Abbreviations help? New to game

Hello all Im new to the game on the Freedom server/realm. I just wanted to know what all the abbreviations mean. I find some on my own but some I have no idea. For example: Psi/Em what does this mean, how would I go about this is it under Brute, Stalker, Mastermind, Dominatior, or corruptor?

Also I see things about Scrapper what is that I dont see the choice. I know Im the new noob now I just want to understand when people are talking its like a new language to me.

In the case of Psi/Em it's shorthand for primary/secondary powersets. I'm guessing Psychic Blast/Energy or Electrical Manipulation on a Blaster. The problem is today their is a lot more powerset combos than the early days so sometimes people forget that simple abbreviations of old are now ambiguous today.

Psi/Em is in reference to a character's powersets: Psionic/Empath would be my take on it. I think that's a controller combo...

In the specific example you use, the person is abbreviating the power sets they picked. In this case the only valid "psi/em" combo I can think of is a Psionic Blast/Energy Manipulation Blaster, but it's very common practice and you will find it easier as you familiarize yourself with different ATs and power sets.

Other useful abbrev's to know are "lft" which is "looking for team" and "pst" which is "please send a tell".

A scrapper is a type of ArchType (type of hero) that specialises in melee combat. They can use Martial Arts, Dark Energy Attacks, Fists of Fire and lots of other stuff. Defense wise they can have super reflexes to dodge attacks, or maybe the ability to Regenerate if you want.

Scrappers are generally considered the easiest to begin exploring the game with. I started with a blaster who died all the time and quickly moved on to a Fire Controller. (Blasters are well, they blast things from a distance for the most part. Controllers are good at locking baddies down in different ways so that they can not attack, have pets that attack for you, and as a secondary can allow teams to do more damage, make it tougher to be hit and much much more.)

There are also Tanks, and Defenders, a whole bunch of villian types as well.
Lots of variety to choose from.

I'll let someone else talk about those if they want to.
