Important Technical Issue DEVS PLEASE READ
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Maelstrom
If they "fix" that issue before many of the other problems we have going on.. I'll quit. lol j.k
and technically, it's NOT a technical issue. lol
lol, it's just the one word, thats all
Not that devs often read this section. I would suggest sending a PM (private message) to Niviene.
Also 1) alternate Earth and 2) while a Marine would refer to himself as retired or inactive it is obvious that the bio was written by a third party who doesn't know better, or care (remember mirror universe, goatee not required).

Heh. Nice reference.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

but no Marine would say Former,

I know the "once a Marine, always a Marine" saying... but that saying wouldn't mean much to a former Marine, especially if he denounces the Marines and jumped to the "enemies" side.
Now, hypothetically, if a Marine jumped to the enemies side and killed other Marines on his way out, the USMC would refer to him as a "retired Marine?" That's not dishonorably discharged... that's treason. I think in a case like this, "former Marine" would be better suited.
In this case:

That is until the one day he was captured and disavowed by the very government that he swore to uphold.

I would choose the word "former" over retired since the government basically said, "Him? We don't know him.. we don't care what you do to him." That would make me think they are trying to wipe all records of his military service, thereby stripping him of his Marine service and title.
The only person that would acknowledge his service in the USMC would be Maelstrom himself. And I assume he would be none too happy with the government and would spit on the name and those that did this to him.
pohsyb: so of all people you must be most excited about the veats
Arachnos Commander: actually, I am
pohsyb: I mean you kinda were one already anyways ^_^

Oh for God's sake. I served in the Marine Corps as an AAV crew chief (1833) and small wpns repairman for 8 years, and I could give a crap less what someone calls me. Former Marine, Ex-Marine, old jarhead, defender of our freedoms, that old cranky guy; none of it matters. Usually the people that repeat this old bit of fiction were never in the military and are attempting to gain some sort of celebrity-by-assocation, IMO. Either that or they have a stick up their a** that the First Sergeant needs to remove.

This is just a technical minor issue, a bit nit picky, but it needs to be fixed. For the "Going Rogue" page, Maelstrom is listed as being a "Former United States Marine" ...which is awesome, but no Marine would say Former,

Obviously, it wasn't WRITTEN by a Marine. Get over it.

I served in a different branch of the military, but I have heard some marines say that being called an ex-marine was disrespectful....that term is usually reserved for a marine who was dishonorably discharged.

Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
This is just a technical minor issue, a bit nit picky, but it needs to be fixed. For the "Going Rogue" page, Maelstrom is listed as being a "Former United States Marine" ...which is awesome, but no Marine would say Former, the phrase "Once a Marine Always a Marine" is in part about this. Even if someone was dishonorably discharged, it is still always Retired, or even Inactive, though Inactive implies a chance to be reactivated...so please, please change it to "Retired United States Marine". Thanks, and thanks for making him a Marine
