for 1 hero/villain merit per day.
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Villain_Alignment_MeritsQuote:Basically - 2 Alignment Merits gets you a recipe of your choice (as opposed to 100-250ish reward merits)
1 AMerit gets you a random 5 recipes. basically, all the random rolling you could do with 100 merits? convert the merits to AMerits, and the result is twice as many recipes. And you have a better chance of getting something that you can market to recoup the 40mil inf cost of conversion.
Also purchaseable are Purple and PvP recipes (8 and 25-35 AMerits respectively, I believe).
...and the wiki link. -
Ok, I get 50 merits for doing my hero alignment mission.
Who exactly do I go to see and turn them into 1 A merit?
I know it cost 20 million influence as well. Why should I do this?
I can only roll for random recipes with merits? I guess with 250 or so (which i'll never accumulate) I can straight up buy good ones, like LotG recharge, etc? Otherwise, I'm just rolling the dice and hoping to get lucky, is that correct?
With the A merits, I cant find any vendor who offers to convert regular merits. What does one measly A merit buy you?
Im confused on this, because by farming the AE, I can use AE tickets for random rolls too, which is what I am doing on my farm toon. I recently got the 50 merit reward though, and don't want to waste them.
Any clarification would be welcome. -
Thanks for the replies, unfortunately I got playing the game yesterday and didn't get back to the thread. I appreciate the offer of help. I'll set my permissions as suggested and try it that way.
-
Seems it's impossible as I get the "<character> is offline" message.
I started one to build a base for salvage racks and stuff, but now I cant invite my other guys.
Is there any way? I won't trust giving permissions to someone else, they'd have access to my base. -
I might as well ask this question in this thread..
Power Siphon says it can stack 5 times, but the recharge is so long I can't even get it stacked twice unless I am speed boosted, how are you supposed to be able to stack it 5 times?? Mega-purpled recharge IO'd character? -
I consider anything other than "pl0x" to be extremely rude and I'll quit the team!
I know you are saying please which is polite, but I have old person disease that makes me snap judgements on people for not spelling it as I prefer, therby meaning that you, not me is a cantankerous jerk!
Puh-leeze. -
I'm extremely happy with my 50 DB/WP stalker, I can seriously lay out the hurt in burst damage, plus stick around and scrap if need be for a short time.
I'm surprised Stalkers aren't FOTM to be honest, they are so fun to play. Depending on sets, you get all kinds of tools in the toolbox to get the job done. Very fun class. -
For some reason mine error every time I tried to install in the default directory c
rogram files (86) etc.
I had to put it in a folder on my desktop. -
I had the same issue. I was getting an error when the program was installing to. Finally, I changed the install folder to a desktop folder in stead of the default and it worked.
I had same error trying to DL the 64 bit Net 2.0, but turns out i didnt need it, or had it already, not sure. -
I was in game, logged out for 15 minutes or so, now I can't connect. I've quit then retried a few times, now it's on attempt #5..is there a fix?
-
Anyone know by any chance? I haven't seen a message on the boards.

Quote:Nope, very good guide in fact. Thanks for your help guys. I think i'll do a respec today.I wrote the guide so that I didn't have to keep saying the same thing over and over and over again. It is a heck of a lot easier to say, "read my guide," than to explain the nature of specral damage for the 15th time.
I can't help it if it is so darn popular. I'm not really all that bad . . .
Am I?
I have no idea how people get the billions needed to IO set their builds. Even farming solo with my fire/kin on a demon farm +2s I get maybe a million a run. -
Hi all, dusting off my old Ill/Rad, the build is quite old, can anyone post a good build with IOs etc for me to peruse?
I've been away some time, so I know my 38 ill/rad is way out of date. Perma PA if possible would be cool, but if anyone could provide their "best" build i'd appreciate it. -

I don't get it, click back and forth between CoV and CoH? Don't see the joke here.. -
I hated it, no fun for me, as I suspected. Possibly if it wasn't a slide show it might have been ok. Was real apprehensive going in. Ganked over and over by unseen enemies, hospital trips, and running back to the hotspot, but suddenly held..dead in seconds, almnost always I never had a chance to fight back. Since the toons are being wiped anyway, it wasn't so bad, But I am more anti-PvP than ever.
I really hope it can be avoided altogether after CoV launches, while still allowing me to have my PvE experience. -
"Pills tend to make the voice of god go away for a lot of these people. Unforently most don't get the pills."
Lol!
GW is a great game, imo. Saying its a rip-off is a moot point. After all, what game isn't a rip-off of a previous game? CoH may be super heroes, but its still mages/warriors/mesmers.
Long as they do it right, which GW has. -
The nerfs are due to PvP.
