Quote:I've suggested the same thing with the "missions" you get from Steel Canyon/Skyway City contacts to go meet the Hero Corps Field Analyst in Kings Row, and the ones that direct you to the PvP zones. And it's not just because by now I already know good and well where to find these things; it's because nobody else in the zone will give me a mission until I finish them.
OTOH, I was starting to get annoyed with Montague Castanella cluttering up my Contacts list, until I realized I needed to do his missions to get access to the Midnighter Club.
Sam Tow had a thread a LONg time back that i chimed in on regarding this subject. He, and I, felt the same way. Umm say listen Devs I have been here for 6 years now I think I have the hang of how to change my difficulty settings (visit the field rep in KR), Yes I have been to the AE building and not only played AE missions but designed them, YES I am aware we have numerous PvP zones (vist the Liason for Bloody Bay, Sorens Call, etc), My old favorite from back before ninja run and Raptor packs .. I am keenly aware that the Hollows exist now can you please stop sending me to talk to Dave Wincott and just give me a mission! ADDED: Almost forgot the new one ... Archmage Hellewise in First Ward. When she showed up, along with Belledonna, as a new contact on my 50 level I headed over assuming it was more missions that offered up threads and potential rewards. All I got was an elaborate tutorial on how to use the Shadowy Paths to get from First Ward to Night Ward. I know because i did the whole thing figuring there would be other missions IN NIGHT WARD afterwards.. Nope and now every character I own above level 29 has the same contact ... On Virtue alone I have 46 characters .. just how many times do I need to see that tutorial? and since her missions apply to levels 29-50 she will NEVER go inactive!
Yes there are exceptions.. I have no problem, as you mentioned, with Montaque arriving in the contact window... if I do his arc at 10 or at 35 at some point I WILL be there so I can get into Cimerora.
I don't mind the University contact.. on most of my characters I will take the time to run through that arc. Not so much for the Inventor badge but lets face it.. unless you are going to sit there and READ every word from every contact you can get through that introductory arc in maybe 5-10 minutes tops... and for your efforts you are awarded a free recipe and the salvage to craft it! I WILL ALWAYS take anything they give me for free LOL
The other thing to consider is .. Yeah the contacts automatically appear at a certain level but no one says you have to run the arcs EVER. -
In her never ending quest to improve game quality Wendy now submits...
Change the coding so that once a player has seen the cut scene from the BAF or keyes it will globally exempt them from triggering it again... Thisis not a new suggestion I have made it before but figured I'd add it again. Explanation .. A of last night I had yet another character hit level 50 and today I ran my first BAF trial in Dark Astoria. As usual because Doctor Tenebris was about to embark of his first ever BAf the entire league got to watch the 1 minute to ?? long cut scene with Mother Mayhem, Nightstar and Siege. Now anyone that knows me knows that the good doctor is the 27th character I have started down the incarnate path and I have been doing Incarnate trials since they first were introduced. At this point I think I can say with 100% certainty that I GET IT. I know why we are attacking and why we need to stop the escaping prisoners. Now the good Doctor is an individual with his own story as to how he bacame a puer hero but like the other 26 incarnates that came before him there is ONE person at the keyboard controlling them all. I have no problem sitting through the cutscene again when a brand new player gets their first ever 50 and starts the trials but frankly a lot of the rest of us are using that LONG cut scene to get a drink, take a quick bio, or ANYTHING that allows us not to have to watch it again.
This is not a request that can't be done.. There are numerous instances where they have coded things to apply globally.. Tier 9 armor, costumes and emotes bought with astral or emps, ect ect. So they can't claim its impossible to code. Just go in and create a code replacing Purchased at Emp vender with recieved BAF badge and then replace allow all characters access via email with exempt all characters from watching opening cutscenes after one viewing by any character. -
Quote:I really have no idea where the Statesman avatar originated nd it could be it was a creation of Jack's. I can't even recall exactly when Emmert left but if Statesman was HIS creation and they were paying royalties to continue to use it... You'd think they would have killed him off a long time ago. Why pay someone for the right to use a ficticious character when you can simply create a replacement? Of course do to Statesman's invlovement in several arcs (red and blue side) it wasn't as simple as just saying OH sorry he's dead now... But you'd assume they'd have done away with him faster.Sorry, triple post...
