From that point on...I just assume punch RPers in the face. They're useless if you ask me. Dudes RPing as chicks......get a life. Seriously.

So, just from your experience with those two people, you've formed the conclusion that all RPers suck?

What if they really were girls and just didn't want to broadcast that to people? What if they really were guys and just didn't want to use vent?

So we're useless, but at least we (usually) stay away from non-RPers or, if we team with non-RPers, we don't force RP on them. We don't go around saying that PvPers/farmers/PvEers are useless (At least I don't).

It's our $15 a month, let us spend it on what we want. If you can't respect that, you should just leave.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    lol...I respect it just fine.

But there's a time to roll play and there's a time to be honest with those who spend a great amount of time helping you. We spent countless hours lvling, helping, instructing them on builds, tfs, ect and we didnt get the respect to know "who" these people were.

So yes, I formed an opinion about RPers in general. Get over it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just a quick point on this as well - this is the internet, and as you already pointed out - it's a video game.

How sure are you that you "know" anyone in your SG that you haven't met face-to-face and hung out with? Anyone you meet over the internets could also be a serial killer, but heaven forbid, they be someone male pretending to be female, because that's just such a foreign concept and so radically different from being male.

Obviously, I'm not going to convince you to change your position on males RPing being female, but lol at the concept that they were somehow cheating you from getting to "know" them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll answer this just because it deals with our SG more than it does with RPing....

Our SG has 5 members and in the top 75 SGs on champion. We're very active and play a ton. 3 of us talk via the phone while we play at times.

So that's how "know" about the rest of our SG and that's why we're perfectly fine keeping the SG small. I rather have 5 guys who I know than 50 who pretend to be someone they arnt.

    RP?

Eww....I must have stumbled into a Teamsters meeting or something.

Proceed....I'll show myself to the door. Kthxbai. Enjoy the RPing! It ROX!

I don't get the entire "RP" thing anyways. You're playing a video game...and its not exactly text based. So I guess I'm missing the part where RP can be "fun".

    [/ QUOTE ]

And others dont' see how base building can be "fun." Or playing the market can be "fun." Or PVP, or farming, or writing MA missions can be "fun."

    So what?

    [/ QUOTE ]

So that's my opinion...get over it.

    RP?

And to be honest, I kinda believe everyone is a guy on here unless I can confirm otherwise via Vent or some other method. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

The funny thing is...they were both excellant players. Its just a shame they had to RP and pretend they were someone else to enjoy the game. They werent brought in because they were female...they were added because they were good players...so I'll nip that in the bud before someone even goes there.

We (The Stoned Templars) had 2 members who told us they were female and even went out of their way to maintain that "sex" in pretty much everything they did and said. Of course...they were "lesbian". *rolls eyes*

It wasnt until we added Vent and invited them that we came to the conclusion that they were both dudes. They both declined to use Vent every time we asked them to join it.

From that point on...I just assume punch RPers in the face. They're useless if you ask me. Dudes RPing as chicks......get a life. Seriously.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's painting with a pretty broad brush, isn't it?

Light RP can be a lot of fun. We have a regular TF team on Saturday where the leader pretty much stays in character throughout, so I try to do the same. We talk about how Sister Psyche has enlisted our aid, etc.

Assuming that *all* female RPers are "dudes" is flat out wrong. I'm female, all my characters are female, and I RP as female.

So try not to overgeneralize, mmkay?

    [/ QUOTE ]

They were males pretending to be females. Not the other way around. I really doubt too many females pretend to be males while RPing, but since I'm not a RPer, I could be way off base in my assumption.

My guess is there are A LOT of guys running around pretending to be female. Those are the people I wonder about.

If you're wearing those shoes, then I feel really sorry for you. If you dont, good for you and enjoy your RP. mmmkay?

I don't get the entire "RP" thing anyways. You're playing a video game...and its not exactly text based. So I guess I'm missing the part where RP can be "fun".

  8. If you stop playing your fire/kins like a buff bot and instead play them like a offensive juggernaut, then you wont have the problems of having to buff teammates all the damn time.

I dont find the /kin part exhausting at all but I also dont find the need to keep teammates SBed and IDed during stupid farms or general missions. Dont get me wrong, I use both powers, but not when some scrapper or blaster asks just for the recharge.

I decide when its needed, not the other way around. Using that mindset, its a very easy secondary to play.
  9. I think he's saying you should 6 slot transference with efficiency adaptor set.

