But change the old nukes to be better? AHAHAHAHA YEAH RIGHT."
t9's are not very good for most powersets. Granite and TA are the only 2 sets made by their T9.

blasters needs a lot of help that fixing the nukes won't solve.

I suspect you read my post, realized its brilliance, went back in time and made a post that appears earlier in the forum's time stream.

But all real fans know that I posted first.
  5. reminds me of this lame movie I saw. The villains had built this giant battle station. The heroes did not build their own to take it down in an epic fight of equals. Instead the heroes have spies steal the plans, then use tiny one man fighters to sneak past the battle stations defenses and exploit a weakness in the battle station to destroy it with a single missile.

it's about the most unheroic piece of garbage I've ever seen. It's old so you probably haven't seen it but sometimes it's on cable.
  6. Warriors need higher ranks in bits of armor - helms, breastplates - something shiny to make them stand out and have style

Vahz needs freakish cadavers - ones with 8 legs or 4 legs (or 8 arms that they walk on).

Skulls need guys who actually wield shovels

    Design a TF?

    players design arcs in AE
some are better than the dev created content

I really wish they would just take the best AE arcs and make them real arcs. I know they dev choice stuff - but most of the dev choice stuff is now terrible since it is out of date and/or broken. And people don't go into AE to see the dev choice stuff.
  8. but it felt like half that. I didn't feel the need to stealth to the end or that I was just grinding through.

From start to finish, Posi 1 is just a fun task force.

    I'm okay with that.

I bet 90% of the time it is fine. I would much rather they find & replace and have us report when it doesn't make sense then them just not make any change.

    time is a good powerset

illusion/time controller is not in any way a weak AT or powerset combo

I did not find First Ward to be too challenging. But that does not mean on an elec/ice blaster it isn't.
  12. I think the answer to this is simple

anyone who says they should be easy to beat should be given an AT and powerset combo, no vet power, no temp powers, SO's only, and inspirations allowed (the normal ones that drop).

they can play through with those requirements and then decide.

I am fine with learn2play as an argument. There is a minimum competence required to the game.

but get temp powers, use IO's, get vet powers, or play a different character are not learn2play, they are get more power.
  13. Lots of changes to the game in the past year. From F2P to incarnates, First Ward, etc.

With all of the changes to the game has how you play changed?

I still play basically the same way. The only big changes that affect me are ease of teaming - the auto-sidekick which made teaming easy years ago meant I could team most of the time.

New content, villain AT's on smurf side, new powersets, those flavor how I play but it is still log-in, find a team and play whatever they are playing.

This is the big thing I get out of teaming.

The enemy AI is okay, but the unpredictability of the powersets and actions of other players makes the game so much more dynamic.
  15. I have not done Night Ward yet as such. But I helped a person do a "final battle" his words when he requested assistance. On my fire/rad controller it was easy with his help and a knight.

I have done First Ward with a dp/rad corruptor. The whole thing was painful but doable. I don't recall bosses being particularly tough - the waves were tough because I could not kill them fast enough.
  16. I'm impressed by how well the low end blurs stuff and otherwise compensates so it doesn't just look horrible. It isn't great, but it isn't just flat surfaces with solid colors
  17. create 6 boss objectives, each one with an EB

they will spawn where boss objectives spawn.

There are only 3 locations - front, middle, back. So if you choose the right map you can make sure they spawn in 3 different areas.

i'm not sure what you by (all that ended up happening was spawns of six EBs all over the map)

  19. I don't play end game, but I like to team but need to be able to solo and require control. I play tankers, doms, and controllers generally.

Fire/Rad Controller - solos quickly even at lowish levels. Amazingly good on teams. One of the best builds available.

sonic/dark Corruptor (or dark/sonic Defender) - says Corruptor but plays like a blaster/controller/corruptor. Sonic debuffs enemy resistance - great solo and on teams. Sonic gives you a cone sleep you can use every fight (great soloing), a single target disoriet, and a pbaoe disorient. Dark gives you an aoe disorient, a cone fear you can use every fight, and a single target hold. Truly useful in any group doing anything.
  20. a player had the awesome suggestion that we be able to buy power animations that we could use for any powerset.

so you could fire a pistol and have the fire blast powerset come from it
or hold your hands to your head and have the fire blast originate from your brain

they tying of powersets to specific animations is certainly an issue for a lot of characters. Fire is particularly bad with attacks all over the place - fire sword, breath fire, fire from hands, etc.
  21. I have to say the worst was Positron.

At least half the time I started that, the team could not complete the first mission against the Vahz and broke up. It was the most painful death march ever.

But the new Positron's are fun and I am happy to do them.
  22. I'm actually playing a level 42 character instead of deleting and starting over. I have 3 accolades and am working on Portal Jockey. So I just soloed the Tina McIntyre arc.

It is not great content compared to SSA1 or really good AE arcs (see my sig), but it is actually pretty good. And it is fun to play through.

Now I rarely solo much, I prefer teams. But I remember when I started years ago I did the solo content. It was fun and it was what I considered the game to be (teaming was so much harder then).

I've tried getting back into the solo again but either I've done it a dozen times (Striga), I get sent to the KR hero corps agent, then the Hollows, then a security chief, then the PvP zone person, etc and I give up.

The other issue I have with it is that the introduction is not compelling.

"X works on cases involving the Warriors" is not something that makes me want to go talk to them. The contact introductions are like the dullest wikipedia entries ever.

Do you play a solo game in CoX (all or part time)? What part of it works for you, and what part drives you away?

That just sounds.... ouch. Sorry you had such a bad time of it. Time to take time and find out why.
I was 17 when we started, 21 when we finished. So my DO enhancements were almost worthless. I think just about everyone was around 20, although 2 I know were higher.

The others quit after the first defeat all missions - which had gone well but slowly.
  24. Synapse task force

    3 hours, 13 minutes

2 people quit during it. I would have but did not feel like I could do that to the others.

We had 1 support and the rest were single target melee. Even the stuff that went well took forever. The stuff that went badly was awful. They could drain all of our END before we could defeat them.

It is just an awful TF on the best days. This needs to be fixed.