Wasn't Statesman Jack Emmert's character (and Sister Psyche)? That is, it was based off of a PnP character made by Jack then adapted to the game? No idea if he trademarked the character but this may be why they chose to end the characters' involvement so as to limit the use of intellectual properties belonging to those outside the company. They're already using Cryptic's game engine, no need to require royalties or intellectual acknowledgement when they've already drastically changed the game from that of his (Jack's) original creation not to mention him being apart of their competition.
Now oncerning your other post I understand what you are saying but keep in mind this is not the real world. You mention Overbrook (faultline) .. now the devs have already said that revamping an older zone, like they did with faultline, is harder and takes more time than creating a new one.. which is why we got Cimerora and a totally new Dark Astoria. IF they everdecide to complete the rebuilding of Overbrook I imagine that would be the same.. A complete removal of the old zone and a new one put in.
We are not talking about anything so drastic.. not even as intense a project, for the devs, as redesiging Atlas Park. Pick a spot and put up a statue. It doesn't need to be tomorrow or next month .. Make it a part of issue 24 or even 25 but do it. Once again I suggest something as simple as going to steel canyon and popping out the statue of M-1 and plopping down one of States. Doesn't require any huge rearranging of the map since a statute already exists in that spot and it pays tribute to a fallen hero we ACTUALLY knew.. can anyone claim they fought side by with or battled against M-1(?), Dauntless(?), Galaxy Girl(?) or any of the other heores the sity has statues honoring? If so you played that mission in AE lol -
I was never a huge fan of Jack Emmert but let's keep in mind that just because he used the Statesman as his Avatar doesn't mean he logged on and roamed the city battling crime and doing good deads. It was a "code" name or Call SIgn for lack of another way of putting it. When he left Statesman, the in game icon, still existed until he was finally killed off this year.
Sam makes some excellent points FOR a statue.. Statesman is COH's Superman (big, strong and sort of inflexible when it comes to what is good and evil) and I suppose if we wanted to carry that further we could reflect and say Manticore is a sort of a Batman type character (No special powers just very highly trained, Rich and uses that to finance his efforts, and doesn't always play by the rules). Now if Superman died tomorrow Metropolis would start building the statue the day after .. The Man of Steel saved that city and the entire world from total devastation countless times. Now personally I like Batman better, prefer my heroes with a bit more of an edge to them, but Batman's style is to avoid publicity if possible and while most of Gothem City knows who he is there would probably be a bigger party going on hosted by all the villains than a crowd outside city hall demanding a statue to him.
Statesman was the FACE of City of Heroes..... every time you logged on you stared at a picture of him with a variety of other heroes following behind. Until the incarnate system began arguably, because we here can and do argue everything imaginable, the biggest threat to Paragon City was Lord Recluse.. and Statesman was one of the main reasons why Recluse didn't openly invade Paragon City. The ICON is dead and there are statues all over the city of fallen or simply retired heroes ...
Quote:So Galaxy Girl's sidekick gets a statue in Skyway but STATESMAN doesn't?Dauntless was Galaxy Girl's sidekick until he died in battle, defending his mentor with his last breath.
The Dauntless Badge is in the southern end of the Hide Park neighborhood of Skyway City. Halfway along the southeastern north-south wall, there is a large statue of Dauntless flexing his arms. The badge marker is sixty feet in front of that statue. -
Just to add my support to some things read here by others...
Regen .. At one point a Regen Scrapper was all but unstoppable and then they nerfed the set. Either needs faster healing times and heals for more or a switch to add some defense or resistance to damage.
Martial Arts ... One of my old favorites was an MA/Regen Scrapper.... the animatios could seriously use some update considering the new stardards set by things like Street Justice, Staff weapons and even Dual Pistols. Could also use an increase in damage
Merc in the MM sets ... As mentioned these seem to do the least damage and die the fastest of any of the pet sets.. I can't really speak about ninjas I never got a set of them past 20. Frankly most if not all of the MM sets could stand some tweeking. It always seems to me I have 5 minons and one "idiot" that can't wait to rush forward and die. With Thugs it's the arsonist who throws a fire bomb and then just has to rush up to see what it did or the Merc's Medic that does basically the same sort of thing .. worst part with mercs is that's the guy that ca heal the others and you!
A never really felt that Super Strength was all that bad but I would love to see Hand Clap replaced with something that I'd actually USE. I still can NOT understand what Dev thought an "attack" that sends your opponent flying across the room was in any way a good idea for a Melee character. I have a SD/SS tank and the one attack I skipped, well I respec'd out of after taking it, is Hand clap. -
Quote:But then that will let you just PL to 50 and then take 10mins to get all the badges....broken no?
