    Something like HWmonitor works.

You want to keep everything as low temperature as possible. The CPU should be under 60 degrees Celsius, approximately 130 degrees Fahrenheit , and the graphics card needs to be under 80 degrees Celsius or it will likely get up to 100 really quickly, 212 degrees Fahrenheit(literally boiling).
Alot of people seem to use speedfan as it provides tons of details.
  3. Best I could do on short notice, but you get the idea of how "classic" I keep things. I threw in my /info for the fun of it until I realized that it's hard to read. >.<

  4. 1) What else is running?
    2) When's the last time you defraged that HDD?
    3) You said Force-Quit, are you using a Fruit PC? ;-)
    5) Play or Play Not, there is no 4.
  5. I don't think the search function has shown more than fifty names in ages if at all. I think it used to/does say something like "Showing 50 of XXX players online".

yeah, forgot to mention that I have all 12 slots full on my 2nd account as well. 10 Of them are part of a not all that functional themed SG I made for the hell of it. The other two are used for SG/VG tweaks in cases like me forgetting to login before losing Super Star.

I have one main character I play and 2 other 50s that I play every now and then. I do plan on making and keeping a staff scrapper soon - it is the one set I wanted since I started this game 7 years ago.

As for mine, since my condition makes it difficult to sit comfortably for any extended period of time...it generally changes multiple times throughout the hour, but for the last few issues it's been pretty much just sitting on the not so comfortable floor.

    Yes...pains...

Because everytime you write something it has to be approved by a set of overweight twins that say "Hiya" when you greet them?

Funny, sometimes I Swear that half the ingame chanel members have me on randomized iggy. :-/
  13. What about keeping the 48 cap, but modifying it a bit. Cap it as an allocation cap meaning that you are allocated 48 per server unless you give up slots from an unused server. Thus you would have the potential cap of Number_Of_Servers_X_48, but could adjust them as you wished. I read another thread earlier today about "restrictions due to server resources" and wonder why they couldn't just make an "issue" focused on upgrading the existing server resources. Yes I understand the tech/$$$ components, just sayin.
  14. Call me silly, and I know that atleast Someone will, but aren't dynamic IPs intended to lessen the chances of hacking, atleast at some level? I was under the impression that if I had a static IP, then it made it easier for someone to snoop their way towards and perhaps onto my network (assuming I was dumb enough not to have a router on my end with DHCP based internal IP routing).

For those that can't simply plunk down extra $$$ at will, this is a wonderful idea as it allows for better budgeting of points. IE: If I knew that set A was being released on date X, then I could have rearranged my points spending by not purchasing item L until after my VIP stipend/paycheck came in on date Y thus giving me access to something more useful before something for flare.

I quite liked the concept of vanity pets and prepared to stagger points purchases as I could for them...until they made the change where all non-AT pets were in this pseudo cue that only allowed one out at a time. That pretty much killed future purchase plans to be honest.
  17. On beta (before they made purchases free), I "spent" enough to get like 4 dozen tokens. :-p
  18. Eh, who's to say they weren't looking for new/cheaper blood to work on future issues of the game and didn't want to scare the possible candidates by mentioning that it wouldn't be a from-scratch project.
  19. The purpose is...to make random players ask silly questions :-p

This is what I understood it to be and have actually observed happening to me once. I was offline long enough to pass the 45dy limit I'd set and had to ask the 2nd in line to push me back into place. Now I keep tabs more carefully and if I get more than a week or two I'll hop onto said toons now even if I'm focusing on others.

Pssst, that catgirl infestation's getting an upgrade to lions, ligers and chairs. ;-)

Eh, worst case you could buy some character slots if you don't like it on any particular server. Not everyone stays on a particular server as many have friends on different servers.
  23. If you notice, your entire SG menu turns red/purple when side switching to indicate that you nolonger have access/effect on the SG/VG.

@WanderingAries: this computer does fine with any other usb device, it just seems to fail to upload software for mice of any kind aside from this one.
Oh, you have a PC that still uses the older P/S2 style ports as a mandatory primary. I've actually worked on a PC recently with a similar configuration and it seems that once these things get to the point that they don't recognize/install a USB mouse, then it's passed the safe useful lifespan of the motherboard. IE: You need to get a new PC soon or you won't be able to do Anything that can't be done strictly using the keyboard and even then your days are numbered.

Seriously, I remember seeing ads on tv, in game stores, etc during the first year or so of the game. I can't recall an example of even an online promotion of the game since. Not even the so-called #1 place for gaming news in the U.S. tends to cover or even compare CoX to anything "modern" like it used to. From what I can tell on here and FB, it seems like the only promotion is at events like Comicon.
