YOU GRIND MONKEY, AND YOU LIKE IT!!!!!!!

It took me probably 20-25 runs or so to get all my slots unlocked, and I pretty much had all the stuff necessary to slot up to T3 in each of them by the time all 4 were unlocked.
  2. Well, I just got my other T3 reactive interface (the 75% chance of DoT and no -res) and to my great surprise, I was considerably slower soloing a pylon this time around (took nearly a minute longer). Suddenly the -res isn't looking nearly as bad. I plan to do some more testing, since there might have been random factors that affected it, but initially it's looking like for single tough targets the -res might be better than the DoT.

Seems to be that way. I checked it on a pylon and it showed up as a 2.5% debuff, and again later on a CoT boss with no resistances and it also showed up as a 2.5% debuff.

Edit: I just checked again, and it looks like the debuff IS resisted by resistance. I was looking at the numbers wrong earlier. In the power analyzer, the debuff still shows at 2.5% even if it's being resisted, but the actual resistance numbers for a pylon only go down by 2% for each application.

    That makes it even crappier.

Not sure, what kind of unintended effects are you thinking of?

And if you can think of a better way to check whether it's flagged resistable or not, let me know and I'll give it a try.
  5. Well, I decided to do a bit of testing on this this morning. I made myself a power analyzer and went to check the debuff numbers. My fire/sr scrapper is currently slotted with the reactive partial core conversion (50% chance for resistance debuff and 25% chance for DoT).

The good news: The resistance debuff is unresistable. I checked on a rikti pylon, a variety of bosses and LTs, some with fire resistance and some without, and one of the DE monsters on monster island. None resisted the debuff.

The bad news: The resistance debuff is only 2.5% and has a fairly short duration. While soloing a pylon I was able to consistently keep 2-3 copies of the debuff stacked on it. That's running a gapless attack chain, with an attack firing off on average about every 2 seconds. So with a 50% chance to fire, that comes out to around a 10 second duration.

I also soloed a pylon and recorded my time (6 minutes 3 seconds). I'm currently working on getting my T4 interface, and once I get my second rare, which will be reactive total radial) I'll be able to compare the time with that one to the time with the partial core. I expect the total radial to be much higher.
  6. I went clockwork for mine. I'm at T3 and have the invulnerable support pet. Mainly for its good heal. I also hope that they eventually change the defense powers so that they give positional defense in addition to typed, since the higher to-hit of incarnate mobs will make the extra 7.5 percent useful on my softcapped scrapper.
  7. I like the idea of fixing stuff that needs to be fixed, but the problem is that fixing it would be WAY more work than could be completed in a single issue. I would like to see them devoting at least half of each issue to fixing old content until it's all done though.

    Empyrean Merits

What are the rules for when these things drop? They seem kind of random. I had heard someone say you could only get 2 a day, but I've gotten at least 3 within 2 or so hours of playtime, so that must not be true (or it was bugged).

    Anyone have more info?
  9. I frequently form teams, and will sometimes send tells to people asking if they'd like to join. When I'm doing this, I usually just type it once, then copy/paste to each additional person since it's just a generic invite like "want to join level 45 mission team?".

On rare occasions, I'll forget to hit copy before pasting, and send someone whatever random thing I had copied last. Usually it's just random, but harmless, junk.

A week or so ago though, the text that I accidentally pasted and sent was part of a fairly steamy e-mail I had been sending my wife earlier that night. Oops!
  10. I'm not sure how much it will help the discussion, but I've noticed some odd things myself on these. I've done about a dozen successful runs each of Lambda and BAF, all on my fire/sr scrapper. My level of participation has been pretty steady on all of these. I do as much damage as I'm able to (I should note that until I unlocked my judgement slot, fire sword circle was my only AoE), and use my incarnate powers when they're up. And after I got the hang of them, I don't really die too much (maybe once per mission or thereabouts). I also have a pretty stable internet connection (only one disconnect in all of those trials).

I've gotten mostly uncommons and commons, probably split about 60/40. I've gotten 3 rares, every single one of which came on a BAF, and have yet to see the very rare table. I do find it odd that all of my rares came on the BAF, when it seems like the lambda sector is more suited to my character. Killing the turrets, the security guard, fighting marauder, and the mad dash through the tunnels to blow up the glowies are all situations where my high survivability and single-target damage allows me to excel. And yet I get crappier rewards consistently when I run that than the BAF.
  11. I've noticed this issue several times as well. I'm using a wired laser mouse, so it's definitely just a wireless issue. And there's nothing in the way of the optical sensor either, I've checked several times.

One thing I've noticed that helps a little bit is to raise the camera angle some. The problem seems worse when the camera is more parallel to the ground.

Yeah, I got to the point where I would go deal with the ambushes in the BAF regardless of who the league leader told to do it just so I could get more iXP and unlock my slots faster.
  13. Definitely agree that this needs implemented for reasons that have already been stated several times.
  14. I'm trying to decide what the best interface power is for AV soloing. I'm assuming it's reactive? But is it better to get the higher chance of DoT or the higher chance of -RES. Thoughts?

    Lore question

I just got my Lore slot unlocked today and slotted the T3 clockwork pet. I noticed that the field projector power that the mender essence uses only gives typed defense, not positional. As a /SR scrapper, positional isn't too helpful to me. Anyone know if this is WAI or bugged?
  16. I'm also convinced the drop tables are completely random. I've run over a dozen Lambdas and BAFs on my fire/SR scrapper and have been an active participant every single time. I've killed lots of things and done plenty of damage to the AVs, and with the exception of a single rare drop, I've had nothing but commons and uncommons. So add me to the 'random drops are random' crowd.

If it's truly all, then the power explanation is bugged, since it shows only typed defense and not positional.

    I wouldn't exactly call a few hours a day casual. That's playing a lot.

Therefore the common has a greater value overall. Something to think about...
One thing to keep in mind though is that to make a rare, you need one of each uncommon, so they have value for that too.

Or at least that's how I think it works. I'm AFK and can't check at the moment.

No, I already had the alpha slot unlocked and the T4 slotted in it.

  22. During a BAF today, I got a shard drop. I don't remember the circumstances, but I know I got one. Is this WAI, or should I /bug it if it happens again? I thought they were only supposed to drop threads, but I'm not 100% sure.
  23. The new trials are definitely hard on defense-based toons. Normal groups are (semi)-manageable, but big nasty groups like marauder's giant ball of IDF make my softcapped /SR scrapper pretty much useless, which isn't fun at all. I get that the devs are trying to make things tougher on defense-based characters, since it seems like everyone and their brother is softcapped these days, but they need to remember that there are some powersets that don't bring much except defense to the table.

I should have been more specific. I'm not talking so much about strictly content, but development resources. When you look at development resources as a whole, much more than 50% is dedicated to things related to the incarnate system (new incarnate powers, incarnate trials, the queuing and league systems to make incarnate trials easier to run) than pre-50 content.

Have you considered that you, and others that present this argument, may have missed this one? That perhaps you're (for some reason) treating the incarnate powers differently than you treated general leveling and enhancements?
The major difference with the incarnate system is that it's not as voluntary as those were.

When the level cap changed from 40 to 50, the devs didn't spend several issues making only level 40-50 content.

When the Invention system came out, the devs didn't spend several issues making content that could only be played by people who had purples slotted.

With the incarnate system, the devs ARE going to spend the next several issues making (mostly) content that you have to have incarnate abilities to participate in. Or at least that's the impression we've been given.