I agree with the OP.. sorry to burst your bubble but if your so concerned with PLing .. where is the post about players sitting in Atlas running one DFB after another into their 30s and 40s? Oh and let's not forget that despite sevarl efforts by the Devs no more than a 100 Yd or so away from Ms. Liberty, where all the DFBers hang out, players are still advertising for AE farms that allow quick and easy PLing as well. Do the vast majority of the player base do this? NO not really but using a reason like "If we let them do Safeguards/Mayhems in flashback someone will exploit it and farm" does nothing but punish the non farmers .. Farmers will always find a new way.
This became an issue when Praetoria came into existance and players could start out on the Gold side to level 20 and then decide to be a villain. Suddenly a 20 level villain emerged in the Rogue Ilses and had missed the opportunity to run several Mayhems required for the Invader Accolade Badge and an added 5% added to their Hit Points. At THAT point those players needed to start advertising for help from lower level villains to obtain those badges. Now its even worse... With the DFB and DIB in place less and less villains even bother with low level content and just run the trials.. Why wouldn't they? Four DFB runs grants a player a bonus to Damage, Accuracy, Defense and Recharge till level 22 not to mention the low level single origin enhancements that drop (no where else in game) and make your character even stronger. Four more DIB runs and those 4 bonuses are extended to level 30. So now you don't even have to start a character in Preatoria to find yourslef in this situation.. running those trials will almost always leave your character at level 20 before they do anything else in game.
Oh and let's not overlook the fact that the creation of the DFB/DIB all but encourages every player to FARM. I use this system for every new character I make. I'd be insane not to.. Those buff bonuses and the SO enhancers I can't BUY anyplace else make it not only the fastest way to get my character to level 20 and beyond but they ensure that character is tougher than if I used the older systems. Now beyond 19 or 20 I quit and move on but 4 DFBs will almost always leave a character at 14 level .. One more gets that character to 15 and then I can start running DiBs. Each Di is good for about 1 level so I come out of that at level 19 or even 20 depending on how close to 16 I was when I finished my 5th DFB.
HERO SIDE.. who cares? The Safeguards give an accolade sure but it grants absoluetely no powers or bonuses. All I am out is a couple of Temp powers (Raptor Pack and Jum pack) that by level 20 I don't really need anyway and to be 100% honest.. I bought ninja run and I can RUN from one mission to another faster that a Raptor pack will get me there. Adding Safegaurds and Mayhems to Ouroborus does the same thing adding the instance door mission badges to ouroborus did.. allows the badger a little better opportunity to get the badges they long for without having to BEG or PAY someone to help them get them! -

I have gone to google translator http://translate.google.com/# and turned the english word I wanted to use but couldn't into a Latin word and another into an Italian phrase. I even went and found a web site that translatesEenglish to Elfish to create a name for my Elf Warrior Maiden (Arch/Ice) Blaster. -
I guess the biggest change for me has been how I handle the lower levels. With the DFB and the DIB available now once I leave the tutorial I run 4 to 5 DFBs to get to level 15 and then do at least 4 DIBs. This allows me to acquire a bunch of SO enhancements that greatly increase their abilities. Between those SOs and the bonuses to my Damage, Accuracy, Defense and Recovery when I do finally leave Atlas Park my characters are much stronger. I've also saved a considerable amount of INF since I never really btohered to purchase Training Origin enhancers and now rarely even bother with Dual Origin.. I usually make do with the SO that drop along with some IOs I craft until I hit 22 and can slot Single Origins in everything.
Lets see .. Since they increased the number of exploration badges to 8 per zone and offered up an accolade (with 5 merit reward) I am much more willing to spend time exploring. Hero side alone I think you can acquire 25 or more accolades and thats 125 merits and since its now possible to go Vigilante or Rogue and (if hero) get an additional 8 from the villain side for another 40. When you add in the ones you can pick up in Praetoria you can get close to 200 merits without fighting anyone and that's half of what you need to purchase one of the new ATOs.
I tend to focus much more on the TFS now than before. If my incarnates have shown me anything is that there is no such thing as TOO much when it comes to bonuses .. I have a lot more characters out there now that I have worked to get the Atlas Medallion, Freedom Phalanx Medal, TF Commander and Portal Jockey so they can increase their health by 20% and end by 10%.
