Having the same problem, I can uninstall the program and reinstall for a work around, but it is VERY frustrating to have to do every time.

What's the deal?

This is the only solution? (I've searched... it's the only one I've found) but this is ridiculous. I have to double-click the launcher, wait, open task bar when it doesn't come up (and it never does now), then end the process, and start over.

EVERY.

TIME.

It's a handy work around for a sporadic inconvenience, but where's a real solution?

NCSoft, I'm looking at you...

Do you have other windows open on the desktop at the time?

I see exactly the same behaviour -- start the launcher, the icon appears on the task bar then fades away. However, if I start minimising/moving windows, then I find the launcher NCAccess permission request hiding coyly behind one of them, and I can go from there. It started doing it a few weeks ago for me, and it drove me nuts before I figured out what was happening.

I'm doing this fresh from a clean boot, after waiting for everything to finish loading, machine idle, nothing else open/active (aside from normal background stuff, same as I've ALWAYS played it)

I never had this problem before I joined the VIP beta, and even after I uninstalled the beta stuff, it's still giving me trouble. I don't always get the permissions window, now, either, if I end the process, it just loads up beautifully. But WHY do I have to end the process?

I'm going to try setting it NOT to load automatically when windows starts, (which is how I've had it since day one, and no problems till NOW), and see if changing it helps.

Good news - setting mine NOT to auto start with windows seems to have fixed it - apparently it's something about the auto start that is causing my problem. If I start it MYSELF, it seems to work just fine.

Just throwing in a "me too", only noticed it this month. Killing the EXE process always works. I'll try Arameah's suggestion and see if that changes anything. I'll note, however, that I have to kill the EXE EVERY time I close out of the game, if I want to run the game again (it's not a one-time thing).

Mine did the same thing - wouldn't launch a second time - but that seems to be fixed as well, without the Autostart thing.

How do you do this? I'm having the same problem.

Eco.

EDIT: nevermind, I found it in the File->settings bit

For those wondering where the various settings in the NCSoft Launcher are, I'll post this here with a link to Hyperstrike's Guide: How to make the new NCSoft Launcher as unobtrusive as possible that is stickied in this forum section.

Many thanks to Hyerstrike and all of those that posted new information in that thread.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Used Arameah's suggestion (disabling the autostart) to no success. Try to run the Launcher again, and it freezes on load. CPU cycles are stuck around 13% the entire time, so it's trying to do SOMETHING.

I'm having the same problem, launcher loads ok but when I launch CoH it either has a stuck loading bar or the loading bar pops up, my monitor goes black then goes back to my desktop with no loading bar.

Graphic drivers are up to date.

Have followed the above advice but still can't load CoH!

Any ideas please?

No one ever found a solution to this? I have been having this problem for well over a month now and I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. I would rather not reinstall if I don't have to, but if it will fix it I might be willing to go through the effort.

What have you tried? You should not have to reinstall the game. Just right click on the game in the Launcher and select "Repair (Consistency Check)"

Tex,

I did this and it's still pulling the same stunt. I don't believe it's the game files that are the problem. As it is the launcher that locks up. When this happens the control interface for the launcher is empty in the middle. As in the application underneath of it is still visible. The border of the launcher is visible and the X to close it is as well. Though the X control is non-responsive. The only way to solve it is to go into task manager and kill the nclauncher.exe process and then start COH again.

Do you have the NCLauncher set to start with Windows?

If you do, turn it off.

Lately in Windows, there've been a rash of dependency issues where certain apps/services will try to start up but their dependency services aren't up yet and then lock while something is "screaming" for it.

Start the launcher up MANUALLY instead.

I think I do have it set to start with windows, but I don't see how that would have anything to do with it. The reason I say that is I can play the game, close it and try to relaunch it and the launcher locks up. I kill the process, launch the game again and it starts up as expected. I'll try changing the setting tonight and I'll follow up if the same symptom continues.

I also have this same issue.

I have noticed that if I walk away for about 20 minutes, the launcher will "eventually" load the game.

I am just, generally, not that patient.
