  1. That would be great... what I was going for with the above build was a high defense set, and as much Regen as possible, so I see the draw of perma Energize. How do you suggest a person perma it, 3 slot with IO recharge do it?
  2. I am building a new scrapper aimed at baseline PVE, and might with an alternate build see some PvP play.

    the build is Spines/Electric Armor/Body Mastery. I am going with SS and SJ by level 50, and forgoing the god Tier defensive in leiu of slotting everything for uber defense without a I-Win button.

    The goal is to have a PBAOE/AOE god, on scrapper mechanics...

    Yes I think it is exactly that, but I can't find the file/source responsible. Someone said it was they're netnanny doing it in a diffrent post but I don't have any such file or program, or similar program. Anyone know what's causing this issue. So far myself, and two others I know of are having the issue.

  5. had the issue again. I click on the NC Soft launcher to launch the program from the background, it highlights then fades, no program launches.

    I can work around by uninstalling and deleting the remaining folders, (leaving City installed), and reinstalling the launcher, but this takes about 15 minutes. I can then leave the Launcher active at the bottom of my screen and it is fine. but if I have to restart, I have to reinstall.

    I have seen a pair of postings now of other people having similar problems, and this only seems to be happening since the downtime on the 1rst. What's going on?

    Having the same problem, I can uninstall the program and reinstall for a work around, but it is VERY frustrating to have to do every time.

  7. My launcher (the NC Soft Launcher) stopped working today. I had to uninstall it, and delete it's directory and former settings then re-install the whole shebang. I couldn't get the launcher to open at all prior to the install.

    Any ideas? I mean, it's fixed now, but what could have caused it to crap out?

  9. Under the hood mechanics, perhaps not, but clearly A LOT of concepts that were pioneered by COH are used in tgwwnnbn. Frankly I find the whole static costume exisitng in any other Superhero MMO at least needs a nod of recognition to CoH, cause otherwise we would all look the same at the end game, with the same gear and equipment attached, just like the 800 lb gorilla.

    I am saying that it was a slow suicide, meant to drop the game around the same time the MUO launched, and the MUO became tgwwnnbn, anyone who says differently is fooling themselves. The lost the rights to marvel and still launched a game in that time slot, with a different license, it's pretty clear they re-branded the work they had done.

    I am happy to see them fail at this point, and am at most merely pointing out that City is by no means emulating or copying them in any form or fashion, and that the former Devs that left to work on it acted inappropriately in sending out the PMs to the CoH community looking for people to jump ship.

    That's not a nitpick, that's Stone Cold Hard truthiness... the-game-that-shall-not-be-named's lead developer was Jack Emmeret, the gentleman person formerly known as Statesman on these boards.

    I still hold to the argument that Enhancement Diversification, was a veiled attempt to sabotage the game, so that a year later Cryptic could break away and use CoH Tech to launch they're own Superhero MMO.

    They used underhanded business practices and even tried recruiting from here on the boards via PMs, and That Game, failed ultimately. The other Superhero MMO is basically City of Sidekick... you get to go play a big bad sidekick to the bigger badder DC Universe mainstream heroes we all know, and in certain cases despise, so they can come save you from your ineptitude through Deus Ex Machina after Deus Ex Machina...

    Anyone who writes RPG material for tabletop will tell you DEM is a game killer, it breaks story, and takes the spotlight from the player... it is EVEN WORSE in a video game...

    Thankfully, City Of Heroes, has never EVER done a DEM to me. It has managed to please me at ever turn, and has for 7 years (twice the lifetime of That Game, and City of Sidekick combined), been my go to game.

    Thank you Devs, thank you Community, for making this the one game I have never tired of!

    I feel like a dweeb having to ask this, but what mission set is it that unlocks my ability to repsec at 20th level into Bane spider. I got to 20 via newspaper missions and now am stuck trying to catch up on these seemingly endless storyline missions just to get my backpack!

    Which Contact am I Looking for?

    I do not agree that the warshade being slightly tougher then a Fire^3 dom with slightly less damage, is a fair tradeoff, the Warshade get's a set of badguys specifically to take them out...

    PBers and WS's have a horribly bad power lag when you consider they were originally power balanced by the presence of Void Stalkers and Cysts. This current presence when they have been rebalanced against the other ATs, removes they're title as an "Epic" AT and makes them a sub par choice people will play only to get some of the more interesting story lines in the game, and even then the slog to get through some of it, is not worth it.