Of course with all the new trials and added powers I spend a LOT more time playing my 50 levels. I've really enjoyed having something to do with them and its been fun teaming with as many as 23 other players. -
Quote:Yeah I haven't done Maria's arc since the new issue came out but that sounds like someone didn't quite get around to updating everyhing prior to release. It happens.. Hey I have run radio missions in PI where I was supposed to defeat a Carnie Master Illusionist and the end comment after I wn went something like : You defeated Maria and his minions. HE will think twice before challenging you again! With the trend toward more villain groups that include females they may need to examine the story creator to include ways to distinguish gender.... Unless that was a guy in a dress whose parent named Maria I just beat up.At least, according to the new Maria Jenkins arc souvenir, she is. And Numina is evil now too, I guess. Here is the part of the souvenir that mentions this:
"There is a part to underground Praetoria that the Praetorian Infernal calls his own. Here he and Numina performed dangerous rituals on Positron, rituals you and his grand-daughter Ms. Liberty were too late to stop."
I assume that this is all a mistake and that what the devs intended was to have Numina help out in that mission against Diabolique instead of Ms. Liberty. Ms. Liberty only made sense when it was Statesman that had been captured. It would make far more sense in the arc to have people with a personal relationship with Positron come to his aid instead. -
Quote:LOL Okay then this situation just keeps looking stranger becuase as I explained.. I sold the recipe I acquired and bought the weapons with Emps. And because I was still thinking maybe it was a glitch I checked again last night and both my Thugs/DM and my Dp/Ice have maelstrom's pistols. Its sounding like I may have gotten a 2 for one bargain.. Ummm NOTE to Devs. Nevermind nothing here to see. All is well (before they come and want to take back a set)If you use Empyreans to unlock it, you aren't unlocking the recipe but instead are unlocking the actual left and right pistols on the character that is making the purchase.
Obligatory ParagonWiki link to Maelstrom's Pistol.
EDIT: Since the Wiki notes that Fezitron ... er ... Positron ... posted Arbiter Hawk's comments explaining how to obtain Maelstrom's Pistols I'll post that quote here as well. -
I do both and enjoy both teaming and solo. I do understand what your saying about the early game's insistance to "educate" me with trips to learn how to change my difficulty. I have gotten around that with new charcters using the DFB trial and the DIB. So basically below twenty I team so I can skip all that.
Things I enjoy solo, or on team include .. The arcs in the RWZ. The Field Agnet Nance Arc in Talos. Special Agent Adair in Talos. Montaque Castanella's arc in Steel (so I can team later on the ITF). The two new arcs in Steel .. Graham Easton and Laura Lockhart ( Graham's actually awards a Tsoo Scorceror Pet that can eb summoned five times).
Now some depend on the characters but with a strong Brute, Tank or Scrapper I enjoy soloing Tina McIntyre and Maria Jenkin's arcs in PI... nothing feels better than knowing you kicked the butts of every Praetor that works for Emperor Cole -
Quote:I wasn't aware that they WERE account wide, but it might be limited to level 50+ if it is. Ascension Armor is limited in such a fashion, for example.
Okay well here is the things guys. I had a recipe drop on a TPN and was considering crafting with that until I realized how much I could get for it at Wentworth. Then I discovered that for .. I think it was 30 emps (?? don't quote me I can't recall now) I could BUY the same recipe. So I sold the one I had for over half a billion in INF and then used emps to buy and craft. I did not craft twice but I have a blaster and a mastermind with Maelstrom's Dual Pistols. The friend I referred to already has the pistols on her Blaster but when he checked did have the option to add them to his 25 level corruptor.
So unless something is seriously bugged here we can assume two things..
1) it is NOT mandatory that the character be a 50 level to use the pistols
and
2) Apparently at LEAST 2 characters can access the pistols from crafting one recipe.
I am totally confusedand unfortunately the Wiki has no details on them at all so I don't know where else to look.
-
Quote:Out of curiosity, how the heck can your bots MM be using the pistols? They use pulse rifles, Mael's pistols aren't available as a pulse rifle.
Did you misspeak and actually mean thugs?
