Siphon Speed v. Super Speed?
Having an Alt with Siphon Speed and others with Super Speed, I say the following:
Super Speed
Pro - Always available to toggle off and on as needed.
Con - Takes up a power choice
Siphon Speed
Pro - Saves a power choice, and can get you around pretty well
Con - Not always available. Doesn't last very long and if you're not right there with a fresh target, it's Slowsville, Population: You!
Since you are supplementing with CJ and Hurdle, you really shouldn't have issues if you don't mind going slow after sitting a minute. Meh, just hit that Warrior in Talos Island as you're coming out of WW and you're set.
Does not having SuSp's stealth on your SiSp toon become an issue for you?
Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"

Also Super Speed gives you stealth while Siphon Speed does not. Siphon Speed will draw aggro from target.
Edit: forgot to state pro for Siphon Speed: gives you stackable recharge speed buff

True. I've been at work for 2 - 14 hour shifts and no sleep since friday.
Aside from the stealth, I'd just as soon choose to drop SuperSpeed and use the power pick elsewhere, but that might just be me.
My one /Kin, a Corr, is at about 33rd level and I never took a travel power for him beyond Siphon and that Kin "+jump" one (can't recall the name right now). Those two, combined with any one of the numerous jetpack temp powers and one of the Fitness powers (Swift or Hurdle, can't recall which one I took), meant I never felt I ever needed an official travel power.
So it can work, it's just up to you to decide if that fits your play style or you want to try it out. For me it was an experiment I made after I heard that Kins could get by without a real travel power - an experiment that worked out.
Thanks, everyone, for the replies thus far.

Neither.
Inertial Reduction.
I use Siphon Speed as a recharge booster. When I need to get somewhere I hit IR. Super Jump for 1 minute (perma) and you don't need to dip into a pool for it.

On both if my kins (one controller, one def) I took Hasten and I wanted invis, so I went ahead and took Super Speed (along with Invertial Reduction) and I get to places very very quickly.
My Fire/Kin went the Siphon Speed/IR route for a long time, but I've been much happier with him once I respecced into Super Speed. Going long distances is a large part of the game (especially if you do lots of TF's) and powers that improve my overall QOL are important to me.
I made a speedster once (Kin/Ice) with Siphon Speed as her only travel power. It was always a problem when you hit a new zone. eg get to 20 and go to Talos and suddenly every potential target is hard to hit and dangerous if you miss.
And you will miss 1 time out of 20 no matter what, and remember those misses much better than the other 19 times the power hit. So it can seem to miss a lot.
Its worth trying out for fun, as long as you're preapred to put up with the minigame of getting from A to B sometimes.
My current Earth/Kin gets by with Inertial Reduction very well though, because its not situational.
Ive always liked Siphon Speed for its other pro - it doesnt suppress. You can pinball around in combat like a real speedster with it.
Just ran my fire/kin on a Dr. Q the other night. that toon has only siphon speed and swift, no combat jumping or any other form of travel powers (other then the jetpack). i was beating everyone that had travel powers to just about every mish. i was using the jump pads to my advantage, but i still had to hit siphon speed on a target as everyone else flew by me. but also i dont think anyone has mentioned siphon speed also affects the raptor packs. not sure about jump packs though
id say that unsupressed movement with siphon speed is its best quality in terms of movement (of course the recharge is better). the worse quality being not that you have to target someone to use it but that it has a chance to miss. you can usually find near by enemies anywhere you are but when it misses, youre left in "slowsville" until it recharges.
None of my kins have a travel power. Some of them have, for instance, Hover or Combat Jumping, but no actual travel power.

The thing I love about Super Speed is slotting it with a Celerity +Stealth IO. Gives you total invis to everything except snipers and Rikti Drones. Combine that with the readily available flight/jump packs and you're golden.
Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.
I have a kin controller that used Superspeed but not Siphon Speed. Then I learned about the recharge buff and took it for that reason ... and lived happily ever after.

Should put that +Stealth IO in Sprint instead. Then you can toggle it when needed.
Blessing of the Zypher -KB IO in SS FTW!
I use both, ss for travel and stealth, and siphon speed for faster recharge of my powers in mission. I use IR if I need vertical movement.
Up until this point, I've been using both but now I'm considering dropping Super Speed and just going with Siphon Speed as my Travel Power (+CJ and Hurdle).
Pros? Cons?
(and is there a stated reason that Siphon Speed doesn't take Running or Universal Travel enhancements [even though Speed Boost does]?)
