  1. Don't SO's expire every 3 levels? Not 5 as was mentioned by the OP. In that case, i dont think anyone would go 2 levels with red slots, so you may wanna alter the original figures a tad.

My habit being to sell every non orange piece of salvage I find for 1 single INF regardless of selling price and time of the day/week (I just save the oranges till aforementioned IOing time or I find one worth more pretty pennies than I can turn my head at).

So is my market habits a bad thing to the greater good of the Market or does it not matter in the least?

A sincere question to all of the Economic geniuses found here. I would like to know if what I've been doing to make things easier on myself is/has in some way potentially made something worse for someone else.

To those who think "I'm doing it wrong because I could making SOOOO MUCH more" or some such. Please don't reply in thread, I've never tried to max it out and don't care to ... I've only tried to alleviate my preIOing INF needs, nothing more.

    Thanks in advance!
I dump all my salvage for 222 and make millions....
  3. Or people are buying and deleting just for their own amusement, like they do with other stuff including purples. It's ever on-going and pointless to me.

I see this must come often since the topic has its own "Random is random" quip standard reply, hehe.
I'd love to get an invite and see a +4 run go as fast as a +0 run. Especially if it has bosses. Accuracy seem to be one of the biggest issues i've seen as the levels are raised. Even on IO'd builds.

The only time ive ran +3 or +4s and went semi fast is when my sonic/fire is on follow, other than that, +0s go a whole lot faster. In my experience anyways.
  5. Does anyone elses DL after EVERY logout? My wifes dont, but every time i log out it starts to DL the patch.
  6. LOL. That's too funny. Sry, just sayin. I'm sure they'll get it to ya, but funny never the less.
  7. Any of the big hitters are sure inf.

Any Basi, Lotg 7.5, Kin Com's (except acc/dam), are gonna net over 150mil.

I normally have a 95% chance to hit pretty much anything that isn't using a godmode power at those levels, and even things that aren't quite 95% (like Rikti drones) are close enough that 15% will make up the difference.
Well, when fighting mobs of +3x8, every little debuff helps.
  9. I liked looking at them, too. Not for PvP, but for damage dealt PvE. I was #3 once. I want to try to get the top spot once. lol.

It's 15% base. With a debuff set, it shows it goes to 25%. That's why i mentined it to help debuff.
  11. scrap all the way. i use an elec/sd scrap and soft capd is tuff as a tank.
  12. Well, i personally want to thank je, cause he's taking the beating that is usually aimed at me.... LOL. At least i only get yelled at in the market section.... hahaha.

Even still, 25% is pretty decent debuff isn't it? I'm guessing here since i don't actually have a Water Spout. lol. Debuff the boss so your Headsplitter will split that head all the way through the body. lol.
  14. Oh yea. Pardon my manners je. You said you had a headache and i forgot to offer you some ibuprofen. Sorry about that..
  15. Very interesting thread. Thanks for the info guys. I wasn't aware of the pulse and stacking with single target holds.

As far as playstyle, mine varies per toon. My fire/kin loves melee range. How else would my heal and end return hit me? My plant/fire Dom on the other hand is mostly ranged. Especially with rain of fire AND fireball. It's lovely. (hero epics)

Thanks je for your opinion. But it's not very accurate to determine how people play their toons. There's never a right or wrong on this game. I've seen a /rad pull a floor of mobs better than some tanks. Go figure... lol.
  16. With .83/sec endurance and only a mag 1 is it even worth getting? Why not up the mag to say 3 like more other sets. I don't see anything else with a mag of 1. Most minions are 1 shotted anyway. lol.

It looks like it does good debuff and good damage. Not sure which would be more efficient. It'll go to about -25% def and good damage. I'd prolly use it for debuffs it you have good damage already.

Farming has an impact, sure. It doesn't have an impact such that you, noble farmer, sustain the market on your broad shoulders and we should all be grateful to you as we play in the paddling pool of bad methods that don't match up to your fantastic sacrifice that somehow also yields the best returns.

    tl;dr, Oh yeah?
My bad. I misread how you worded that farming didn't make an impact on the market.

I didn't say if someone didn't do it how i did that they were wrong. Please quote where i did. BUT what i DID say is that, IMO, i disagree with how some people play with the markets items. Some take joy in f'n it all up. To me, that's retarded. BUT it is my opinion, and i'm allowed to have one. Have a great day.... *smirk*

However, each of those suppositions is of its own scale, and one should keep it in perspective.
Farming has a HUGE impact on the market. If everyone stopped farming and just sold what they got in normal missions, then you'd go forever before you could IO a toon. Because i think it's safe to say that there's just the same amount of people that farm that run normal content and are getting 10x more recipes and salvage than normal mission runners. To say that doesn't affect the market is nonsense.

But MA farming is vastly, VASTLY more efficient than traditional methods.

Ignoring the gaping logical flaw in what you said there, let's talk about how many people are actually in the markets.

At the most, and in the most populated "transit" zones, I rarely see more than a handful of characters in the markets, even at prime time. How many people are you seeing?
Yes, i did. The market people act like stuff doesn't exist or happen. There's normally a good handful of people in WW in Atlas and Talos. Also, in Cap. And that's just when i'm actually on or near those locales.

The real reason there's nothing in WW at any level other than 50 is the same reason that purples and salvage have continued to go up. Supply and demand is true, but the cause is AE. Nothing drops there. Purples ONLY drop in regular missions. Salvage ONLY drops in regualr missions. When people are in AE farming/pling, then no recipes and salvage are dropping. (other than level 50 or the max level that the 50s are getting) I know, because i do it alot, too. I get WAY more recipes that way than farming missions because the drop rate sucks, imo. I get more and more temp powers every time i run a farm and less normal recipes. I can kill 1000's of baddies and get a handful of normal recipes, not including purples. Do the same in AE, and get 1000's of recipes. But not purples and salvage. Therefore making the few purples that people actually get cost way too much.

Then add all the people that play with the market and not just use it. All the buying up all the salvage just to see if they can warp WW and the prices. And i'm sure it's being done with recipes, too. If people just bought what they wanted and sold what they didn't, it'd make WW much more enjoyable for most of the people.
  22. Too many people playing the markets and not the game, imo. Looking to flip, find niches or whatever they do to make a buck. Recipes don't drop if stuff isn't being killed. Go to any zone and youll see more people sitting in WW or the AE buildings than running missions.

I've found to get anything i want is to get a 2nd account, PL to 50 (where the recipes actually exist) and then IO toons.
  23. Oh yea. I didnt mess with that one much for fear of the mod smack. I remember reading about it. lol. I wasnt playing Purp My Toon back then. I was too broke. lol.

If you meant to say they've never gone back to the prices they had at introduction, then I agree. But then again, almost nothing has, not even the high-end Pool C/D stuff with its post AMerit price decrease.
I assume you are refering to Meow. Even at that point, i never seen or paid over 300-400 mil per recipe. Or more which they have been in the last month or so. I meant what i said. They have continued to go up in price, year on year for whatever the reason. I'm not sure what price you want to talk about? Not the 30 mil at intro. Not the 100mil after intro. Not the 200mil from a while back. Yea, they've spiked since i18, but they never (the good ones) have went back below 100mil since i've been playing "Purp My Toon". (sry for the pimp my ride joke)

Personally, i'd like to see a cap on them. I know that's not a cool thing to say in a forum where people loooove to make money, but if the drops are going to be limited, so then should be the inf to be made off of them. But that's me.