Opps lol yeah my Thugs/Dm has the DP. I has way too many characters -----> total altoholic -
Okay here is my problem and I would really appreciate any help I can get. I used Empyreans and purchased the recipe for Maelstrom's dual pistols. Currently I have two incarnates that both have access to and are using the weapons.. A DP/Ice Blaster and my Bots/DM Mastermind. So obviously once crafted the guns are available account wide (to any that can actually use them). That bring me to the problem I have a 30 level DP/Rad Corrupter and when I went into weapon choices I can't find the pistols anywhere. Thinking it might have been a bug I asked a friend that has a 25 level DP Corruptor to check since he also crafted the recipe. When he checked his 25 level did have the option to pick Maelstrom's pistols in the costume creator.
Now to be doubly safe before I even came her I checked again and my 30 level still does not have that option AND I did not check at a trainer or at one of the "mini tailors" in the RWZ.. I went to an actual TAILOR SHOP and my character can't access the weapons. Was there some limit on how many haracters could use the guns or do i need to file a petition to get access?
Thanks for any help you can provide.. This one has me totally stumped. Until my friend checked i thought maybe they just weren't available unless your character was a 50 level or even an Incarnate but last I checked 25 levels were not in the incarnate program YET lol -
As already mentioned this was never something that NC Soft promised or even proposed. It was a forum thread that, as I recall, suggested that any character reaching 50 level sgould get a statue. The probelm (s) with that were just how many statues does one player get? I personally have more than 40 character that would qualify. Now multiply that by the number of players in game with 5, 6 or 7 year in game and it quickly became apparent we'd need entire zones dedicated to nothing but statues.
Then of course there was the situation concerning exactly who si going to build and place all these statues and considering a 50 level has at least 5 outfits (including halloween salvage) and possible as many as 10 these days.. does the player have to be contacted and asked to pick which look they want for their statue? It could have gotten to a point where there would have been at least one poor, overworked, constantly annoyed Dev doing nothing but statues.. Instead of designing new trials, new maps, new costumes, new missions, or whatever!
At one point some one suggested that each player would only get one statue to cut down on the problems.. Okay which character? Do I get a choice in the one I want? If I decide I like another character better at a later date can I recontact NC Soft to get my statue changed?
I forget how long the thread went and I lost interest and even stopped going to look but I can bet not a single NC Soft Rep ever once poked their head in and even said.. "We'll discuss this at the next planning meeting and get back to you". Now I suppose plaques would make life easier but again ... How many does a player get and where are we going to place these thousands of plaques? I just don't think we will ever see it happen.
*pictures City hall in Atlas literally covered from top to bottom and side to side with brass plaques.. and giggles* -
Quote:Okay I understand the concern but these days if you are in Incarnate and your even TALKING about adding any additional Hybrid power.. Who doesn't own at least 2 pets? One of the requirements to even join a Magisterium trial is you must have Destiny and LORE. Yes some characters will benefit more than others but isn't that true of other incarnate powers as well?I think this sums up the scope of other comments above very succinctly and I have to agree.
For comparison's sake:
Melee: Anyone can walk into melee range... and many non-melee ATs spend a lot of time there
Assault: Every character in the game does damage... now you can do more of it
Support: This tree offers a buff to folks around you, lots of folks have teammates, right?
Control: It makes your controls better, or gives you controls if you don't have any
Command: Only helps those folks who already have pets
Also, no one is arguing that all trees are equally beneficial to all characters... just that they have a use period.
Sure anyone can take and slot any of the Alpha power trees but if your character doesn't have holds or Immobs or Fear or Debuffs or whatever.. why take a Alpha that focuses on them when there are others that focus on extra damage, increased defense or resistance, more end etc, etc. There is nothing that says a COntrol tree has to be the onlynew one added they could add 3-4 or however many more they feel like. But at this point even a TANKER that has a t3 in a LORE slot has at least 2 pets for about 5 minutes. -
I like the idea but I'd be more inclined to go with different benefits. I won't place them in trees just list them for consideration and whoever, if anyone, can decide where and how to place them
Defense... Yes I know that the Support Hybrid does have a tree that actually provides double the added protection for pets that it does for other team mates but that is assuming the pet stay in range to benefit from them. My suggestion would be a tree that directly increased the defense, resistance, or both of any summoned pet.
Control .. I definately like your idea for this. added control for MMs and ANY type of control for Dominators, Controllers and Soldiers of Arachnos (lol you forgot one) would be great. Now since I KNOW the devs are not going to buy off on total control for other than MM pets I think your idea for a few simple commands like "Hold Ground" or "Retreat" or even "Heel" would be great. You already covered hold ground and retreat so I'll just add that "Heel" like the command used by MMs would force the pet to stay at the side of its owner. It would still have free will over who or what it attacked but this would at least make using them in situations like OUTSIDE during a TPN less of a bother.