    *duck*.....shamefull self promotion....

here's my Fire/Kin build that I use for farming AE missions.

    https://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat...=8#Post13521141

There's a handfull of things I would do differently with your build....obviously. Transfusion works very with Touch of the Nictus set. Personally, I dont see the need for 6 slotting your purple sets. The 5% toxic resist very rarely comes into play if at all when farming.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
The thing I love about Super Speed is slotting it with a Celerity +Stealth IO. Gives you total invis to everything except snipers and Rikti Drones. Combine that with the readily available flight/jump packs and you're golden.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Should put that +Stealth IO in Sprint instead. Then you can toggle it when needed.

Blessing of the Zypher -KB IO in SS FTW!
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Just make a fire/kin like the rest of the world.

    [/ QUOTE ]
  12. Interesting.

I thought about focused accuracy, but wouldnt the end drain just be too much? You could have the following toggles all running at the same time...

SS, CJ, RI, EF, LR, FA, Acro, and Stealth?

    Edit....plus Scorpion Shield

That just seems like sooooo much to me.

    New Hero

I'm not about to insert myself into this "soloing Rom in 60 seconds" discussion, but I believe she uses both Shivans and a heavy from the RWZ. That said....I've never seen it done.

Sorry if I busted an AOW secret....
  14. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe "Hand Clap" does KB and not KU.

I love my Ice/SS tanker and wouldnt trade it for any other /SS tank out there. Energy Absorption is just too cool. Not to mention you get hibernate...which IMO is the best tier 9 "save" power a tank could possibly have.
  15. War_Admiral

    Grav/Kin...

    [ QUOTE ]
Siphon Power also debuffs the damage of the target, which is a good idea if it's mezz resistant or a mezz misses. And there's also a good chance that at some point you'll be doing TFs or such where your effective level is below FS anyway. Take it, keep it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its also great on high lvl tfs....even at lvl 50.

When you do the STF, a lot of those AVs nuke so you can't exactly stay in melee range yourself to get the benifit of FS. That's where siphon power comes into play.

Stay in range with all the other squishies and you still can get your +dmg buff and buff the entire team with FS + SP.
  16. War_Admiral

    Grav/Kin...

And even when slotted....FS will have some downtime until you get some pretty good recharge bonuses. Siphon power helps bridge the gap until you're able to cast FS again.

However....FS still doesnt help the ranged toons on the team. Siphon power will...
  17. War_Admiral

    Grav/Kin...

Why does everyone think siphon power has no use when FS becomes available?

FS hits those in melee range of the target. Siphon power hits everyone around you even if you're not in melee range.

2 different powers.....which work very well together when used correctly.
  18. I'm just not sure what to do with the power pools on this build. Any opinions are welcomed!

Should I fly instead of the leaping/speed pools? Should I take leadership pool instead of concealment? Am I taking the correct epic pool?

Seems like a solid build to me, but I'm always looking to make things better.

Ignoring everything else....transference is the difference maker when it comes to speed and being able to move from mob to mob. The endless supply of endurance can't be beat by AM or anything else (consume, conserve power, ect) that you'll need from the epic pools.

and Cinder and Smoke. I ould og on but to be honest all you have to do a search for fire/kin there are literally hundres of threads that ask the exact same thing. Just search for it.

Smoke is useless on a farm....

Here's my fire/kin build which I use pretty exclusivly for farming/high lvl tfs.

Check the second build listed on the thread. The top one was modified. Hope this helps...
  21. lolz water cooling

Brilliant....lets run water through a uber rig so when you get even a slight drip/leak, you fry everything inside!!!

    FTW!
  22. Stop spamming firecages and your endurance issues will get better at the lower levels. Money says thats whats killing you right now.

If you need to, pick up ring of fire. Some dont tend to take it, but I have it as a set mule for the grav. anchor set you can get at 50 :P

It's not obscurity that makes a Mac less vulnerable to viruses. It's the fact that it uses a completely different kind of base system for computing that PC written viruses cannot navigate through.

99.99999% of viruses are written on PCs for PCs and therefor can only affect PCs.

Find a hacker anywhere that uses a Mac. I rest my case.

Not only find a hacker that uses a Mac, but find one that's successfully put a virus on OS X. It hasnt been done....yet. There are 0 active viruses currently infecting OS X users.