    TL;DR Either remove the Void Stalker presence in every Kheld mission or make them EPIC again

    I have played a Peacebringer, and a Warshade (both Triform) to 50, I have seen the highs and lows of this AT, and it has been an incredibly painful experience.

    WHAT!!!

    Why not?!

    Simply put no other AT in the game is directly punished for being played. I am speaking of the Voids. We have a specific flag in the game that is tagged on our teams spawning enemies gunning for us, to balance our apparent uberness but now that we are balanced with the rest of the ATs, well it is beyond under-performing, it is starting to be a joke.
    Kheldians have some of the coolest powers, and story in the game, but most players will never see it because the learning curve is so harsh... We cannot be balanced against VEATs until either they get constant debuffing enemies in they're missions, (which I DO NOT suggest), or we get buffed to the point that the Void Stalkers and cysts aren't a game breaker.
    Our inherent is a boost from the various members of our party, but it never seems to make a real difference. Please I am begging you I love my characters, I love the idea of the triform character, but it is a complete waste now for me to play them sadly.

    Please do a true revamp for the Khelds, and bring them in line with the power the constant ambushes by they're lethal enemies would demand. If we are going to be ambushed by things that can 1 or 2 shot us, then give us the power that would balance that.

    Ditto Velociteh, It is a matter of having the respect for the customer to let us know what is going on with our product we pay money for, ESPECIALLY during an event, with unplanned downtime...

I think that the amount of time it would take a community rep (whose job it is to give us the news) to let us know what the problem is, would definitely give us a lot of peace of mind in knowing it was a necessary pull. It doesn't even have to be a very descriptive description. I would settle for simple to understand basic descriptions of problems.

    Plus if they told us what the problem was now, after the server was down, there would no risk of us using an exploit they were patching or what-not is there..

    It just shows a lack of respect for the paying customer that the servers get brought down during the 2xp weekend with No Explanation. "Maintenance" is not an explanation. That happens every week during the early morning hours, not during prime play hours during an event! Add to it, that this is an even that has been rescheduled already due to Maintenance, and you get a fan base that is fairly upset, and I am not the only one. The whole team I was on is very upset. We were all actively cursing when the red-letter announcement came over the chat window.
    Please sate our desire for an event to be un-marred by reschedules and maintenance.

    Seriously Maintence downtime during the middle of Double XP weekend... after you ALREADY CANNED it once and rescheduled!

  21. When Epic Power Pools where Diversified over to villains, I cheered, I figured finally some loves for the villains. This is good right. Well there is a dispairity here that has been driven home hard by my Electricity blaster, and I want to vent a bit. My Blaster was created because I was impressed by the sheer power and wonderful animation of the Judgement Ion powers... I wanted to make a Blaster who used those powers all the way through, A true theme character.

    This character became an RP character, heroic and pure.

    You can understand my distress when I realized to keep him in his theme, and get Mu as his epic pool, I would have to become a true villain. Spending at least a week of my characters time on villain side working on this project, doing horrible things for horrible people just for personal gain.

    It's totally out of character for the character but the only way to attain those powers. Villains don't have to redeem themselves to get power mastery, so why do we have to come to they're side to enjoy power proliferation of the Epic power pools?

    This goes for all the Epics, they all suffer from the same lose of those four pool options when the villains get the hero options for free... Either give us a hero side equivalent set of missions to unlock the powers, or set them to unlock at the same time as the Epic Power Pool powers.

    He's the guardian of a young girl who is a constant target of the 5th Column because of her parent's status as heroes and her young age. Buxby himself is a sentient, animated teddy bear...

    I'm not saying it's "the last straw" or some silly bit like that. I'm saying it's annoying and frustrating. I'm military. Getting time off is like pulling teeth for me. Especially if they know I am not traveling, cause I usually end up on call during my time off if I don't leave town, or get drunk, and since I don't drink... ::sighs::

    So anyway, what I'm saying is that going from 72+ hrs of double xp cause I managed to get the time off, to less then 24, cause they "found a problem," without explaining what it is or telling us anything having to with it at all... yea it's quite disappointing.

    I think they could very well do a Double XP week as an apology without killing the game, easily. That would give everyone time to get in they're playtime regardless of when they have to work. It would work Cape Radio to the bone, sorry guys, but that would be one EPIC radio marathon

    Let us think on this idea, what's the downside?
