To whatever Ebil Marketeer was manipulating the Essence of the Furies this morning about 8:00 AM EST, I just want to say thanks. I cashed in about 3500 tickets and scored bigtime at 5.5 million apiece.

Oh boy, another farming thread. How wonderfully unique and original.

[ QUOTE ]
It's true. Anyone can be in any zone they want.
But I would think that people would like to congregate together with like minded people and away from those who disagree with or don't like farming.
Atlas is usually a very busy zone. It was before the architect buildings and Wentworths were added. There certain things that require you to go to Atlas, like paying rent and going to RV.
Other than "I'm already here, so you move" I don't see any other reason being presented why the farmers couldn't collectively agree to go to a less populated zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
The thing is though, it's not the farmers who are upset that anti-farming people are giving them crap. The farmers obviously don't mind sharing the zone with everyone else. You asked why the farmers couldn't go to a less populated zone. I'll play devil's advocate and ask the opposite. Why SHOULD the farmers leave AP (from their prospective)? They obviously don't have a problem with the status quo, so there's no reason to go elsewhere. -
[ QUOTE ]
So firespray your logic is that the legit players should move to a whole other zone and missout on story arcs and missions all because the farmers don't want to move zones? When essentially moving to galaxy would have 0 effect n farmers.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, my logic is that the majority of farmers have already done what the OP suggested and confined their efforts to a single zone. It's not their fault that you disagree with what zone they ended up in.
Moving to Galaxy City instead of Atlas would simply lead to a different group of players frustrated because the farmers were in "their" zone. It's a classic case of NIMBY syndrome.
The farmers have as much right to be in Atlas as anyone else does. Anyone who doesn't like the fact that the farmers are there should go to another zone and stop trying to foist their problems off on someone else. -
Okay, in that case, let me pose a second question.
Should custom MA critters give more xp/tickets if their difficulty is set higher? The idea seems to fit in well with the dev's idea of risk vs. reward. More powers to use means more risk to the player, so a larger reward seems logical. -
Just judging by what I've seen on freedom, I'd guess that 80% or more of the AE farming that goes on is done from atlas park. So it seems to me like the majority of farmers ALREADY limit their activities to 1 particular zone. Personally, if the non-farmers have a problem with the farming going on in AP, why don't they go to galaxy, rather than asking the farmers to move?
-
My question is pretty simple. Do custom critters give more xp on higher difficulty levels? For example, does a custom minion with both primary and secondary set to extreme give more xp than a custom minion with both primary and secondary set to standard or hard?

Haven't tried her on Malta yet, though
[/ QUOTE ]
My softcapped fire/SR tears through malta like everything else in the game. I doubt they'll be that much of a challenge. -

I still click the powers too! Nothing wrong with that.
[/ QUOTE ]
I still do this too, nothing wrong with it. -
This is either a masterful troll post, in which case, kudos to the OP, or it's the one of the worst serious suggestions I've ever heard, and the OP should be made to go stand in the corner with a dunce cap on for the rest of the day.
-
/unsigned. This is one of the most terrible ideas I've ever heard.
-
They never caused much of a problem on any raid I was on.
-
I'm not sure why it's happening, but I've noticed lots of people just quitting with no notice too lately. I always make sure to tell people before we start what level it's capped at and how long I expect it to take. And yet people still quit due to not getting xp or it taking too long. Just don't get it.

I had a similar experience on a citadel last weekend. We started with a pretty decent team. My level 26 emp/rad and my wife's level 26 fire/ice blaster, plus another level 50 arch/mm blaster, a level 30 spines/dark scrapper, a level 29 tank, and a level 40-something grav/TA controller. Before we even start the first mission, the tank just up and quit, no explanation or anything. Literally, he quit between the time we started the tf and the time it took us to get to the first mission in IP. We kept going, and our spines/dark scrapper was doing a great job tanking for us. Things were still going pretty smooth at that point. Then, about halfway through the tf, we lost our scrapper, not sure what happened. We decided to keep going, and were actually doing okay. I was kind of worried about the AV at the end, but it turned out I was worried for no reason. I kept fortitude on both blasters, had both RAs going, and kept the heals up, and we powered through the AV in no time. Finished the whole thing in 2:01. We were quite proud of ourselves.

Quite honestly, I think the LRSF is easier than the STF. I've attempted the LRSF 3 times and completed it twice, all 3 were with pickup groups. I've tried the STF 7 times and only completed it twice, also with pickup groups.

I'd like to be able to make large sized custom critters as well. So /signed for that part.
I don't really care one way or the other on the special auras though. -
Smurphy (global name @smurphy, same forum name) does money transfers and is very trustworthy. As far as I know he's still doing it, I used his services a month or so ago. He even does cross-server and side-switching transfers (although he charges a fee for those).
-
Brutes and scrappers are very similar when it comes to soloing AVs. Either one can do it pretty easily.
-
Yeah, the random rolls really are random. I once rolled about 600 merits worth of rare rolls (30 of them) and the total value of everything I got was only about 50 million.
Saturday, I rolled 2 rare rolls on my level 28 blaster and got a miracle +recovery and a numina unique.
Random roll is random. -
There are so many kinds of vampires and ways in which vampires are portrayed, in print and on film, that there are tons of combos you could put together to be "vampiric".
-
As long as you can get rid of them if you don't feel like having them hanging around you at the moment, then yes, I'm all for this.
-
I too have made this suggestion. Some of the voices/footsteps just sound wrong for my characters. I'd love to see it changed.
-
I think this is just one of the things that's going to break immersion no matter what you do. It might confuse people if high-level critters conned a different color redside than blueside as well. Also keep in mind that AVs/heroes don't automatically con purple.
-
Definitely give it a shot. I'm personally not a fan of fire/dev myself, but lots of people swear by it.
-
The only argument I can think of against this is that depending on how hard/easy the custom sounds/UI are to create and use, there might not be very many people who take advantage of it. So it could end up being a lot of work for something that only a few people would use.
It does sound like a cool idea though.
