Hm, good point there on the bump/doubles. My head explodes with the illogic of the two. You win.
A Ethernet cable isn't an option? Interesting. But it's your situation, and so I'll leave it, with the caveat of you can't eliminate/confirm the wireless is the issue without it.
re: programs... I don't advocate you dump them completely, I'm saying you test your system without them, and then add them back if it works, or doesn't. Point being that the simpler you make things, the more likely things will work.
In all diagnostics, you have to get down to the lowest common denominator.. mainly, power, keyboard, mouse, video, network for external connections, OS with as little running as possible. You then can add things until you find the broken bit.
IF, however, you do go down to the lowest common denominator, and it *still* doesn't work, then you have still accomplished something: The list of items that could be breaking things is much smaller than the kitchen sink of stuff you had before.
But, it is your machine. Your deal. You do as you see fit, of course, I can't and won't stop you. Just tryin' to help. Hope ya find it, and good luck! -
Crab backback, my right foot!
/well, somebody was probably going something similar anyway. -
So, are you going to apologize to the Rikti Invasion for your false accusation?

BILL!!!!! What's up man?

Earth Assault is a special case.
When Sunstorm first started, we gave him some training (read: shackled him to the desk and forced him to look at spreadsheets) and gave him a bunch of bugs to fix to learn the systems.
Fixing Bugs doesn't teach everything, though, so he put together Earth Assault as a set to experiment with and learn the ropes. Eventually, he got it into shape and it turned out to be quite a fun set. We wrote it up as a full proposal for the next round of proliferation, since all the work had already been done...and, here we are.

so... I say shackle him up again until he makes webslinging (or whatever you wanna call it... Spider Assault, then) and/or grappling hook type travel powers. i mean, if he can do that on the side...
/Sorry Sunstorm, but if it takes shackles and IVs, then that's what it takes. -
I'm kinda in the same boat of 'ok-ness' for the rewards... the map reveal will be kinda neat. But for this, one should get something special... like dual auras. Say, oh, I dunno... firey eyes and tendril bodies, for example, in different colors to boot. Bet that'd be really hard though, or something...
Seeing as I'm just about 1 year behind all that... doesn't really apply to me does it? But I'll work on it.

re: 63 Month - Honorable
Um... Cerise Dawn is *anything* but honorable... so... what's the villian equivalent on this? Dishonorable? Heinous? Cowardly? Well, of course, not that one, that's silly, villains are pretty uncowardly, just evil, or at least ill tempered.
The Enduring one for 66 is fine and dandy. Especially if you got your 50 Mind/Psi Dom there before the 'fren'ed the Doms. *points to self*
I'm kinda thinking the badges aren't for Heroes/Villains, but for self. Still, it's going to be kinda funny to have Cerise with the 'Honorable' tab underneath, when everyone in the Rogue Isle knows different.
/Kinda wondering what the 69 month reward will be...

If that's C, it's still a little hot, ya ask me, for a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Here's my processor:
Central Processor: [/b]Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Running Co* after about 10 minutes, here's the speed fan info:
GPU 66C (Riva Tuner)
CPU 52C (all rest SpeedFan)
CPU 50C
Core 0 57C
Core 1 56C
Now, granted, mine is a 1333 FSB and yours is a 1066FSB, which means an 8 vs 9 multiplier, but man... that still seems whacked out on the CPU temps. A 96C CPU temp is 205F, and that is *hot*. By comparison, my 52C is 125F.
Now, the core temps at -30? That's messed up... but if the others are right, then perhaps it's a rollover issue, and it's really 129c and 132C, respectively, in which case, how did it not catch fire? o.0
Anyone else think this is weird looking? Or is it just me? -
Well, at least it's a postive answer that way...

Maybe you should switch to an Ouija board?

In looking at the log, I see you have dual... something video. Whether that's GPUs or monitors or both...
Dual Monitors/Dual GPUs might be an issue to try to take out of the equation, if only for testing, if possible.
And your drivers aren't very new. 169.25s.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
According to this, if you check Geforce, 8 series, 8800GTS, Vista 32, they're up to 186 as WHQLs, although the 185s are supposed to be the right ones to run. Your drivers don't show up, and would be pre September 2008. Time to upgrade, methinks, that might do the trick. -
The connections issues sticky as well as the Read This link below might help ya.
Usually it's a routing issue, whether it's your firewall, router, modem, the ISP itself throttling you, a bad server along the way to the download server...
and of course, if everyone's doing it at the same time, that'll slow it down.
Not a whole lot you can do. Search for the words Ping Plotter and see if you can find the thread that shows the server IPs. Get Ping Plotter freeware and run it against the servers to see if one of the servers on the way is high pinging, an indication it's the issue.
Past that, Hijack This and CoH Helper is a good idea to post.
Oh, and by the way, Welcome to the Forums, and welcome to the game! -

Well, of course it's hazy, you shook it furiously. Tiny bubbles in that blue inky stuff now. Way to go, Texas.

Cybershadow, the 'Read This' link is probably the best bet, as well as the Connection issues (or whatever it's called) sticky at the top of the forum.
In most circumstance I've ever heard of, the issues that cause this are:
.Software firewall borkin' the works.
.ISP rules borkin' the works.
.Router borkin' the works.
.Some sorry server between you and the download server borkin' the works.
.Satellite connection issues borkin' the works (mainly because it's satellite)
.Dialup issues borkin' the works, although FatherXmas might help you with that.
There may be others, but thems are the majority. Go search for the words 'Ping Plotter' and find the IPs for the servers, and go pingplot the paths. You might find the answer that way.
Getting the Net Info Tool might also help ya.
Good luck!
EDIT: Oh, and by the way, your solution may differ from the OP's, so it's usually a good idea if you need to continue this to start your OWN thread, so we don't confuse the two. Thanks! -
Now, now, guys/gals... you know a mod's gonna come in and

The maintenance window is usually 1 hour from 8am CT. This would be why, most likely, not all the servers are up yet. The login server is one, then the other 12 for the US accounts are the others. If they're not *all* up, you have issues.
Wait until 10am, it'll work then, I bet. Not that you can wait, of course...
The why of the timing is that, believe it or not, the hour is both more convenient for working staff, and there's not as many on as, say, 7p CT. So it's a balancing act of a sorts. -
What GV said.
/Vista user, and NO issues whatsoever. Go figure. -
Yes, well, even an experienced user as myself finds the search function lame on this board. Ah well.
-
I'm assuming you have another thread with all the interesting info about your machine somewhere else here, so I'd think you'd want to go back to that one for continuity purposes... Otherwise, we'll have to ask you post up your CoHHelper and Hijack this logs again...
-
Sounds like it is a driver issue for sure. I'm not saying you didn't do this before, but here's how many video driver issues are solved:
Download the 185s again, just to be sure (in this case, this step changes depending on the version required.)
Download Driver Sweeper from Guru3D.
Deinstall the old drivers.
Reboot to safe mode
Run Driver Sweeper to kill all (and I mean *all*) video drivers. Not chipsets, not sound.
Reboot to normal mode. Allow system to figure itself out.
Install the appropriate drivers.
That method usually cleans out any extraneous flotsam that might be borkin' the works. Although I do admit, I have no idea if this would work at all in Win7, but it's worth the try if you've not done it. Installing drivers on top of drivers on top of drivers can really mess things up. -
No, I must admit, I've never seen you be defeated and stay standing either.