Endurance discount .. Damage for the most part has never been the issue with most pets but I KNOW for a fact with MMs the amount of end they use up is. Nothing is more frustrating than getting into a long battle with an AV and suddenly it seems like forever since the last time your pets fired off a shot .. because they have no end left. A two minute long toggle that cut end consumption by say 20% (? to high? maybe 15%) would or could be a life saver.
Anyway I like your idea and hope the consider it -
Quote:Definately agree.. M1 is all over he place .. He is in PI and he's also in perez Park so removing him from Steel and putting in a statue of States seems appropriate. Sorry Gob .. but States may be dead and replaced but he's still in Flashbacks and in the first SSA. Not to mention the fact that for years he was the face of COH. I'm happy the emphasis is more toward making us the focus of the game but I don't think one statue to a fallen hero is asking so much. As mentioned M-1 seems to show up all over the place and can ANYONE tell us what he did to get statues all over the place? lol The man is in Echo of Galaxy (since its been mostly destroyed), Perez Park, Peregrine Island and let us not forget how many times he shows up in the devastated city map where we fight the Psychic Clockwork King from the Tina McIntyre Arc, Battle Maiden from the Maria Jenkins Arc and several others in the 40-50 level range. The center of Paragon City is approximately between Perez Park and Kings Row, between the war walls.
M1 (the statue by Posi/Valk in Steel Canyon) can be replaced by Statesman. He already has a statue in Galaxy, and I think he also exists in Peregrine Island's "random assortment of statues, including voyeur girl peering into an apartment building". -
Quote:That's always been the way it worked. Several years ago I had to rename a character because someone was offened by the word Phart. I laughed at it and renamed the character the same name in another language.
This works and I have used it several times to use a name I wanted but was already taken in English. I have a Dark/Dark Corruptor named Doctor Tenebris.. Tenebris is LATIN for Dark. I have a DP/Poison Corruptor known as Nera Vedona ... go to the google translator and type that in translating for italian to English .... it comes out the widow black. Now tell me Marvel comix has an Italian version of the Black Widow! Now watch someone decide to generic me over this post lol
Heck if you really want to get creative.. Go to google and "google" Elvish translater or Klingon. I have a Arch/Ice blaster who is named Lorien Sindenari' She is an elf warrior maiden and I used a translater to turn a normal name I liked into an elf name. -
I KNEW there was another one I wanted to add...
Fix the DIB so the Freakshow bosses we defeat in phase one count toward their defeat badge. Reason.. obvious we want that badge cause its needed for the Freedom Phalanx accolade and the added 10% health bonus. When the DFB came out we saw this same problem... Before it was fixed we didnt get credit for any of the Hellion or Last bosses we defeated. They corrected that and now depending on the number of runs you make a player can get 70-80 of the 100 Lost bosses they need for the Finder Badge.
The strange thing is while we don't get credit for the Freakshow tanks we defeat in Phase 1 we do get credit for the COT Mages we defeat in Phase 2. So why are we allowed credit toward Soul Binder (100 mages) but not Tank Buster (100 tanks)? Both are requirements for accolades Freedom Phalanx increasing hit points while Soul Binder is part of the Archmage accolade which gives you the Eye of the Mangus (30% Resistance to all but Psonic attack and 50% dfense to all but psionic attack for 1 minute). -
Quote:Isn't this what the "Rejoin Last Event" button is for in the LFG tab? I use it all the time when I disconnect in the middle of a trial.
No sorry that only works if you disconnect and log back on. I am talking about the on going known issue where you start to load into a trial, get a mapserve notice (or not), and then find yourself still on line and back in the zone you started out it. At that point its like you quit the team and the only way back is to contact the league leader and get re invited. I believe when this bug first appeared it was mainly the BAF that was affected but recently its spread and I have been bounced from TPNs, Keyes and even a DD.
Now what your describing does work.... For whatever reason you crash and actually have to log back in you can simply got to the LFG and rejoin your league. -
Quote:It's not a matter of code... it's a matter of the game engine being unable to handle a seamless world in the sense of no loading screens. It wouldn't be hard to allow all factions to visit all zones.
