  1. Sad really. Not how a game company should be run if you ask me. Where's the optimism? The happiness?
  2. The way I see it, MA came out in I14, right? And CoH didn't die until slightly less than TEN ISSUES LATER! If MA was responsible, CoH would've been dead much sooner if you ask me.
  3. The only thing that killed CoH was NCSoft's loss of interest in the US/EU market. That or miscommunication about what the US/EU market wanted in an MMO.

    Don't give up.

Also, Winston Churchill has some appropriate words for this.

    Don't give up.

    Captain America speaks the truth.

    And so shall Aragorn!

  6. Accuse me of being modest if you must, but saving CoH, and if possible the Devs' jobs, would be reward enough for me.

I mean our heroes risk life and limb to save Paragon City, sometimes the world or even the entire multiverse from evil and rarely are really rewarded, so why couldn't we be the same?
  7. CoX is not shutting down because the community is shrinking. It's dying because NCSoft doesn't see a point to having a MMO that only the US and EU play.

The game was old and had a good run. Some people need a reality check that protesting like angry citizens will not accomplish anything. MMOs getting shut down now a days is just the nature of the beast and to be honest hearing about this game getting closed was not surprising in the least.
I wouldn't be surprised if the situation was that the game's population was steadly declining and the content was getting stale. But this is not that sort of situation. Yes, this game is old, but so is WoW and I haven't heard anything about Blizzard trashing them. This game has had no signs of declining and in fact has been THRIVING until NCSoft decided to kill it because it wasn't making 'enough' money for them.

Let me put it this way: which of these scenarios would make you more emotional.

A: Your grandfather, who lived a good long life, is SLOWLY dying of lung cancer.

B: Your spouse/BF/GF was SUDDENLY and brutally MURDERED simply because some punk WANTED him/her to DIE.

Currently, the CoH is experiencing scenario B.
  9. Yeah, strangely enough The Sims 3 will probably be my go-to game if CoH dies. It's fine... but not like CoH was...

WHY MUST THEY KILL GOOD GAMES AND LET BAD GAMES LIVE!?
  10. Yes, keep your anger under control. I know it's difficult to do this, (I'm surprised I have been able to thus far) but we are heroes (Most of us at least) not Vigilantes or Villains.

And no firebombing NCSoft HQ. Not sure how much that will help our cause.
  11. Actually, Shadow Ravenwolf posted this on Facebook a few days ago.

You also have been playing too much CoX when you write "Croatoa" instead of "Croatia" on your European geography test.

    And for the record:

If you think the Save CoX movement is stupid... you need MOAR COX!
  12. Yeah, people will have their opinions that this game (and quite possibly other games) suck. That's their opinion. They're only right if you agree with them.
  13. I will say this as it just seems appropriate:

Whether the Save CoX movement succeeds or fails, I am still proud to be/have been a member of this community. I just feel like these circumstances had united us more so than we ever have been before.

    VIVA LA RESISTANCE!

    Sceenshots

    Might as well post this.

Yes, it's from the old Outbreak tutorial.

Also, Easter Egg in Nova Praetoria?
  15. Agreed. Stupid greedy NCSoft!

I've been trying to find a game with as much narrative delivery mechanics as CoH, and failing. Bios, clues, speech bubbles, info panels, mission briefings, mission REbriefings...

    Eco.
This seems to be a problem in non-MMO games too. "Less story and lore, more PEW PEW PEW!"
  17. One thing is for sure. I am NOT soloing Hamidon. Contrary to popular belief, I am NOT that crazy!

  19. You are not my friend and I am not a witty heroic/villainous clever fantastic helpful player of the best game ever, twit.

    Wait.

I know. I have a perfect plan for those 174 people who think we should just let the game die.

    Standard NCSoft policy, apparently.
  22. Business. They saw that CoX was popular... too popular in their opinion. Perhaps that's because it was the only NCSoft game we knew about?
  23. What exactly WERE the tentacles that could be seen around the destroyed Ouroboros in Mender Ramiel's arc? Praetorian Hamidon or something else entirely?

Is there a lore explanation as to why Peacebringers/Warshades/Nictus don't exist in Praetoria? I know that there is a reason why VEAT's can't start in Praetoria (since Arachnos doesn't seem to exist.) But did Cole just have every Peacebringer/Warshade/Nictus killed or did the Kheldians never come to Earth in Praetorian Earth?
