    Screenshot Issue

ParagonWiki is currently down, when it comes back check for this:

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/screenshots

Short story: Vista/Windows7 sometimes screws up screenshots or saves them to weird subdirectories.

Go to Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > SnipIt

It's a smarter and better screenshotting tool.

Try finding her physically. It may be a bug that she got dumped from your contact list.

  4. A Passive Power is always on (if you're the right level and haven't exemplared below it). A Proc120 in a Passive Power will be always on if the Passive Power is on.

A Toggle Power turns on when you click it and stays on. A Proc120 in a Toggle Power will go on with the power is toggled on and will now immediately toggle off when the power is toggled off.

A Click Power goes off with one click and immediately starts to recharge. A Proc120 in a click power will go off and continue to work for 120 seconds after the click.

The Proc120 Special IOs are the Stealth IOs for travel powers; the +Recover and +Regen IOs from the Health IO Sets; and the +6% Acc (really, ToHit) from the Kismet Set.
  5. There isn't a card on the market in which you can turn everything to the highest setting and get over 20 fps.

Maybe... if sli/crossfire got fully implemented and you had two high end cards, it could happen.

UM was made for the next generation of graphics card. It went beyond what the current generation could do.

I have a better configuration than you can I can't put everything up.

So, my recommendation is: Shut off occlusion. Too little gain for so much fps cost.

Turn up FSAA one more notch and if there isn't a big fps hit, leave it there.

And you'll be good to go.
  6. Each has their pros and cons.

The Legacy zones are much larger and more diverse in environment, buildings, and enemy factions. That can be a negative to move around in, but, when you're a long time Vet with lot's of TP options... it's not a problem. Praetoria is better put together and prettier and has a bit of a modern design edge. However, at the high end of UM, the legacy zones look really good and can still be impressive.

Praetoria has better writing for almost all of its content, but, there still are shining moments in the legacy cities. The new arcs in the past year in the legacy zones are just as good and groundbreaking as in Praetoria (doppelgangers and story telling branching in I17, e.g.).

They are definitely not part of GR or I18.

They leaked out early from ' 'something else' ' coming down the pike.

Didn't War Witch say they'll be unifying all currencies into a singular INF currency?
The character ID page now says 'Inf.'

But it says Information/Influence/Infamy in other places depending on your alignment or zone.

On my two accounts I watched a trade of inf: On the hero's screen it said Influence and on the Praetorian's screen it said Information.

Ah, I see you met those who, in Closed Beta, sunk the Alpha Slot preview.

Since the preview, billed as a preview, didn't have new content, but instead gave us bonuses for the level 50 content already in the game, they screamed "DONT WANT!".

Since they learned that the Incarnate Slots weren't enabled when you exemplared to make them even more overpowered while exemplaring, they screamed "DONT WANT!".

Now that they learned (just now?) that GR doesn't have new level 50 content they are screaming "DONT WANT!" to Praetoria, and to the whole game in general.

The Devs buckled to them with regard to the Alpha Slot. Obviously, the Devs are not going to do the same with Praetoria, so, the current hold-my-breath outcries will get nowhere.

Keep an eye out for when the Incarnate Slots are actually introduced with new content, they'll still be screaming "DONT WANT!" because it will not be applied to exemplaring. Their non-constructive criticisms will need to be met with equal amounts of shouting them down lest they convince the Devs to do something stupid again.

Without having to worry about female models they supposedly were able to give us more types of enemies to fight in general.

Well it took 6+ years but it's good they finally got around to "fixing" this.
While I love what Posi did with the game (the move to 'give the players what they want'), the shift to War Witch (a woman who is lead designer) and Noble Savage (a Lead Artist who's background is comic books and not computer RPGs) changes the gender preconceptions -- for the better.

    Uh..nope.

There are areas of Pocket D where there is no TP suppression: The outer hallways; the Chalet; and the area immediately near the Base Portal.

Mission TP doesn't work to get a Legacy toon in Praetoria or a Praetorian into the Cities because it's disallowed in the code. (At one time in Beta that wasn't the case, but it is now.)

    Coded not to happen.

Hmmm... I'd like to see a movie based on the phenomenon, where people believe they catch colds by being physically cold. And movie based on the phenomenon, where people believe pushing the elevator button again makes it come faster. And a move based on the phenomenon, where people believe we've been visited by aliens. Oh wait...
  15. I like an open gateway to just walk through without clicking.

Vista tech will *not* be coming to the legacy zones.

Each and every zone would have to be remade, practically from scratch, for that to happen. Vista tech works by appending a lower-rez version of the neighboring zone to the active zone.

Right now, the legacy zones have generic very-low rez buildings beyond the war walls to simulate more city. So, all that would have to be changed and the zones would have to be pieced together (and they can't, they don't fit, the map presumes buffer spaces between zones).

They might as well make CoH2.
  16. They must be because there's only one question and there's no extra 'e'.

I use it to buy stuff. It's money. I don't spend information, I spend currency. (And I have a hard time believing Serge is so hard up for gossip that he'll trade "information" for fabulousness.)

What, don't you give your waitress a tip?
  20. Try this:

    1. Go to your CoH subdirectory and left click on CohUpdater.exe and chose Copy.

    2. Go to your desk top and left click on it and chose Paste. This will Copy the file to the desktop (and *not* create a shortcut).

    3. Double click on CohUpdater on your desktop to run it from there. If it prompts what directory to install CoH, point it to your CoH subdirectory.
  21. I think it was clear he was coming back to CoH, but, that it's been so long he might as well be a newb.

I felt frustrated that he kept applauding the RPG elements, while, at the same time, not getting that they're a main feature. E.g., when he said it was nice that the middle choice between hero and villains was 'Praetoria' and not 'grey.' Or fascinated by the moral choice at the end of the arc: Help the corrupt police distribute drugs or give it to the drug-using resistance. He like those things, and yet, it seemed that the most important thing was that GR be more like a FPS... huh? Where's the props for the role playing element?

I'm disappointed in his review of the costumes. It's true that the random button creates the most hideous costumes imaginable. If only he looked at the pre-made sets instead. In his review of All Points Bulletin, he gave them great reviews for their character creator (which is indeed awesome), but he didn't play with their randomizer and stop there like he did with CoH's randomizer.

Yes, the foes running so far away (to get a soda) and then forgetting we're right there is a valid criticism, yet, did you catch how he said 'runners' are common for MMO's? So, he was faulting how far they ran, not the fact that they ran.

He talks *fast*. I'm a New Yorker and he talks *fast*. I feel sorry for people who have English as a second language or Southerners listening to him.

The attempted suicide leaps were hysterical because I knew exactly what was going to happen.