What I wouldn't mind however is making Paragon more like Praetoria in the sense that the war walls would go away and you'd simply zone into the next area by crossing the boundary (and be able to see the nearby zone from afar the way its done in praetoria)
Oh I see I think I must have misunderstood. by seemless we are referring to being able to simply walk from one zone into another? Not zone like we do now.. because bascally now we can ZONE from red to blue or blue to red simply be going through DA/the RWZ, Midnighters club etc. There is still a load screen as you switch from map to map to map -
Quote:Yea I didn't mean seemless world
that probably can't happen in a game as old as this designed the way it was.
I meant more of a "no such thing as zones only one side or the other can access".
I don't think its all that impossible to make it at least somewhat seemless... With the existance of Rogues and Vigilantes we now have "Technically" Villains roaming hero zones and Heroes in Villain zones as well. I am no computer whiz and don't claim to know a thing about creating programs but if they can creat a code that allows a Rogue (still technically a villain) to enter Paragon City whats to stop them from using a similar code to let Villian (villains) do so as well? -
Quote:An easier fix for this would be to have Council AND 5th count for the hunt mission. You either get the relevant stuff off the Council or the 5th who've just beaten them down.
/signed I would gladly accept this and I think in some cases this is actually what happens Red side... I know I have earned defeat badges for Warwolf or Vamprii while in a mission against the Fifth. The big thing is they need to do SOMETHING to solve the situation. As it is the 5th always win any encounter with Council and when you go looking there isn't one in sight.. Strange considering prior to the return supposedly the Council defeated the 5th Column and forced them out. Someone has gotten out of shape and lazy while the Nazis were away -
As the title indicates this isn't about anything EARTH SHATTERING .. gee I wish I could use a font there that wiggled lol
Just a look at a number of small things they could/should have fixed to make us all stop grinding our teeth every time we discover it still isn't fixed.
In no particular order:
Pick areas for the Council to "control" and other ones the 5th Coumn can "rule" when spawning. Reason .. well for one the Numina TF. At some point anyone that wants the TF Commmander accolade finds themself in Boomtown trying desperately to outshoot the 5th Column to defeat 20 Council. This can get very annoying because as soon as you enter an area where they both are the 5th attacks and ALWAYS wins defeating all the Council in sight. Other areas this becomes a factor include Brickstown where a least one contact has several missions involving street hunting Council and trying to even find them is a chore.
Once and for all find a way to solve the problem with Mastermind pets that leaves them stuck at the entrance to a map. Reason ... same one we've been complaining about for years since this first occurred. The pets are the majority of an MMs DPS and a good portion of its defense. It gets real old every time I enter an Incarnate trial having to wait to see if my pets are actually following me before I can do anything... and if they aren't I have to waste more time typing in /releasepets and then respawning and equipping them. I've joined BAFS where they were already battling Northstar by the time my pets were mobile. Sorry but a slash command that makes them all die is NOT a solutions its a quick fix and after several years the word "quick" no longer applies.
Fix the issue that map serves players on Incarnate trials and returns them, OFF THIER TEAMS, back to the zone they just left. Reason .. totally annoying and a fix that allows me to contact the league leader and ask to be reinvited has several inherent problems. 1) okay I can't remember the league leaders name and now I need to scroll back through a bunch of chat in zone to see the last time he talked so i can contact him. 2) remember his name or not .. I do send a tell only to discover he got booted too and now both of us are trying to contact other team mates to find out who IS running the league now. 3) League leader does not get booted but the OTHER bug occurs and now not only doesn't he have the satr .. he's not even a team leader [not that that matters since once inside ONLY the league leader can invite players].
See reference above and then fix the situation where a league zones onto a map and teams have been torn apart, leaders demoted and the league list stretches half way across the screen. Reason ... Granted there isn't a single Incarnate trial that has a timed phase one YET.. but in some cases a player that never wanted to lead, has never lead and doesn't want to lead now finds himself in charge. I use the term FINDS loosely because there are times we actually have TO YELL AT THE NEW GUY .. repeatedly to get him to notice he is the one running things and give control back to someone that can reassemble the teams.
Okay so off the top of my head, and mainly because I was taking a break from playing after a succesful Penelope Yin TF, there are a few small problems that I think we'd all like to see solved. Nothing that makes the game impossible to play or enjoy just makes you grumble a bit when it happens AGAIN. So until I come up with more does anyone else have any they'd like to add?
If we make a REALLY big long list we can give it to Zwillinger, he can print it out and then make a paper airplane out of it.
